“Teacher… Why must you take something as risky as this? Your disciple is sure that there’s something else that can be done with this Realm’s Mandate.” said one of the few individuals gathering on the tip of a particular mountain.
This place was the highest peak of this continent, known as the Mountain of Yuhuan Continent’s Pillar.
The outer mountain section alone covered six forests and two lakes. The size of the eight exquisite landmarks itself was more than capable of accommodating over ten countries at a time and still had enough space for more if needed.
The lake was about the size of a sea, and even a leviathan would look no different like the size of a glass bead dropped into the water. While the two lakes have less landmass than the forest and mountain landmarks, it was enough for one to two civilizations.
Next comes the inner mountain section, where it was divided into four different sections. Each one of the regions had a chain of hundred linked mountain peaks and their own seasons. Four seasons were found all around the regions, like providing blessing, prosperity, and life to what’s further ahead.
After the outer and inner mountain section is the zone known as Extreme Day and Extreme Night Mountain.
This was a place where Yin and Yang collided and came together. Each time the day and night shifted, it would last for a month. And whenever that happened, the ecosystem of this zone would go through a tremendous change in between.
Further past this Extreme Day and Extreme Night Mountain was the Yuhuan Continent’s Plateau. And in the core of this plateau is where the Yuhuan Continent’s Pillar was located.
The few individuals, all dressed in their respective favorite robe, looked no different from a child yearning for this person’s attention they called “teacher.”
He looks younger compared to the eight individuals. The Supreme Qi that was coming out from him was purer as well. It was like each breath of his was filled with the nourishment that could bring life to the continent below this Yuhuan Continent’s Pillar.
But today, the eight individuals were gathering here because they were hoping that they could change his mind from following what was written on this so-called Realm’s Mandate.
This mandate, which is made from unknown material, appeared out of nowhere about a year ago. The energy used to protect this mandate was even above the stage of cultivation achieved by the teacher.
Even with his strength and Supreme Qi, it was not enough to leave a dent on the Realm Mandate.
“Teacher…” another individual tried to get him to reconsider. But this time, his sentence was interrupted by a raise of the teacher’s palm.
“My decision is final. It has been too long that my cultivation stagnated on this Supreme Emperor Realm. Since the mandate has been passed down from heaven, then why shouldn’t I try to follow it and see how it goes?” the teacher said.
Their teacher seems to be set on the choice he had made.
As the highest cultivation expert amongst the three continents in this world, Qin Lan was desperate. Everyone was assuming that he had reaches the borderline strength of a Supreme Emperor Realm. But only he knew that he’s hardly stepping firmly on this step yet.
Although his Supreme Qi was pure, the one coming out from this mandate was purer by at least a hundredfold. This made Qin Lan feeling hopeful and hopeless at the same time.
Of course, the feeling of hope was much more significant with the arrival of the mandate in his hand. Feeling that he should give the Realm’s Mandate a try, Qin Lan daringly offered himself to be the first one to try it.
“Since the teacher’s decision is final, the eight of us can only respect the teacher’s wish and protect this continent until the teacher comes out from seclusion.” one of the individuals said.
“We will make sure to groom the younger generation properly and turn them into the pillar of humanity. Please leave the issue with the two remaining continents to us while the teacher is going for your retreat.” another one said.
“This teacher will be leaving humanity to your hands. Take this. In case the Demon Race and Spirit Race decided to invade us, use it to repel them. If all eight treasures were placed together, it could create a limitation barrier that would last for over ten thousand years.”
Qin Lan, the number 1 cultivator of this world, said while waving his hand across each individual before him. Eight treasures fell into their hand as they released a strength equivalent to Qin Lan’s current achievement and his cultivation.
It was believed that each of these treasures could be activated a maximum of three times.
In total, the treasures would protect them from extinction twenty-four times. Honestly said, this kind of protection can be said to be overkill.
If it’s not because he was a part of the human race, Qin Lan might be unwilling to spend so much just for their protection alone.
After leaving them with the treasures and his do and don’ts, Qin Lan returned to his secluded peak located at the Yuhuan Continent’s Pillar summit.
Only a humble wooden hut was built on this summit. But appearance aside, nothing that was used to construct this wooden hut was humble at all. If the material over here were to be taken apart and placed inside the disciple’s sects, it would immediately turn their sect’s training ground into a holy cultivation land.
Holding the mandate with both hands and going into his seclusion, days and night interchanged. Years went by, and decades have passed. Soon the count gets to the point of a millennium. One after another, ten millenniums have passed by.
When Qin Lan opened his eyes again, he noticed that the spot was no longer the summit of the Yuhuan Continent’s Pillar.
He was surrounded by cliffs on his back, and corpses littered all around him. There’s a deep scar on his left chest, which indicates that he was killed not too long ago. Even the blood on his clothing was still warm.
“Where is this place? And where is my cultivation gone to?” Qin Lan asked himself.
But before that, it would be best for him to check what exactly happened over here.
