Surviving in Another Dimension: I Can See Hints - Chapter 31
After some thought, Wang Jue said, “I am also human. Judging by your behavior, you do not seem to suspect that I am the one who attacked your village.”
“Sir, please excuse me. I am the Great Elder of the Shadow Beings. My skill is called Heart Sword and it allows me to sense a being’s heart.”
The Great Elder looked at Wang Jue and shook his head. “When we were scouting outside just now, I didn’t sense any violent aura. When I saw you, Overlord, I didn’t sense your hostility either. If the people who attacked us saw us, they would definitely think of a way to get rid of us.”
Wang Jue nodded. I see.
Heart Sword? An ability that allows the user to detect hostility and aura.
Very interesting.
[Help the Shadow Beings find the truth. You will gain their loyalty. There will be a surprise before that.]
A golden hint appeared.
This was exactly what Wang Jue wanted. He had originally planned to find out more about the situation.
“Old man, no discord, no concord. Just now, my man also injured your clansman. I am willing to help you investigate the truth.
“I’m also curious about what other people there are in this forest.”
Upon hearing Wang Jue’s words, the elder was clearly taken aback.
It would be best if someone was willing to help.
However, he was still hesitant.
The Shadow Beings had never cooperated with humans before.
In the eyes of these monsters, humans were just a bunch of people who schemed against each other. They weren’t worthy of trust.
He couldn’t be sure if Wang Jue had any other motives.
However, for some reason, the old man had an idea after hearing Wang Jue’s words.
He decided to give it a try.
Perhaps it was because there were only six of them left.
Let us make a last attempt for this hopeless situation, this was what the old man thought.
“Very well, Honorable Lord. If you can help us find our enemy, we are willing to submit to you!”
After which, he bowed.
The five younger ones didn’t know why their Great Elder trusted this human.
However, they did not say much and chose to obey the Great Elder’s decision.
“That’s good. We’ve had a long journey back. Why don’t we go to my territory and rest for a night before making our plans?”
“Thank you, Lord.”
Wang Jue smiled and led everyone back to the territory.
After entering the territory, what greeted them was a flourishing sight. The farmers plowed and mined.
Datou was in charge of the Blacksmith Shop, Ertou was in charge of the Sewing Shop, Santou was in charge of the kitchen, and all kinds of soldiers were patrolling and guarding the city wall.
The Shadow Beings were amazed.
Previously, they couldn’t see such scenes from outside, but upon entering the territory, they realized that it was not as simple as it seemed.
This was especially the case for the Great Elder. He vaguely sensed a divine aura.
“The products of the elves, Lord, you have really splurged!”
The old man sighed.
He sensed the aura of the Gushing Spirit Well.
Wang Jue couldn’t help but glance at the old man. His experience was extraordinary.
The Gushing Spirit Well was originally a long extinct structure of the elves. I did not expect this old man to know it just by its aura.
Wang Jue smiled.
“Elder, you are well-learned, and I am impressed. May I know how I should address you?”
The old man cupped his hands and said, “Overlord, you can call me Elder Jian[1.Meaning ‘sword’]. The person behind me is called Hong Wan[1]. He’s my Young Master.”
Elder Jian pointed at the Shadow Being youth who had remained silent the entire time.
No wonder Wang Jue thought this person had an extraordinary temperament. He didn’t expect him to be the Young Master of the Shadow Beings.
He appeared melancholic, it probably stem from his hatred over the extermination of his people.
Young Master Hong Wan cupped his hands at Wang Jue, his expression neither servile nor overbearing.
Wang Jue nodded lightly.
Then, the old man began to introduce the rest one by one.
There were four people behind him, two men and two women. They were the Ghost Shadow Tribe’s guards and princesses.
Of the two guards, one was called Hei Hun[2] and the other was called Hei Yan[3].
As their names suggested, Hei Hun specialized in concealment, and his attacks dealt damage to the soul.
The one who had launched the attack just now was Hei Yan, who specialized in close combat.
Of the remaining two princesses, the elegant and lively one was called Zi Yuan, the older princess.
The aloof and beautiful one was called Fei Yi, the Second Princess.
Wang Jue nodded in response.
He also introduced himself.
As he slowly gained a deeper understanding of the other party, Elder Jian seemed to make up his mind.
He said solemnly to Wang Jue, “My Lord, thank you for your generosity. If you are truly willing to help us get our revenge, I am willing to provide you with the location of a ruin.
“In exchange for your trust, Lord!”
Wang Jue asked curiously,
“Oh? Please elaborate.”
After Elder Jian’s explanation.
It turned out that he had discovered a ruin previously, but there was possibly danger in the ruin. They didn’t dare to enter rashly and prepared to return to discuss with their older clansmen. However, when they did, they discovered that their clansmen had already met with misfortune.
“If not for that ruin, we would at least know who our enemy is!”
After he finished speaking, the old man started to cry. The few people beside him also fell silent.
After a moment of sadness, Elder Jian spoke again. “Sir, we are willing to show you the way to the ruin. Consider it our pledge of allegiance!”
Wang Jue supported the sad old man and said, “Elder Jian, don’t worry. I mean what I say. I’ll definitely help you find your enemies!”
Then, he arranged for them to stay in the hostels.
After instructing some people to tend to the guests, he returned to his residence.
Wang Jue began to make a plan.
It seems like I have to make a trip to the ruin mentioned by Elder Jian tomorrow morning. Everything had started because of it, so I naturally have to begin investigating from there.
The next morning.
Wang Jue went straight to the point with his plan. The Shadow Beings had no objections. Instead, they wished for Wang Jue to set off early.
It wasn’t appropriate to bring too many people on this trip. Apart from the six Shadow Beings, Wang Jue only brought Carl and Quina along.
They set off again, this time to a new destination.
The Shadow Being’s ruin, about 50 miles away from the territory.
The few of them rode on their horses and the journey was peaceful.
An hour later, Wang Jue saw Carl who was scouting ahead.
“Anything unusual, Carl?”
“Lord, everything is normal!” Carl said.
“Come on, let’s move on.”
Wang Jue’s goal was clear.
According to Elder Jian, their entire village had mysteriously disappeared, leaving behind an empty village.
However, there would always be traces left behind with anything. Wang Jue decided to check the village one last time.
Perhaps the others won’t be able to find anything, but Wang Jue was different.
He had the hints. Would the hints not be able to find what others couldn’t?
Just like that, they continued on their way.
The Shadow Beings, being people who lived around the area, naturally knew the routes in the forest like the back of their hand.
They led Wang Jue and the others to the northwest.
