Survival To Godhood - Chapter 143 A New Friend And An Old Enemy
As the end of the Egyptian calendar year ended, the City of Ra was in celebration. Even though the civilization didn’t progress cultivation wise, they did advance technologically. Their airships floated around the city and fired rockets into the air. Explosions similar to Earth’s fireworks covered the sky.
The City of Ra was welcoming in the new year celebrating the new High Vizier and Pharaoh. Ramses had his people provide free food to everyone within his territory on this day. The celebration went way into the night, and as the sun rose in the distance, Ramses looked to Leo.
“Master, I must thank you. Whatever comes from these battles, know the City of Ra is in your debt.”
for visiting.
“Ramses, no need for any of that. Fate brought us together. I will do what I can to help.”
As the sun rose across the sky, the City of Ra settled down. In the distance, several fleets of ships were heading towards them. Every city decided to get to Ra first. The two fleets closest were from the City of Seth and the City of Amun.
When two groups of ships arrived outside the city walls, the Pharaoh was notified. Ramses and Leo loaded into a vessel and headed out of the city.
Seeing Ramses arrive, the Pharaoh from Seth sent him a comms request. “Ramses, this is Almot VII. I wish to challenge you.”
Almost seconds later he received Amun XXI request. “I, Amun, wish to challenge Ramses in the Battle of Pharaohs.”
Receiving the two messages, Ramses looked at Leo. “What should I do?”
“Accept both challenges. Who is weaker in your opinion?”
“Hmm…I would say Amun. He is my age and shouldn’t be that far along.”
“Good, what level is he at?”
“He should be at the Khat stage 2.” In Egyptian cultivation, the Khat is the physical body. It is the same thing as Tempering Body level.
“Alright, hold back when you face him not to alert Almot to your real strength. Almot is the one who killed your father, correct?”
“Yes…he is,” Ramses responded, gritting his teeth. Ramses wanted more than anything to kill Almot.
Seeing the pain in Ramses face, he knew that pain. “Tell Almot you will face him next.”
“Yes, Master.” Ramses got on the comms and messaged the two Pharaohs. He then had the ships land on the surface of Duat. Since he agreed to Amun’s challenge first, Amun left his carrier with several of his soldiers.
Ramses left his ship with Leo and royal guards following. Ramses was a bit nervous, but also excited. He wanted to show Leo all of the fruits of his hard training.
In Almot’s ship, he was cursing. “That scared brat chose not to face me first. I will slay him like his father.” Ramses’ grandfather killed Almot’s father. To Almot, blood for blood would quell his anger.
“Father, who is that being behind him?” asked Almot’s son pointing at Ramses.
Almot felt a strange sense of fear coming from him. The mana aura from Leo felt like an endless abyss. “I don’t know, but his cultivation must be beyond that of the Khat.”
Leo sensed Almot and his men staring at him. He decided to scare the man a bit. Leo sent the entire fleet a mana message. “keep looking, and I shall remove all of your eyes.” Leo was never a ruthless person, but he learned only power received respect.
The entire fleet shuttered in fear. Not even Almot himself continued looking. Almot started to shake in fear. This one-man could destroy his whole army. He might have to stay his hand when fighting Ramses or face repercussions he couldn’t handle.
All of this happened in mere seconds, and Ramses had no idea what was going on around him. He solely focused on the man before him. Amun and Ramses faced off.
“Ramses XV, I challenge you.”
“Amun XXI, I accept.”
The two charged at each other. Both wielded two sticks in hand. Their sticks collided with each other parring the other’s attack. Ramses was holding back his strength not to blow Amun away.
Amun seeing that he was an even match activated his family’s Khat level technique or charging his weapons with light mana. The sticks began to glow.
“Amun-Ra!” As Amun swung the sticks down and bright light burst from the sticks blinding Ramses. The rods were about to slam into Ramses when he was reminded what Leo told him. Ramses allowed himself to be slammed down into the ground.
Amun switched to under grip and stabbed downward with his sticks. Ramses pushed the ground leaping backward to miss the follow-up attack.
Seeing Amun exhausted from using his mana almost exhausted, Ramses rushed forward. “Ascending Sun!” Swinging his stick upward full of yang mana, Ramses smacked Amun under the chin knocking him out in one blow.
In battle, you are allowed to kill the other Pharaoh, but could also choose to spare your opponent. Not every Pharaoh was as savage as Almot.
With Amun knocked out, Ramses bowed and said, “thank you for the bout, Amun. Train hard and face me next Battle of Pharaohs.” Ramses was sincere when he said those words. Amun only challenged him because it would probably be the only victory he could achieve sense every other Pharaoh battled in the last competition.
Seeing that Amun was defeated, his people came over to retrieve him. Ramses called over one of them, and the servant didn’t dare look the Pharaoh in the eyes.
“Give this to Amun. Tell him the City of Ra wishes to be friends.” Ramses handed the servant a crystal that Leo infused himself. It was about five times better than the ones last place ruler would receive. The servant nodded and accepted the gift. He then ran to his Pharaohs side, and they headed to their ships.
Almot seeing the display of fairness between them disgusted him. He got out of his ship and walked towards Ramses.
“Great fight, Pharaoh of Ra. You made that look so easy and barely look exhausted at all.” Even though Almot watched Ramses struggle, he was trying to persuade him to fight again using flowery words. “Just like your father, I’m sure you can fight back to back battles.”
Ramses bit his tongue for not to speak something out of turn. He had to play the fool to catch Almot off guard.
“Oh Pharaoh Almot, Pharaoh Amun was a tough opponent, but like my father, I will face multiple opponents in one day. Almot VII, I challenge you.”
“I accept.” Almot declared. “Prepare to meet the same fate as your father,” Almot whispered under his breath.
Leo watched the events play out before his eyes. He sent a message to Ramses. “Be generous to your friends, but show no mercy to your enemies.”
Hearing the mana message, Ramses nodded to Leo and then rushed forward. Ramses wished for this moment all his life. He was usually a kind and gentle person, but the only fury flashed in his eyes. The two warriors collided and the battle began.
