Surviving the Apocalypse While Being Tempted by an Elf and a Dark Elf - Chapter 229
The six-armed woman only realized what was going on when Luke finished landing the fourth use of Fury Punches. Adding those twenty punches with the power of Heavy Strike, the woman lost a lot of endurance, eighty points to be precise… the result was clear on her face. The last hits made her lose all the air in her lungs. That also cost Luke some mana and stamina, but he achieved his goal, for the time being, he didn’t lower his guard, though.
The six-armed woman recovered a little and grabbed the ax with her six arms to split Luke in two, and while her strike made the entire area tremble, it ultimately cut no one. Luke jumped backward but soon returned with a flying kick on the woman’s face. The direct hit made her dizzy, and then Luke prepared another combo of Fury Punches and Heavy Strike. However, he saw Shalia creating an ice wall above him, and he understood that something was off. Immediately, he jumped backward, and then a long sequence of meteorites followed him and forced him to move away from the enemy. Luke saw the snake woman standing beside the six-armed woman in the next moment.
“My apologies,” Cresta suddenly appeared and said. “She suddenly felt the danger for her friend’s life and focused everything she had to reach this place.”
“Is that so…” Luke said without looking at her since he wasn’t interested in excuses.
“The other guy is about to be defeated by your friends, so once we kill those two, it will be over,” Cresta said.
Although Cresta looked as deadpan as usual, her clothes and armor had a lot of blood. Sign that she had been wounded and healed many times. So, things weren’t as simple as she made them out to be. Not to mention, Luke left his weapon with the six-armed woman. The snake began to heal her friend, but since it wasn’t her specialty, she was taking her time. Luke used that chance to dash, and Cresta moved to the side.
The six-armed woman raised the ax while she glared at Luke, and then he used Lightning. Raising a metal weapon like that hadn’t been a good idea since both of the enemies ended up being hit by the spell. However, the snake woman had some tolerance toward it. She then used a Firewall to block his path, the ones that turned even the air into something corrupt. Shalia tried to destroy those with her ice magic, but it was no use. To make things worse, the enemy surrounded them with those flames.
Luke used Water Tornado, and while he was inside it, he dived toward the enemies. The flames easily evaporated his tornado and burned his skin almost instantly. For a second, he froze due to the pain. Still, eventually, he recovered, only to notice that focus wasn’t healing him anymore.
“Those flames… they can cut down the effect of natural regeneration and healing spells,” Rina said.
Not that it mattered anymore since Luke was inside it, or so he thought, but then the snake woman began to decrease the size of the barrier to burn him again. Luke approached and then used Water Tornado and lightning to wave the concentration of the enemies, and at the cost of all his mana, he gained a second to approach them. For some reason, the snake woman just watched him approach his friend… maybe she couldn’t use any other spell while that firewall was active. Nevertheless, Luke landed a dropkick on the six-armed woman and then recovered his ax.
Luke prepared another attack, this time with all his might and by using his ax. The six-armed woman prepared herself to block it with all her arms, but before she could position all of them properly, Luke opened his mouth.
“HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!” Luke used Hoar.
He managed to stun both of them for a second, but even that didn’t make the fire barrier disappear. In the end, Luke attacked the six-armed woman, and her block failed miserably. She ended up losing everything below her elbows in two arms. She held herself not to scream, and then Luke prepared another swing, but then the snake woman undid the fire barrier and then used a Flamethrower that made Luke feel like he was in hell… the flames only lasted for a second since an ice pillar fell on those two, but the snake woman jumped behind while helping her friend.
“It is annoying how fast can she be while escaping,” Cresta said.
“You certainly don’t show that through your face,” Luke said.
In any case, those two couldn’t win against Luke, his friends, and Cresta, so they could only glare at them in annoyance. To make things worse for them, the ground began to tremble, and when they looked behind, they saw another fortress falling into the ground and becoming a pile of rubble… another of their friends had fallen. Their already small army had taken another blow, and many monsters began to disappear… the armies of Luke’s allies began to push the survivors into a corner. While Luke and the others were prepared for their next and all-out attack, they smirked.
The six-armed woman entered in her fighting stance, but something was off. Her hands were open, and her arms were too far away from each other. Luke and Cresta decided to attack, but then the snake woman made her move… she raised her arms, and a sphere of fire appeared on the battlefield. It began to grow at an alarming rate, and it also made the air emit that dark smoke… they couldn’t let that grow any longer.
Luke dashed toward the enemies and then saw the six-armed woman punching the air. He could tell that she was using her skill, but he couldn’t explain why and how it would affect the air. He understood it when he approached and was sent flying backward… she used her skill to create some type of barrier.
