Surviving In My Novel - Chapter 74
Simon entered his quarters using the keycard that he received from the guide earlier. After entering his room, Simon had to note that it felt very simple yet luxurious.
It seemed more like a penthouse suite than an actual student dorm, and nothing seemed to be cheap. For a world that is mainly coated in crimson, this room was starkly different. The walls were made of white marble and the floor was the exact same. The furniture was a mix of wood and glass materials in a modern style with some matte black aspects in some areas. The was even a wide screen TV that sat across the room from a luxury high-tech bed.
On the bed were a set of remotes and switches that Simon knew could operate the entire room and change the harness level of the bed. It even included portable tables that could be used for studying and eating in bed. All of this culminated in the perfection Simon witnessed here. Even the bathroom was fresh and homely, being made of the same marble and a modern shower and bathtub. The toilet seat also contained one of those Asian jet cleaning devices that Simon once saw in an ad.
All in all, Simon had to rate this room a straight ten. Nothing could compare to the simplicity and aesthetic p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e he received from being here.
Upon inspection, Simon found his luggage on top of a black bench nearby an full wardrobe. As it seemed, the wardrobe was full of clothes that he could easily identify to be tailor-made for him. Each set was unique and represented a totally different style of fashion, ranging from street wear to eastern ceremonial clothing. It seemed like everything had been prepared for him in advance, probably by Malece. Simon of course knew that normal students would not receive this level of comfort, this obviously being a bit too extravagant to be the same as his novel’s descriptions.
From what he wrote, students only received a shared room that they had to cohabitate with other students of the same s.e.x. Although these room are not terrible, they are simply not as pleasing as Simon’s. If Simon were to sell this room to another student, the student would probably give their entire family’s fortune to obtain such a luxury.
‘Pfft…this is just too good. I wonder what strings that witch had to pull to get me into this room? I wonder what she’s going to ask of me when I get back. Probably nothing savoury, s.e.x being the most probable request. Whatever, what matters is that I still do not have a clue on who ordered Ripper to raid the Reaper mansion. My brother’s corpse is still missing and I am growing restless’
Simon jumped onto his bed and lied down for a moment, breathing slowly as he thought back on his situation.
“Whomever it is, they will die painfully. I will not utilise the witch’s help for this grudge, I simply do not wish for a larger debt that I need to return later on.”
“If only I could find this person…I would make their life a living hell.”
Simon was now sitting in the cafeteria, eating his breakfast in a secluded table which was situated next to an open window. Outside was the garden and the crimson glistening of a gentle morning mist, but none of it could enter the premises. The cafeteria was protected by a quality of life formation after all, bugs and dust can’t dream of entering such a distinguished place.
‘I spent all night trying to think up an effective body tempering technique, but I couldn’t come up with anything amazing. At most, the system will probably call it some bulls**t like ‘low earth’. Welp, life is hard, not everything is easy. Talking about hard…it seems like I will need some more time before I start improving my rank.’
‘This body is not coping as well as I would hope. It may be in tip top condition right now, but going any further would damage me internally. This body tempering technique needs to be finished before I start grinding again.’
“Hey, you. You’ve been staring at the garden for a while… are you alright?” A boy asked Simon from the table next to him. Simon quickly phased back into reality and replied with manners.
“O, sorry about that. I was just lost in the beauty of nature and the technicalities of the formation we reside in.” Simon said with a gentle smile as he sipped a cup of tea.
“Okay…My sister here has been staring at you for the last half hour and she says you haven’t blinked. She asked me to check on you since she’s a shy one.” The boy continued with a relieved expression.
“It is alright, I can understand.”
“Brother! Don’t just tell him! You are too blunt….”
‘Being at the 6th rank at only 16 years of age can really be annoying sometimes. Every ranks seems to increase a devil’s lifespan and attractiveness, but this just seems a bit too much. I need a more private place. Perhaps I need a friend circle to guard me against unwanted attention…’
‘I guess I will wait until the field assignment near the end of the semester. Every year they hold that assignment to find suitable candidates for military roles, I cannot wait to get out of this place to be honest.’
“Sir, sorry about that. My sister is not really exp-”
“Brother, he left.”
‘I want to kill. School is boring.’
