Survival To Godhood - Chapter 156 Battle Of Thoth
A day before Leo returned to the ruined City of Ra, a fleet surrounded the City of Seth. The newly appointed Pharaoh, Almot VIII, stared out, thinking of his father.
“You have doomed us because of your revenge, father. Now we have no army to protect these walls.”
A communication from the fleet’s General sent a message asking for the city’s surrender.
“The City of Seth will never yield to anyone,” Almot VIII replied.
A destructive weapon fired on Seth, turning it into a desert wasteland. Just like that, the bloodline of Seth vanished.
“Should’ve surrendered like the City of Ptah,” mumbled the General. “Fleet move out. Our destination is the City of Thoth.”
On the General’s order, the entire fleet flew to the City of Thoth. Soon Farshah would request help when his scouts reported that a fleet from Seth was incoming.
for visiting.
Keysol owed the Pharaoh for taking him in when he first arrived. Keysol flew through the air at his fastest speeds towards the City of Thoth. No one went with him because, in this world, not many could pose a threat to a Core Builder.
A fleet of ships with Osiris logo surrounded Thoth. A message from Osiris’ General was broadcasted out.
“Pharaoh of Thoth surrender or be destroyed.”
“Why are you attacking us? We have never been at odds with Osiris,” replied Farshah.
“My Pharaoh wishes to expand our empire and unite Duat under one banner.”
Farshah went quite. He didn’t understand why Osiris’ Pharaoh broke the unspoken rule and attacked them out of the Battle of Pharaohs. Thoth never had a powerful fleet. They were a neutral party that focused on the pursuit of knowledge.
“The city of Thoth, go to your battle stations and prepare for war,” Farshah commanded to his people. He then replied to the General. “We won’t surrender.”
“Have it your way, Pharaoh of Thoth.”
The largest floating hovering battleship landed, and a massive cannon came from its bow. A buzzing was heard throughout the city. Guards of the city began to board their ships and man the towers.
“FIRE!” Commanded the General.
Keysol had just arrived when the cannon opened fire. He was too late. A massive particle beam tore through the city wiping it off the map in seconds. The city couldn’t even defend itself from such a weapon.
“I was too late…” Keysol said, trembling. He just watched all the people he knew from Thoth die. Keysol buried his fury and then looked at the giant cannon on the ship. “That is not a weapon Duat should have.”
Keysol recognized that the cannon was a weapon classified as a mana particle cannon. Only advance lifeforms had this kind of technology.
“General, reporting a flying warrior nearby. The Pharaoh said if we see any, we should take the initiative to send out the drones.”
“Follow his orders. Release the drones.”
Keysol couldn’t understand where this cannon came from, but he had to stop it. He flew directly at the massive battleship. All of a sudden, a swarm of drones exited the ship and flew towards Keysol.
Keysol drew his sword. The drones surrounded him but didn’t attack. They activated the barrier entrapping Keysol.
“What is this?” Keysol asked as he attacked the drones and the shield, but as he destroyed one another would take its place.
“The warrior has been trapped,” A soldier informed the General.
“Fire, the cannon.”
“Sir, this will damage the cannon. It hasn’t had time to cool off.”
“This warrior can wipe out our entire fleet. Fire the cannon!” ordered the General.
A buzzing sound echoed, and Keysol turned to see the particle cannon firing at him. Trapped, he could only face the blast head-on.
“Adam’s Sword Art: Holy Strike!” Light mana encased Keysol sword. Brandishing his sword, he swung it to release an impressive wave towards the beam.
The particle blast tore through the drones and Keysol’s attack. The blast landed upon Keysol, who was covering his body in mana. An entire mountain behind Keysol was destroyed in seconds. As the beam vanished, the winged human scorched fell to the ground.
Back on the ship, “Sir, reporting the cannon has melted the main barrel. We won’t be able to use it again.”
“Tell the men we are heading back to repair the cannon. Also, send men to retrieve the flying warrior’s body.”
The General had sweat dripping down his face. The man he just defeated took his fleet’s most potent weapon to injure him. This warrior was like those gods from ancient times. He secretly praised his Pharaoh’s insight.
In last month, the cannon was built. A design the Pharaoh had come up himself. The Pharaoh even started to become even more domineering. It was almost like he had become a new man overnight.
The Pharaoh’s new dream was one he wished to see come true. He would use this new cannon to make the Osiris empire to come into fruition.
Leo and everyone started to worry when no word came from the City of Thoth. After a day or so went by, Leo flew there with Geph and Sepha. From their ship, they could see the only destruction. The City of Thoth was no more.
“It had to be those bastards from Seth. We are headed there right now.” Leo said with fury. Leo was going to let them off sense Almot VII was killed by Void Slayer.
Little did Leo know the City of Seth was also destroyed. Once he arrived, he was dumbfounded at who was attacking all of these cities. Without any evidence, he returned the ruins of Ra.
A few days went by, and the remaining cities fell to Osiris. The mana laid waste to any that opposed them. Many cities never yielded and were blown off the map. Only three cities gave in and enslaved. The Osiris Pharaoh had built his empire in less than two weeks.
An escaping band of marauders tried to hide in the ruins of Ra only to be captured by Leo. The leader was frightened when Leo caught every one of his men by controlling the earth below their feet.
“Why are you here?” asked Leo.
The leader responded right away. “Osiris is capturing all bandits and enslaving them.” Shia then popped into Leo’s mind. “They have destroyed every city and now are going after bandits.”
“So they were the ones who attacked Thoth.”
“Yes…yes, sir,” Politely responded the leader. He feared this god of a man who appeared out of nowhere.
“You may make camp near the outer wall, but do not approach the pyramid. I will kill all that get close.”
All of the bandits nodded. They didn’t wish to die. Leo released them, and they ran off quickly. The group wanted to get away from this place as soon as possible, but the leader changed their minds.
“The only way to hide from a predator is to lay next to another one.”
After telling his men, they all understood what he meant. This earth god could protect them from Osiris’ men.
Leo entered Ra’s tomb and announced to everyone. “We are headed to Osiris. They are the ones that attacked Thoth. I’m afraid they might have captured Keysol or worse.”
“Leo, we owe you a huge favor. Count the two of us in,” replied Geph.
Ever since Keysol disappeared, Dark Razor had been angry. He only had two people he liked on this planet besides his brothers. One was Leo, and the other was Keysol.
“Allow me to come also,” Dark Razor said in a low tone.
Leo nodded his head. With the four of them, what on this planet could harm them? Void Slayer seemed worried and looked at Green Tooth.
“You go with them too. This time your only job is to protect Leo.”
“Yes, brother.” Green Tooth responded dejectedly. He still blamed himself for when the Deicide chased Leo off.
Like that, five Core Building warriors left for the City of Osiris.
