“Disciple greets Elder Gongsun,” those inside the house came out all at once to greet the elder. It was followed by those standing outside next, including the bully.
Everyone was bowing towards the elder with complete respect. Except for Qin Lan, there’s not a single person present that dares to raise their head.
“This elder heard that someone was going to start a fight. Where is that? I thought it would be fun to take a look…” Elder Gongsun jokes. He did not tell the disciples to raise their heads either. This means, only Qin Lan had the chance to notice the elder’s gaze on him.
“I heard that someone is providing a diagnosis to the unfortunate disciples. Was that you, youngster?” feeling impressed by Qin Lan’s mental fortitude even after noticing his gaze, the elder asked.
“Yes, elder. It was this junior. If what this young un had done was inappropriate, I would stop immediately to prevent causing trouble to the Medicinal Pavilion,” said Qin Lan. Without base cultivation himself, he couldn’t gauge the strength of this elder accurately.
But if he was to guess, he should be an expert in the fifth or sixth stage in Flesh Refining Realm.
‘Why bother to act oblivious when you already know it?’ Qin Lan had the urge to laugh. It was already evident that this elder is the individual who decides from the shadow in providing the herbs Qin Lan requested.
If that wasn’t the case, those medicinal plants and pills wouldn’t be coming in an appropriate box to retain their medicine efficiency. Furthermore, who would simply take their own medicinal cauldron out and allow an outsider to use it without the elder’s order?
Even if that medicinal cauldron was a simple single-fire inlet, a product like this would still cost ten to twenty Flesh Tempering Pills to purchase. Furthermore, he’s not unfamiliar with the strict requirement of what a Pill Refiner needs.
The same medicinal cauldron could be priced from ten to a hundred Flesh Tempering Pills depending on their made, purpose, and material used. Of course, the only Qin Lan had on the table was the most basic one and likely the cheapest one.
“Ah… No wonder there’s a hint of reverence from the outer disciples while looking at you. It would be a shame to let someone with your degree of skills go unappreciated. Would you consider accepting this elder’s invitation to join our Iron Flesh Sect?” Elder Gongsun said.
The elder’s words made everyone turned their head to look at Qin Lan properly.
Although this is not something that rarely happened in the Iron Flesh Sect, Qin Lan was invited to join the sect means his talent was much better than most of them here. Still, this was the first time they witnessed an elder showing interest in someone like Qin Lan.
“Since the elder was here in purpose to invite this junior, it would be disrespectful to go against the elder’s wish. Junior can only agree and be thankful for the elder’s high hope and recommendation.” Qin Lan cupped his hands in reply.
After these two days with the outer disciples, he found out that the sect was nothing like what he had assumed before this. This itself made him feel that the Iron Flesh Sect wasn’t as terrible as he had thought.
This is why he doesn’t even need to think twice before answering the elder.
“Good lad. Here, take this Iron Heart Token.” the elder casually took a piece of wood out from his pouch and tossed it over to Qin Lan’s hand. He looks unbothered while doing so, but the disciples surrounding them seems to have a mixture of emotion in them.
‘Iron Heart Token! That’s the Iron Heart Token!!!’ their heart was filled with jealousy while staring at how Qin Lan catches the wood token that was thrown at him.
After keeping the token in his pouch, Qin Lan cupped his hand and bowed towards Elder Gongsun again. A hint of a smile was plastered on his face as he felt the outer disciples’ envy and jealousy.
He might be clueless about what this Iron Heart Token could do, but that doesn’t mean he is oblivious about the importance of this wood token. If this was a mere disciple tag, he wouldn’t be the star of attention in everyone’s eye right now.
“Thank you, elder.” Qin Lan said.
“En. Since there is no fight for me to watch here, I’ll go back to my broken pavilion for a nap. All of you, make sure you behave yourself, alright? Use your time wisely to cultivate, not fooling around. Entertainment is essential, but cultivation is even more.”
“Without strength, you’re nothing but the particle of Spiritual Qi around us. But with strength…” the elder speaks casually without hinting to whom he was talking to. But as his tone was getting softer while making a move, an explosion followed.
The elder just merely waved his hand and hardened his stance towards the boulder below his feet. That simple movement of his seems easy, but it was powerful enough to shatter the boulder into a pile of rocks.
What’s more, he hardly touches the boulder with his hand.
“Boy, what is your name again?” The elder asked for Qin Lan’s name before leaving.
“Junior is called Qin Lan,” he quickly replied. Although the show of strength hardly surprises him, he still has to behave like it did.
“Good lad… Good lad…”
“Remember to buy me a few bottles of wine if you happen to go to the Mang Family Village.”
“Ouch… Look at this old man’s back…” Elder Gongsun suddenly turned into a senile old fool while leaving the outer sect’s residential area. From the look of it, this was how he behaves most of the time.
“Did you say (Fuck Me) earlier?” Qin Lan turned his attention to the bully, but before he finished with his sentence, the person had already gone missing from his sight.
All Qin Lan could catch with his eyes was the bully’s silhouette running faster than a rabbit.
He shook his head while smiling and returned to the house soon. Seated on the chair that gave him the comfort he was hungry for, Qin Lan hinted to the disciples that the diagnosis would continue as usual.
In the meantime, he had to ask them where exactly is the Mang Family Village.
“Benefactor, why are you asking about the Mang Family Village?” the village chief’s son asked. He looked puzzled by Qin Lan’s question.
“To buy some wine,” Qin Lan chuckled.
“You just need to ask my father to bring some the next time he’s here. That’s our village.” said the village chief’s son.
