Survive As The Brute’s Wife - Chapter 124
“Get up!” Alexandra pushed away the man lying on her chest.
She was hungry and by the light outside, she could conclude that it is noon already. But this guy keeps her on the bed. As much as she enjoys the tangle they do on the bed, she needs to eat.
She pulled down the spell she put up. She has consummated her marriage with Tubby and she didn’t think her father would do anything after the fact. She still didn’t understand why her father didn’t oppose the marriage, but just the consummation.
[Well, he is a weird one. Who knows what he is thinking? Mother has too much patience to be with him…]
She observed if there is someone in the hallways. She knew Flavia would be waiting to get in. And Flavia would bring nice smelling food without even asking. She waited to eat tasty food.
“No,” he rubbed his cheek on her sore chest.
“Aren’t you supposed to look after me, Tubby? I am hungry and is this what you are going to do?” she decided to play the pity card. She knows that nothing works better on this guy other than the pity card.
“You’re hungry? Why didn’t you tell me?” he sprang up. “You never care for yourself…” he mumbled and wrapped a towel around his waist.
Alexandra didn’t get up. She just watched the sight of her man walking away. The morning sun painted amazing contours on his defined back.
[Oooh! Are those scratches? Did I…? Aww, dear!]
She laughed in her heart and continued to observe him. He walked so majestically. The movement of his arms and legs, his straight back, his forward look… He looked like a King. And yet, his ruffled hair gave him an air of naughtiness. He looked very handsome.
Alexandra wrapped herself with the sheet and stood up. She didn’t think that she should have to wait to get her breakfast.
She didn’t know where her clothes are at. Flavia should know that. At times she would wonder if it is the right thing to do by making Flavia do everything for her. She has lived all her life by doing everything herself. She didn’t remember getting waited on hand and foot.
[Maybe I should let Flavia take a rest…]
Flavia just then got a hot meal from the kitchen and wondered if she should knock. Her husband is nowhere to be found and she decided to take her mind off by cooking Maximus’ favorite dishes. Alexandra didn’t have many preferences for food except for her dislike for carrots.
As she was about to knock, she heard the door open and she was stunned to see Maximus in front of her with just a towel around his waist.
“Oh! For goodness sake! Get dressed!” she covered her eyes only for Maximus to chuckle.
“Don’t laugh!” Flavia pushed him inside without looking. “You’re not a boy! You cannot wander around like…”
She closed the door behind her.
“Go on…” her fruity voice echoed in the big room. “Wear some clothes!”
Alexandra could hear the rather embarrassed voice of Flavia and walked out. It is always fun to watch Flavia getting embarrassed or when she laughed. Flavia could singlehandedly lift anyone’s spirits with just her laugh.
“Flavia! I am hungry!” Alexandra complained. She had already forgotten about her plan to do her chores herself. “And where are my clothes?” she scratched the back of her head.
“Oh, dear! I know it is late. I will ask them to bring it in. It is already ready…” Flavia ran out.
“Get dressed, Tubby. Don’t make Flavia uncomfortable!” Alexandra pushed Maximus to the other room where she saw a dresser.
“Help me get dressed, Lexa… You have such beautiful hands,” Maximus held her hands and placed a kiss on the back of her hand.
Alexandra smiled. She was overjoyed.
“Alexandra, here…” She heard Flavia’s voice and ran out leaving Maximus.
“Lexa!” he called but she turned and stuck out her tongue before running out again.
“I am hungry, Max!”
Maximus with a smile walked to the bath area to wash. He’s been feeling stings all over his back and it could be the love scratches his wife left on his body. And just on her shoulders, he saw a lot of marks he left on her. He just hoped that she is not hurting.
Flavia insisted on washing Alexandra even though Alexandra told her that she can do it herself.
“Oh dear! That boy… how could ha have acted this violent with you?” Flavia’s voice shook and Alexandra was stunned.
“It’s nothing, Flavia… You should see what I did to him…” she grimaced realizing that she is bragging about an odd thing. But somehow that convinced the lady and Alexandra sighed in relief.
“Do you and Sir Julius… Do you still…?” Alexandra asked Flavia as she was dressing her.
She was curious. She very much liked what she and Max did last night and this morning. This process of coitus is very pleasurable. She wanted to know if there is an age-limit or something. She hoped there is no limits. Because she wanted to do it all her life.
And she wanted to know something about Flavia too. She wanted to know if Flavia wants kids of her own.
“Oh, dear!” Flavia blushed to her ears. “That… how… ” she struggled to speak, but Alexandra was not planning on relenting. She wanted to know and she will find out.
Flavia knew she cannot make this young lady back off.
“My husband has very wild desires and he doesn’t leave my side,” Flavia answered with her chin digging into her chest.
Alexandra knew she is not going to get any more details from Flavia.
“He must love you dearly,” Alexandra said. Anyone coud see that Julius loves Flavia very much. It is nice to see a couple who are married for a long still getting along very well. It gives hope to young couples.
“Yes, yes he does,” Flavia said and there was a trace of sorrow in her tone. “Undeservedly…” she added and Alexandra let out a short sigh. There was so much pain in Flavia’s voice.
[To be burdened by her husband’s love…]
“Ah, let’s not talk about me, Alexandra. You must be hungry,” Flavia changed the topic. “Here, see if this hairstyle pleases you…”
“Do you want to have a baby, Flavia?” Alexandra asked turning at Flavia.
And the next moment a loud clang echoed in the room as Flavia dropped the small mirror she was holding.
“Lexa!” Maximus came running inside. “Is there a problem?”
“I apologize … I…” Flavia gathered herself and tried to pick the broken pieces with her hands.
“No, leave it, Flavia… Let’s use a broom to clean it up,” Alexandra held Flavia’s hand.
“Ah, yes…” Flavia avoided looking at Alexandra and left the room.
Alexandra’s heart skipped a beat. Has she asked something she shouldn’t have asked? But she only wanted to help.
Maximus looked at her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
“What is wrong?” he asked as he sensed that the situation here is not very good.
“I asked her if she wanted a child of her own… I think she got offended by it… Was it an insensitive question?” Alexandra asked.
“You’re willing to help them?” Maximus raised his brows. He has never seen her doing it, but he had a feeling that Alexandra can help Flavia give birth to a child.
“Yes, but~”
“Then what’s so insensitive about it? She would be happy. Julius is the last of his line and he should have a child to honor his ancestors. He is not willing to have another woman and if Flavia could give him a child…” Maximus hugged her seeing her face still pale.
“What if she thinks that I mocked her or… I am feeling so sad, Max,” she rubbed her cheek on his chest. She never knows how to talk at times and speaks words without considering the feelings of others.
“Don’t worry, LexaYou never meant to mock her and you are willing to help her. . It is not insensitive!” he patted her back.
“And do you know how pretty you are..?” his hand traced along her spine and reached her neck. Alexandra looked up and the next moment his lips crashed on hers.
Flavia was back pretty soon with her usual smile and she served them breakfast. Elrich asked for an audience and told Maximus that the Ministers are waiting for him in the throne room. Alexandra didn’t understand the astonishment in Elrich’s eye though.
Maximus left the room.
Alexandra looked at Flavia and she looked normal. She wondered if she should bring that up again to clear things with her but then decided to wait to see if Flavia is willing to bring it up. She didn’t want to make Flavia feel awkward around her.
Maximus went to the Throne room and he was informed that his mother has left the royal city to stay in her countryside mansion to recuperate.
Maximus’ lips curved to a smirk.
Without even signing off on his edict to send away the woman of the harem, his mother has escaped.
«Well… I can wait…»
The minsters were all trembling in fear. For some reason, their Emperor is glowing like the sun. They could barely lay their eyes on him. And even after speaking of the insolent act of the Dowager, he is smiling rather than the thunder they expected around him.
Did he swallow the sun? And what’s with the smile?
