Survive As The Brute’s Wife - Chapter 110
“Be mine…”
Alexandra was overwhelmed seeing the pleading eyes of Maximus. This is the man who has stayed by her side and loves her for who she is. All her life, she has met a lot of people. She was feared than loved for her powers.
And in her previous life, she was a nobody. A nobody who wasn’t smart. But this is the man who stayed with the annoying she and loved her although she never understood him.
“What do you see in me, Max?” she asked placing her hand on his cheek.
“What?” He looked at her, confused by her question.
“You know who I am, right? When you told that man that I am the daughter of the Dragon King… How did you know that?” she asked. “I don’t remember ever telling you…”
[Even I didn’t remember it in my past life until very late…]
“That…” Maximus squinted his eyes and looked to the side. “I don’t know… But I just knew… It was…” he kissed her cheek as his hands traced over her collarbone. “I just know! And I saw you doing many great things although…I was not there at that time…I don’t care!”
“Huh…” Alexandra lied on her back and he adjusted himself to be in between her legs.
[Someone put those memories in him then… Was it Father who did it?]
“Lexa… Lexa…” Maximus kissed her neck.”All I know is that I love you and that I want you… So be mine…”
Alexandra was moved by his words. As ever, he is the one who would treat her the way she wants to be treated – as an equal. And for him to desire her this much – she wanted him too.
She closed her eyes and her chest started to heave as his kisses spread on her neck. She clutched the back of his head and wrapped her legs around his waist.
{Stop this right this instance!}
She heard a familiar voice and her eyes ended up at the window where the voice came from. She could see the tower of the Temple from the bed. Large groups of clouds were accumulating around the tower and she could sense her father’s presence there.
With a wave of her hand, she slammed the window shut.
[Was that Father asking me to stop?]
Maximus chuckled in her ear. “Are you feeling shy now? You don’t want the Temple in your line of sight when we are doing this fun thing..?” he slipped his hand under her chemise and grabbed her waist as he kissed her chest.
«How adorable!»
Alexandra was not listening to him. Her eyes were looking in the direction of the Temple to watch if her father’s presence is getting near. Her heart sank out of nowhere. Fear rose from the pit of her stomach. For some reason, her father does not like it when she is with Maximus and she feared if he would send her back to the dark pool once more.
She started shaking as she hugged him.
[I don’t want to leave!]
Maximus sensed her shivers. “Lexa, what is it?” he asked seeing her pale face. “Are you scared? Should I stop?”
“No, no, don’t” Alexandra shook her head. “I want to be yours in body and soul, Maximus…”
“You’re shivering!” he fixed her hair and kissed her forehead. “If you’re nervous then-”
“There is someone else inside me and at times I get trapped…”
She decided to tell him the truth before she gets trapped there again. She knew if she cannot solve it, Maximus probably cannot solve it either, but she wanted to share her problem with him. He is the only one she could trust with all her heart.
“What?” Maximus sat up as he was shocked. “Someone else?”
He did see her acting differently these past few days and he never thought that it could be someone else.
“You believe me?” Alexandra sat up fixing her chemise and whispered, panicking as she looked at the window. “You noticed the change? You realized it was not me?”
“How can it be not you, Lexa? I knew it was not you…you…” he ran his tongue inside his mouth trying to explain. “But it must be you!”
“No, it was not me… There is some other soul inside me…” Alexandra told him everything she has seen in her deep consciousness. About the darkness, the song she hears, and the wisp she sees rising whenever she sinks.
“How..?” Maximus still was confused. “Your sword!” he pointed at her ring as he remembered. “Only you can touch your sword. Even I couldn’t touch it now… I thought you were sick. Ithildin said that a spell is keeping you… It should be something else. There can’t be another soul inside you! If there is someone else inside you, how can that soul not be burnt by your sword..?”
He couldn’t understand a thing.
“You can’t touch it?” she removed her ring and in her hands, it turned to the sword with a flash of bright light. “Here, try…” she offered the sword.
Maximus remembered the scalding feeling and he was a little afraid to touch the sword, but since she is offering, he reached for it and gingerly touched it with just his fingertips.
His eyes widened and he reached further and grabbed the sword.
“It’s not scalding anymore!” he was surprised holding the sword.
“See! You can always touch my sword, Tubby… I would always let you to… But that other one…” she looked at him and Maximus held her shoulder not knowing what to say.
«She is right! There is someone else inside her! Who is that?»
Now he got scared too.
“What should we do?” He asked. “Do you have any idea who it might be?”
“I am not sure…” Alexandra shook her head. She got more scared.
Till now she thought that Wispy is someone not dangerous to Maximus. Wispy is just a careless person and she often put her body to harm, but she never hurt others.
But if Maximus got scalded by her sword when Wispy is controlling her body…
[She is dangerous! What else will she do to Max? I should stop her from gaining control again!]
Maximus was not caring about himself, but for Alexandra. She is someone very powerful and if someone could trespass her boundary and end up living in her body… how dangerous would that person be?
«That other soul should be driven out!»
As both of them looked at each other unsure of what to do next, Alexandra suddenly jumped down the bed and ran towards the window. She opened the window just an inch and looked out.
“What? Is there someone watching?” Maximus stood behind her and asked.
“My Father…” she whispered and pushed him away. She was scared that her father would hurt Maximus in his anger. “Stay back…”
Maximus didn’t stay back and tried to pull her behind him.
“Will you just stay back?” Alexandra was annoyed. He cannot protect her from her father if her father decides to take her back.
No one can.
She saw the dark cloud still getting darker and lightning started flashing all over painting an eerie picture over the Temple. She could hear prayers being said to the gods as the Priests must have sensed the anger of the Dragon King.
The clouds were moving eerily as they suspended over the tower and she saw them converging to form an eye – A very big eye. And it was looking at her directly. Alexandra’s heart skipped a beat.
[I am finished!]
Alexandra whimpered and took a step back. Her eyes filled with tears and her chest started to heave as she tried to control her sobs.
[Don’t send me back there…please… I am scared to go back there… Father, please…]
She saw the eye looking at her. The iris of the big eye had the darkest clouds and as she took a step back, it started to rain. There was rain pouring from just the dark clouds at the center of the eye figure. It made it seem like the eye was crying.
As she watched, the clouds started to dissipate and Alexandra could feel her father’s presence leaving.
She plopped on the ground and Maximus kneeled behind her and held her. “What is it?”
“He left, Max… My father left…” she hugged his arm and the tears she was holding back started to fall.
“There… there…” Maximus patted her head.
She was shivering and he hugged her. He got scared. He has never seen her this scared before.

“Stop crying, Aredil!” Goddess Alta pushed her husband away from her lap.
Her idiotic husband descended to the earth just to disturb their daughter’s alone time with her husband and when she was scared of him, he returned and is crying lying on her lap.
“She thinks I am some evil force trying to actively hurt her,” Aredil wiped the corner of his eyes. “How could she!”
“Oh, shut up!” Goddess Alta shook her head. “You did trap her and you descended to intimidate her. Don’t pretend that you are not relieved that you’ve scared her not to consummate her marriage!”
She was truly mad at her husband. What kind of father is he?
“She’s a child! How can she lose her innocence this young? That man is a vile-”
“I am not talking to you!” Goddess Alta stood up and left the room.
She should find a way to communicate with her daughter.. She should be happy not minding her idiotic father.
