Chapter 36: Spectacle of Plan
After flying two hundred meters high in the sky, Erix sent the metal ball further 50 meters above. His forehead was already full of sweat, and his mind was in pain as he controlled this heavy metal ball.
[Metal Affinity Building Up]
[Progress Phase…]
‘What the fuck?’ Erix didn’t have time to pay attention to notifications as he ignored them.
“Buddy, you have to swoop down at the fastest speed possible. We need to reach below at the gate before that metal ball,” Erix said to Bloodwood Eagle and even got a thoughtful response that he could somehow understand.
“You need mana? Alright,” Erix said as he put his palm on the Eagle’s back and infused 50 mana points into it.
*Whistle!*
“Let’s go,” Erix grinned.
*Swoop!*
Erix released his control over the metal ball while the Bloodwood Eagle swooped down at its fastest speed possible.
[Metal Affinity Building Failed]
[Progress Reset]
Ignoring the notifications, Erix tightly held onto its feathers.
People saw Erix coming down while Erix saw the monster frog attacking Isabella’s Frost Shield as it protected the 3rd layer of the barrack.
“Nice speed, hahaha.”
Erix laughed as the Bloodwood Eagle flew super fast and arrived at the entrance.
The metal ball gained kinetic power as it traveled below like a rocket, increasing its speed each moment.
“It won’t land on it!” Serina suddenly exclaimed as she saw the trajectory.
“It will,” Erix narrowed his eyes and rubbed his temple as he focused on the Metal ball.
Just when it came within his fifty-meter range, Erix controlled the metal ball and moved it slightly before…
*BOOM!*
-2389!
[ You have killed a level 52 mutated creature, Corpus Toxin Frog. +10 Strength, +10 Agility, +10 Health. ]
[ You have reached level 41. You have gained 20 unassigned stat points. ]
He leveled up 10 times! From 31 to 41!
Not just him, but Rin, Isabella, Lena, and Serina also leveled up a lot!
Rin reached level 40. Isabella reached level 33, Lena reached level 29, and Serina reached level 28!
Everyone leveled up according to their contribution to the battle.
“Woah…”
Lena was shocked but pleasantly.
“Nice. More stat points to save,” Rin chuckled.
“But I think we’ll have to use them soon. We all have chosen a job class that needs to meet the requirement, but it won’t be easy to complete those tasks,” Isabella said with a wry smile.
“Hey, young man! Can you bring that treasure crate inside? Since it says it contains multiple items, can you give us a few?” Ben shouted towards Erix when he saw Erix landing towards the squashed and meshed monster frog.
The frog dropped a scroll, two Mortal-Grade skill stones, and a blue-colored treasure crate(rare).
“That asshole wants something without even working for it?” Rin said without holding back as she snorted.
“You… he is a Senator. Don’t you know how to hold back?” Serina was speechless. The first reveal of this chapter happened through N0v3l-Bi(j)n.
“Sounds like a beggar to me, humph.”
Isabella and Lena wryly smiled after hearing Rin’s words.
Of course, Ben couldn’t hear Rin’s words. Otherwise, he would’ve surely puked blood out of anger.
“Let’s go inside, ladies,” Erix said as he brought the treasure crate.
“Are you really planning to give them things?” Serina asked upon seeing Erix coming back with a crate.
“Heh, of course not,” Erix scoffed before lightly chuckling as he said, “But I want them to see the boons.”
…
“Make some more way, please. Don’t surround closely.”
“You all, back away a bit more.”
Over a hundred people made a circle on the ground while Erix, Rin, Isabella, Lena, and Serina stood in the center with the treasure crate.
General Tark and Ben stood at a side in the circle while soldiers maintained the circle’s border.
“I am opening it,” Erix said as he touched the Treasure Crate’s lock part.
The people looked on with rapt attention as they saw the treasure crate glowing and spewing out four orbs: two blue and two cyan.
However, Erix, Rin, Isabella, Serina, and Lena were startled to hear a notification in their heads.
[A rare-grade treasure chest has been stored in your inventory]
[A rare-grade treasure chest has been stored in your inventory]
[A rare-grade…]
…
All of them got a notification of getting a rare-grade treasure chest!
“Is that symbol of scroll into that orb indicate a skill?” Ben asked with a hint of greed in his eyes. Well, not just him, but many had that hint.
“Correct, old man. But you won’t get anything.”
Rin said it in a clear-cut manner before she swept her glance at everyone and continued, “If you want to get power, then you have to fight for it!”
“But fret not because we will help you get started. We’ll make sure that you get at least one skill and an item,” Rin finished with a smile.
A great pitch.
From their knowledge, reaching level 5 at least ensured a single skill and an item.
Of course, they didn’t plan to help every single person on the base, but only a certain amount because the rest would be able to get help from those that Erix, Rin, and their group helped for greater benefits.
After all, Erix and his group were too high-leveled, so no matter how many low leveled monsters and zombies they killed, they wouldn’t drop treasure chests or orbs.
“I am opening the orbs first,” Rin said before she touched a blue orb.
Two of those four orbs had skills, and the other two had items.
[ Blast Crossbow(rare-grade): A crossbow that has a chance to produce a powerful exploding arrow. The damage of arrows depends on the user’s Strength and Magic stats.
->Cost: 5 to 30 mana points to produce an arrow.
->10% chance to trigger an explosion that deals 200% of damage.
“That’s so magical… It’s like an MMO game item.”
“Wish we could revive like in an MMO game.”
The people started talking while General Tark and Ben gulped.
The other soldiers also wanted this weapon.
After all, it was a fundamental desire to acquire a powerful weapon, especially in the current state of the world.
The weapons gained from treasure orbs or chests could be stored inside the inventory, but the man-made items and weapons couldn’t be stored, so everyone had to rely on items from Apocalypse.
Guns only worked on low leveled zombies and weak mutated creatures, but not on high leveled monsters. Moreover, killing creatures with native weapons didn’t drop items and prevented people from leveling up.
“Can you let Mom have this crossbow? It’s better than her current drill pistol weapon,” Serina said as she looked at Rin and Erix.
“Yep, that’s better,” Rin said, and Erix nodded.
“Thanks.”
“Jonty, take this pistol,” Lena handed over her drill pistol to the bodyguard.
“Now, I’ll open the skill scroll orb next,” Rin said as she rubbed her hands while grinning.
The people around them also revealed eager expressions.
