Supreme Emperor of Mist - Chapter 230
“Da Kui?” the hall manager showed a bewildered expression by the Crimson Mist soldier’s demand. Although he was slightly dissatisfied with how the soldiers work, the manager maintains a smiling face while looking at Qin Lan’s officer.
“This officer, may I ask what Da Kui has done to incite the officer’s wrath?” the hall manager asked. From his reply, it seems he was not entirely oblivious about the person name Da Kui’s behavior.
“Humph! Bring the old lady here!” the officer ordered.
Then, an old lady seated on top of a roofless palanquin was taken to the front.
“Old Madam. In front of this officer and the hall manager, please elaborate on what happened to your daughter. The House of Marquis will not stand aside and watch if the person was found guilty!” the officer said.
“This Da Kui from your establishment killed my daughter!” the old madam cried as she pointed at the building’s entrance. Unless she’s a professional actor, it would be hard to carry such an intense hatred and feeling of sorrow as she speaks.
“So what if my daughter works as a courtesan in the nearby brothel? She was my one and only family member in this world. She was just a musician, only selling her art and not her body. What right does this Da Kui have to force himself on my daughter and rape her?” the madam cried harder when she speaks about the misfortunate daughter.
“Ai… Get Da Kui out here. Tell him to take care of his mess.” the hall manager sighed as he hesitantly tells the door guard to bring the one called Da Kui out.
Minutes later, the Da Kui mentioned by the three people appeared. He must have been briefed with what happened while coming out. But there’s not a hint of remorse is seen on his face. Instead, there was a fearless expression hung on his face.
“So… You’re the mother of that woman?” Da Kui went straight to the old madam directly and ignoring the officer and his hall manager.
“You! You murderer!” the old madam wanted to stand up and slap the one called Da Kui. But unfortunately, her leg was too weak to support herself. She wouldn’t be here on a palanquin if she can walk on her own.
“Old madam. Is the compensation I give you weren’t enough? If you need more, all you need to do was just get somebody here and ask. I won’t be that irresponsible since I’m the one that took your beloved daughter’s virginity away!” Da Kui replied as he put his face closer to the old madam’s reach.
But he made sure it was a palm away from her.
“You’re Da Kui?” the officer asked.
“Yes. Who are you? Don’t tell me that the useless secretary got replaced because he was too compassionate? I’ve told you before, Manager Lu, we shouldn’t bother with random visitors that come uninvited.” said Da Kui.
From his tone, it seems that the people from the magistrate or Marquis were not a concern in his eyes.
“Behave yourself. This person here is the representative of the Marquis. His master is the new landowner of this Shuiyue County.” the hall manager surnamed Lu said.
“Sure, sure…” Da Kui smiled.
“This lowly one called Da Kui greets the officer. Don’t tell me you’re here just for the sake of this old woman?” Da Kui greets Qin Lan’s officer again.
*Xing!*
“Explain yourself what you did in the brothel five days ago.” the officer said as he pulled the iconic red sword of a Crimson Mist soldier out from its sheath.
“What is there to explain? Since it was a brothel, except going there to release my ‘seeds’ to the fortunate ladies in there. What else am I going for? To discuss marriage with their mamasan?” Da Kui laughed.
“So… You admit that you’re raping one of the artisans in there knowingly, correct? According to the law of Shu and Wu, murderers will be imprisoned until further trial to find if they’re guilty or not.”
“Capture him.” the officer said.
“You dare?” the sound belonged to one of the Middle-Attainment Bone Layer experts descended from the upper floors of the building. From his tone, he seems to be warning the Crimson Mist soldiers from taking action that they’ll regret later.
“May I know which expert is there?” the officer asked.
“Brat. Keep your sword back to your sheath. Although the quality of the Offensive Treasure was not bad, it is barely enough to compete with what the Hall of Treasure’s guard has. You wouldn’t want to be shamed in public, correct?” the expert continued.
“I don’t care from what faction you came. Here in this Shuiyue County, my Marquis is the landowner. This lowly one is enacting the rules that my liege has set as we move from one village to another.”
“Hopefully, this senior understands. Lock Da Kui and bring him into the magistrate prison right now!” the officer ordered.
“Looking for death!” a palm attack descended as the expert lost his patience to continue the talk. The strength of a Middle-Attainment Bone Expert came from above as it forced the Crimson Mist soldiers to stay where they are.
“OHHH!” a roar soon came from not far from where they are. Jin-Xiong fired a mouth beam at one of the building’s rooms as soon as it revealed itself.
“Gold – Golden Martial Beast?” Da Kui and Hall Manager Lu were surprised by the arrival of a Martial Beast about the senior’s cultivation strength.
Jin-Xiong sat down on the ground after firing the beam. On its paw is a struggling fish that seems to be caught from somewhere nearby.
“My – My Dragonscale Carp!” one of the owners of a nearby manor came out and cried as it was his beloved pet fish. But he was too late because the fish head was already in Jin-Xiong’s stomach by the time he cried out loud.
“You useless Martial Beast… Let this expert rip you apart and turn you into a waxed sculpture to be displayed in our Hall of Treasure’s lobby!” the expert stepped out from where the building was destroyed. His appearance was a tad unsightly from the surprise attack executed by Jin-Xiong.
“Come here! Let this expert teach you a lesson on behalf of your master!” with a curved blade in his right hand, the expert attacked.
“Senior! It would be a provocation to the House of Marquis if you tried to attack milord’s tamed beast. Please control yourself!” Hall Manager Lu said.
“So what?” the expert ignored the hall manager’s word. There’s only shame in his head right now because he was roughed by Jin-Xiong by surprise. Since he was one of the few experts in this Heishi Town with strength between middle-attainment layer and better, he felt the need for him to regain the respect he had lost.
“OH!” as a Yao Beast that loves to be challenged, Jin-Xiong was excited as the attack came. Acting like it was protecting the tail part of the fish from getting taken away, Jin-Xiong retaliates.
The exchange from two middle-attainment layer experts in their Bone Reconstruction Layer destroyed some of the windows and doors nearby when their attack clashes. Some of the public passersby were even hurt by the debris that got thrown everywhere.
Looking at the situation that doesn’t seem beneficial to him, Da Kui tried to sneak away from where he was standing. But he was unlucky as the soldiers were already blocking his way before he can escape.
“Stay right there!” the soldiers kicked Da Kui’s kneecap and forces him to kneel before the old madam. This time, he was in the old madam’s reach.
*Pia! Pia! Pia!*
Without further ado, the old madam immediately gives him three slaps as his cultivation was restricted by the prisoner’s cuff attached to his wrists.
“Old woman! You dare to slap me! When my father comes back, I’ll make sure that you’ll have the worst day compared to your daughter!” Da Kui shouted.
“This officer, can we handle this peacefully?” Hall Manager Lu asked politely. He had to come up with an idea before this continues to escalate further until blood is shed.
“I hope we can handle this case properly too. If there’s anything, speak to the Marquis and Secretary Qian. You should have seen this coming. This is not the first time Da Kui did something like this to the young ladies from the brothel.” the officer said.
“Ai…” Hall Manager Lu was speechless as he knew that such a day will arrive. But the repercussion from enacting this act of justice might be a double-edged sword, in his opinion.
“Then, this hall manager will try his best to relay this matter to the Hall Master.” he cupped his fists together and took two steps back.
“Jin-Xiong! Stop messing around! Come back!” the officer shouted.
After hearing what the officer had said, the Martial Beast immediately lost its mood to fight as it has something else to do. To Jin-Xiong, the officer was like a groomer that brings him to fool around looking for things to eat.
“Damn beast! Come back here! If anyone of you dares to leave this place, don’t blame this expert for dirtying his hand!” the middle-attainment layer expert warned them. From his tone, it seems that he wasn’t a simple character either.
“Really?” the voice that sounded so familiar to the soldiers came to reply to the expert’s warning. There was a hint of sarcasm hidden behind the reply.
“Who! How dare you interrupt me while I’m talking!” the expert turned his head over to where the reply came. But he shouldn’t have done that.
“Chi-Lan Marquis. Nice to meet you.” Qin Lan appeared right in front of the expert and handed him a gift straight onto his chest. The fist wrapped around with a thick layer of Foundation Qi crushes the expert’s ribcage without warning.
