Surviving In My Novel - Chapter 88
1 and a half years later:
CLANG
“Morgen, you seem quite excited today. May I ask why?”
A muscular youth swung his greatsword like a helicopter, furiously sweeping in all directions. With his momentum, he could destroy almost anything in front of him. Another boy defended against such sweeps with his rapier, agilely dodging and parrying with light contact.
“Huff..huff… Foucon, In 4 months, we will be a.d.u.l.ts! We can finally enter the true hierarchy of the Demon World! Why wouldn’t I be excited?”
CLANG CLANG CLANG
Three more impacts were blocked by the one known as Foucon.
“Morgen, you might be one of the strongest in the academy, but can you really compete with Jazukal? He is an absolute monster now! I’m afraid that if I attempt to parry his blade, I would end up with half a blade and a gaping wound down my ribs!” Foucon joked with passion as he held his blade upright.
“He is already at the 7th vision of 5th rank. His prospects are endless! But even so, Mattricht is still the monster of our year. Being at the peak of 5th rank and on the verge of becoming a 6th rank, I am afraid we are both behind!”
“They are monsters that even geniuses like us can never hope to stand on the same level as. We should just take pride in our relatively good abilities as upper 4th rank devils. Our futures will still be good nonetheless.” Foucon finally concluded.
“Foucon, what about that Simonifirac guy? He seems tough, don’t say he’s another monster, we already got 2 monsters in this year.” Morgen sighed with annoyance.
“Funny you should mention that… You will not hear this from anyone except for me. Simonifirac is probably the most monstrous of the lot. There are rumours of some poor lads being turned to ash in the dueling platforms, but all witnesses say that they messed with the wrong guy. It was like talking to torture victims.”
“That guy is probably atleast a level stronger than Mattricht. But I would not talk about him behind his back readily. He might be a son of a Maquess, but he is definitely hiding something big.”
Foucon started sweating slightly at the thought of Simon showing up out of nowhere as if Simon had become the ‘boogeyman’. Simon’s reputation has preceded him. The smartest and most perceptive will know not to provoke him, and the rest hope they knew.

Meanwhile, in Hell:
SPLAT
“You should have left me alone.” Simon smirked as he wiped the blood off of his face.
[Rank increase: Exalted Entity Stage, 9th order]
The stages and such had become easier to equate to his current world. With this higher tier of rank classification, Simon initially struggle in comprehending the differences. However, this was temporary. Now Simon could easily tell that he had arrived at the peak of the rank system a over ‘Visionary’. One and a half years was all he need to grow into such a powerful monster, even Hell bowed it’s throne for him. But he could not care less, none of it mattered. He only wanted to get everything done and leave so he can rejoin Rose Guild.
“So this is how it feels to be at the peak of Devil Magic. I expected a bit more ‘oomph’, but this will do just fine.”
As for what Simon was doing in Hell, it was quite simple. He destroyed every single faction that would bring destruction on the Demon World. As for the Demon World’s true enemies, he could not care less. He had already helped them on this front, now they can deal with the easier problems.
The longer he lived down in Hell, the more he began to notice things. For instance, he found that Balor Tev was killed in a power struggle just a month before Simon arrived, meaning that Simon could not really achieve any revenge. As peculiar as it sounds, Simon never really got an antagonist. The world did not move around him, and things just died. That was simply the reality of the savage place called Hell.
It made him realise that life cannot really be described in writing. Although, it did not stop him from trying. Writing is something that he still aspired to improve in, however useless it may be to him.
“So now I am the emperor of Hell. There is definitely no other guild member down in this world, so I should prepare for my departure onto a higher plane whenever I am ready. However, it does seem that I still have some unfinished business that I must attend to.” Simon walked through a mountain of corpses towards a portal that he knew would lead back to his home. Glancing back at the mess he had made, he could only grin in satisfaction. After all, he did not ask them to attack him. Some idiots need to die before they learn common sense, and of course, they died. However, that also means that they will never learn common sense.
“I wonder if she has realised that I haven’t returned to the academy yet… I just love high level magic! With the click of my fingers, life is suddenly child’s play.”
