Surviving In My Novel - Chapter 124
“Lord Zhou, we must do something before our sect is destroyed by General Huge P.e.n.i.s!” A bald elder shouted.
In a blood red hall, a group of elders and a devilish looking patriarch sat together on stone chairs. The patriarch held a contemplative expression as he listened to the elders shout at each other and talk about the problems brought on by Simon’s ruthless hunt.
At this point in time, Simon had destroyed half of the demonic sect’s forces. With most of their disciples abandoning, the elders and the patriarch had to feel concerned. They did not even know who they had messed with, so negotiation seemed like a long shot. All they knew was that a general had been methodically slaughtering demonic sect people with only a small force of Foundation Building soldiers. While this might seem like a weak force to the demonic sect’s elders, they now knew that underestimating ‘General Huge P.e.n.i.s’ would cost them more harm than good.
When facing an enemy they can’t comprehend, one must stop attempting to figure the other out but go and make it so the opponent is forced to attempt to finger them out. However, some elders thought that this idea was what Simon wanted them to think. Perhaps this fiendish General had been scheming from the very beginning to push them to attack him with their full force, only to kill them all in one fell swoop.
“Lord Zhou! We cannot be the ones to attack, the fiendish general is trying to trick us into bringing our top leadership to the slaughter! Lord Zhou, we cannot fall for his tricks!”
“The Fiend must be an elder of a secluded sect that we accidentally offended when we began extorting travellers for their gold. If I am right, he might not even be the strongest of his sect, perhaps we may be assaulted by an entire army if we do manage to kill him! I do not see a way to win, Lord Zhou!”
“Lord Zhou, I say we launch an attack and destroy his forces before retreating to the Azure Mountains in the east. No one would look for us in the mountains, there are too many demonic practitioners there. If we do this, we can stop the sect from attacking us while we retreat while getting rid of that fiend!”
The elders all brought forth their own opinions, hoping to get the patriarch’s seal of approval and move forward in the way that they most feel as suitable. As long as the patriarch approves, the demonic sect will move.
“Did you hear about the new device the general created? People are calling it a ‘landmine’, I heard it can even kill Core Formation experts like us! We must get rid of him before we all perish in horrible ways!”
“SILENCE! I, Zhou Jian, declare that the remaining forces of our sect will launch an assault on the enemy general’s base. Tonight, we will either kill the General or die! There will be no further discussion of this topic, all of you must ready yourselves for war.” The patriarch ended the discussion like that. As a wise person that led a demonic sect of a decent reputation, Zhou Jian knew that the only course of action is to get rid of his enemies as quickly as possible before he loses more.
At this rate, he may have to spend 10 years to rebuild his sect’s numbers. Simon had killed that many.
That very day, Simon had already begun briefing his troops on their next strategy. If all goes well, they knew that victory would come as early as nightfall.
“Soldiers, we have brought glory to the Divine Tempest Sect. I can already tell you that the elders are impressed by your performances and smile upon you.” Simon said with a grin to his troops.
“The elders smile upon us!” The soldiers repeated back with their fists to the sky.
“The demonic sect is in shambles and will soon launch their last ditch effort to destroy our small force. However, they will not expect what we are going to do. Tonight, we will not even draw our swords or set any more pit traps. Things will be much different, so much different that you can’t help but laugh at the misfortunes of these evil cultivators.”
“At midnight, we will lure a Nascent Soul Azure Tiger into our main camp and watch from the trees as the demonic sect attempts to ambush us. They will be in for the surprise of their lifetime when they are greeted by a fearsome beast that can even tear a late stage Nascent Soul cultivator limb from limb! Now, come with me so we can carefully subdue a beast!” Simon drew his gun and pointed towards an end of the forest which was closer to their sect.
“Now take this incense bait, it will cause the beast to feel sleepy and be more passive while it follows you all back to base camp! I will wait here and monitor your progress!” Simon shouted as he threw a bunch of random meat chunks at everyone.
“And do not worry! The incense will not cause you to become drowsy, just the tiger will be. Now go and get me a tiger!”
Thanks to his constant training and use of Qi to strengthen bamboo sticks, Simon had reached a breakthrough point yet again. Unlike before, he was about to break through to the second stage of Nascent Soul, a smaller milestone that is important nonetheless. If he managed to break through before his troops came back, Simon would be able to fend off almost any Nascent Soul expert due to his superior firepower and gun mastery.
KACHA KACHA
the sound of a breakthrough rang throughout the forest, but not quite loud enough for the demonic sect’s people to hear.
“1st Brother, the patriarch says that we will be attacking the enemy general’s base at night. How can we be sure that the enemy General doesn’t already expect us to do this? He may have already predicted this very discussion! I am scared… I have never been this scared before…”
“Yesterday, I sent a team of disciples to scout out the river area but they were all killed so quickly that I am made to believe that the general can read our thoughts! We cannot fight someone like him, I suggest we leave before we end up like half of our sect. At least we can rebuild. The patriarch might die in his stupid act of defiance, but we will live!”
“Who cares about this damn sect anyway? We are demonic cultivators! We can kill on our own and still survive. It is better to die free than die in the service of such a stupid patriarch.”
The bald elder finished speaking.
“I agree that the patriarch is indeed a fool. I also agree that we must not attack this fiendish general. If we face off against one such a him, we will all die horrible deaths that are fit for myths. Therefore, I will also be withdrawing from this misguided venture and live.” The eldest elder responded calmly.
“Very good, at least both of us will survive.”
“OR SO YOU THOUGHT, TRAITORS!!!” The other elders and the patriarch immediately showed up with their guns drawn and ready.
“HAHAH! 1st and 3rd elders are colluding to abandon our sect! We will execute you for this treachery right now!” A random fat elder shouted as he aimed his revolver at the pair.
“I am very disappointed in the both of you. I am indeed sorry but I will be demanding your lives as compensation.” The patriarch solemnly declared as he aimed his lever action rifle at the bald elder.
“Wait! Don’t shoot! This is exactly what the fiend general wants! He d.e.s.i.r.es for all of us to fight each other and spill our own blood without having to do any work! Can’t you all see that this is a scheme that is so well hidden that not even an immortal grandmaster could see through it? We are being tricked!” The bald elder shouted with sweat dripping down from his head.
“And you are saying you can see through this better than an Immortal Grandmaster? NONSENSE!” The patriarch shot at the bald elder, to which the bald elder shot a few rounds from his gun at the other three elders.
“YOU SHALL DIE FOR THIS!” The first elder witnessed the bald elder die after successfully hitting the other three elders in critical areas.
“DEMONIC ART OF EXPLOSION!”
