Surviving In My Novel - Chapter 90
“My lord, I just felt a rather terrifying presence… are you still in good health, my lord?”
A shivering figure dressed in a raven black suit, wearing a monocle on his left eye, felt his life at threat for a brief moment. Like a black hole that could swallow everything before him, it was simply dreadful. If he were to witness such a display again, he would probably die from the shock.
“Is this the power of the Blood Monarch?!” Someone in the lobby yelled in fear.
“It can’t… be… SHE HAS BROKEN THROUGH TO THE EXISTENCE OF LEGENDS!!!” One of the nobles yelled at the top of her lungs as she fell to her knees.
“Devil Magic!”
“Not the power of a Blood Monarch…. this is the power of the Blood Sovereign!”
“HAIL!”

Simon opened the door to Dahlia’s room with a gentle motion, hoping to not wake her. In the dark room, was a bed with what seemed to be a toddler already at the age of one or two years. Seeing this, Simon smiled seeing how his child was healthy.
“Little Dahlia, I am ‘papa’. I am here to bring you to a place where you can be free to be your own.” Simon whispered into her ear.
With soft red skin reminiscent of his and Malece’s and a pair of horns that bore great resemblance of his own, he knew that this child was his daughter.
Dahlia turned over and rubbed her eyes with her forearms, seemingly confused of who was in front of her and why she awoke.
“Who yoow?” Dahlia gently asked.
Simon’s heart aches after hearing that, it was simply just too cute for him.
“I am papa. Come, we are leaving.” Simon warmly smiled and opened his arms to receive his child.
“What about Mama?” Dahlia asked with a cute and worrying face.
“Mama? Let’s not talk about Mama. Mama did bad things to Papa. Papa can give you many things that Mama can’t.” Simon tried to kindly explain to Dahlia.
“But I want Mama.” Dahlia said defiantly.
“Mama is bad.” Simon sighed.
“But Mama loves me.”
“Papa also loves you.” Simon continued.
“Mama was there when I was born.”
“…”
“Papa was busy trying to become stronger to protect you.” Simon reasoned.
“But Mama always here.”
“I don’t wanna leave Mama.”
“Papa can make you strong.” Simon tried to convince her more.
“Mama can protect me Hmmph!”
Simon was at a loss. He had no idea how to convince this girl to leave and come with him to a better place. She was simply too stubborn and loyal to her mother. It would take huge force to take her away from Malece, perhaps enough for her to hate him.
“So what do you want? Papa can give you many things, you just have to leave this place.” Simon tried one last time.
“I want Mama.”
“Mama can’t come with us.” Simon said.
Simon was at the very least glad that Dahlia seemed to have quite high intelligence at this age. With the ability to speak coherently and respond to his words hastily, he was indeed satisfied.
“Then when can I see Mama?”
‘Never.’
“Don’t worry, you can visit Mama every once in a while.” Simon said with a fake smile.
“Yey!” Dahlia smiled and gave Simon a hug. With her face rubbing against his c.h.e.s.t, he felt the warmth of family for the first time in years. This time, he had someone that could rely on him for their future and prospects. He had a responsibility to become stronger for the future of his dear little Dahlia. As for her mother, Dahlia will learn to forget for all he cared.
“Now come, lets say our goodbyes to Mama.” Simon smiled and opened the door towards the throne room.
Out there, Malece was in the presence of a hundred or so Devil Nobles, all kneeling down in reverence towards her.
“Your Bloodness, Blood Sovereign of Destruction, we humbly declare again our continued fealty to you!” One of the Devils declared.
‘Hmmm… it seems like my little display of power managed to rouse the crowd.’
“I accept your declarations of fealty.” Malece responded with a smile.
Simon observed the scene from behind the throne and kept Dahlia behind him.
“We are in reverence of the Blood Sovereign. How can the angels ever try and destroy us now? We are stronger than ever. The celestial angels will fall beneath the Blood Sovereign’s feet.”
“You see that, Dahlia? Those people fear Mama. Those people you can’t trust. They are only loyal because Mama is strong.” Simon whispered at Dahlia.
“Don’t be like them, be strong and rely on yourself.” Simon reminded her.
“Papa, Mama said she will protect me so I don’t need to be strong.”
“Shush, Mama doesn’t know what is good for you. Mama doesn’t understand that you can be stronger.”
Simon smiled and squatted down so he could look Dahlia in the eyes. He place his index finger on her forehead and said a few more words.
“Papa only wants what is best for you. I will never do anything that hurts you. I only want for you to be able to protect yourself.”
“Okay Papa. I want to be strong like Mama. I want to be like Mama.”
“…”
“Don’t be like Mama. Why do you want to be like Mama? You can be anything else, you can be better than Mama.” Simon tried to convince her.
“Does Papa not like Mama?” Dahlia asked with a tear forming in her left eye.
“What do you mean? Papa is just unhappy that Mama did something bad to Papa.” Simon explained in basic words.
“Why can’t Papa forgive Mama?”
“Papa can’t forgive her because she did something very bad.” Simon again explained.
“Would Papa forgive Mama for me?” Dahlia asked with tears forming from both eyes, getting ready to cry.
“…”
“Why do you ask, little Dahlia?”
“Because I want a Mama and Papa.”
