72 Phoenix City! Heavenly Melody, Rin’s Parents
_Effect(s):
—>Space Maw: You can throw the hook from your hand and grab onto space itself, be it in the air, on the water, or inside the water at any spot, as it will grab any particular point of space anywhere, even within confines of physical and magical.
—>Babin Shadow: While using the hook to move, you can spend 1 point of mana per second to pass through any physical object or structure and spend 10 mana points per second to pass through magical structures and magic phenomena of skills, including attacks and even barriers as long as they are below the level of Advanced Magic Foundation.
_Note: Babin Maw Hook is a cursed artifact. Use it cautiously.
“Crazy item,” Erix exclaimed. “And powerful.”
“But it didn’t tell any details about its curse,” Rin frowned.
“Yeah, it’s powerful, but…Its note is worrying,” Isabella was slightly worried upon learning that it was a cursed item.
“Worry not, I’ll able to sense if something goes wrong with me or within me,” Erix said before he put the item into his inventory. “Also, this item is more situational rather than constant use. We will only use it to our advantage if we require its effect in any strange place or situation.”
“Alright, that should be fine,” Rin nodded, put her item chest back into her inventory, and smiled. “Isabella-sis. Let’s not open the item box for now. Since Erix’s item box upgraded, our box might upgrade if we do more action and adventure, haha.”
“Alright,” Isabella wryly smiled. “But let’s hope we don’t get a cursed item.”
“I doubt that,” Erix shook his head.” I had another notification that some external influence specified the item. Could it be that woman we met?”
“Oh?”
Rin and Isabella were surprised.
“Yep. So, I think I was given this cursed artifact for a specific reason,” Erix mused. “I’ll check it when we enter Limitless Plane.”
…
The journey continued, and an hour soon passed as they finally saw Phoenix City and the giant Labyrinth Tower up close.
It was truly massive and made an otherwordly, magical sight.
And to the trio’s surprise, the city looked way more lively than they expected.
“Hey, are you new faces and just arrived here?!”
“Haha, all of you look strong.”
They saw a group of three people in their twenties flying on a big khaki carpet as they approached them.
“We are external members of the SkyKnight guild. If you want to join us, approach that white medieval castle at the meadow.”
“If you are strong enough and pass their test, you can be an official member. If not, then you can become an external member and join teams for expeditions and training. They are helpful compared to the rest, and our community is more cohesive.”
“And if you got a Craft-Job Grimoire, you are in luck. That’s a super rare reward that only three people here have, and everyone is searching for one. Any guild will easily welcome you if you got Alchemy, Mystic Chef, or Magic Smith grimoire.”
After saying that, the gang left and went about their business.
“It seems that they are the marketing team of SkyKnight guild,” Erix chuckled.
“Let’s go to the meadow! We’ll establish our guild first,” Rin excitedly smiled.
While flying towards the meadow and approaching the Labyrinth Tower near, Erix, Rin, and Isabella were constantly surprised by the number of people roaming in the groups throughout the city.
And when they neared the meadow, they were even more shocked upon seeing a variety of unique buildings at nine different spots in the meadow! Each area had a unique bundle of buildings of varying sizes and of different ages, ranging from ancient, unknown elegance, eastern traditional, western style, medieval, fantasy magical, and even futuristic.
Naturally, the entry of the Sanguinite Eagle didn’t attract much attention because they had already seen three flying beasts with groups of people riding on them!
“That board…” Rin’s eyes caught something as she looked at a Japanese-style yet more aesthetically designed and structured castle with huge words carved in elegant calligraphy.

“That’s my parents…I think,” Rin said as her heartbeat quickened. She turned to Erix with a slightly flushed face. “Erix, there.”
Erix smiled and commanded Sangle to descend to the Heavenly Melody guild’s area.
“Rin, they are definitely your parents,” Erix said with a smile. Rin had told him that her family’s dojo name was Heavenly Melody Dojo.
“Of course!”
Rin had confidence in her parents, but believing without knowing and finally seeing still impacted her.
“That guild is among the biggest here,” Isabella said in surprise as she compared the area size of the nine guilds. Only two other guilds matched the area size of the Heavenly Melody guild.
The guild area had four buildings. The biggest was the castle. Aside from that, there was an open-air pavilion to the castle’s left, a small mansion to the castle’s right, and a pond pavilion behind the castle. Last but not least, two dungeon gates stood beside the pond pavilion.
“This is not a level 1 guild anymore,” Erix muttered since the size of the guild area’s border wall covered more than 350 square meters.
Soon, they descended outside the guild’s area and looked at the big gates as Rin took a deep breath.
“Senior Rin!”
“Y-You are senior Rin, right?!”
Rin turned to her left and saw a dark blue-haired sixteen-year-old girl with a long ponytail standing with a shocked and joyous expression.
“Mia?!”
Hearing Rin’s response, Mia rushed towards Rin excitedly and directly hugged her.
“Senior Rin is here!”
“Someone call the Masters! Haha, Senior Rin is here!”
Her shout attracted many people in the guild’s area since all students of Heavenly Melody Dojo were familiar with their Senior Rin, who left four years ago!
A few of her relatives were also there. They were shocked and quickly rushed outside.
…
After a slight commotion, Rin, Erix, and Isabella were escorted inside.
As soon as they entered the castle, a loud boom echoed as if someone landed from the 5th floor of the castle.
“Rin!” A hoarse yet deep voice rang as Erix and Isabella saw a 6’7 feet tall long black haired middle-aged man with a condensed muscle figure covered by a karate robe rushing towards Rin like the wind and hugging her.
“Hahaha! I knew my daughter would return safely! I knew it!”
But as he laughed and shouted, tears still left his eyes.
“Humph, whose daughter do you think I am?” Rin smiled.
“Alright, darling, now let her go already, and let me hug her.”
Erix didn’t even notice when a gorgeous dark purple long-haired woman wearing a light purple kimono-like robe with a black design arrived from behind Rin’s father.
She grabbed Rin’s hand and mercilessly kicked Rin’s father as he traveled like someone kicked a football and crashed into a castle pillar ten meters away.
“Mom!” Rin grinned and hugged her mother tightly, not even slightly bothered by how her dad was kicked into a pillar.
“I am glad you are safe and sound,” Rin’s mother smiled and caressed Rin’s head. “If you didn’t come here today, we were about to set off since we finally got the means to travel after settling people.”
“Ahem, Rin,” Rin’s father arrived beside Rin as if nothing had happened and looked at Erix and Isabella curiously. “It seems you journeyed here with these friends. Thank you for taking care of Rin.”
He slightly bowed with a kind smile, not matching his appearance.’That young man’s vitality and eyes are strange. A mutation?’
Erix and Isabella hurriedly bowed in response. The initial instance of this chapter being available happened at N0v3l.Bin.
Rin side pointed her hand at Erix and grinned. “Dad, Mom. Meet sister Isabella and her son. She is a cool mother like you, Mom.”
“And meet Erix, my boyfriend, my husband, my darling, and whatever else you two are to each other,”
Her introduction of Erix was no less than impactful than a bomb dropping as Rin’s relatives, dojo members, and her parents gave a momentarily dumbfounded expression.
