I am back! :)))
And Jenny as well 🙂
When she came back she couldn’t understand their curious, astonished and baffled expressions. ”So many different emotions. Are you people ok? Uhm..?”
They were just silently staring at her. She stepped back as she saw them getting tense suddenly. ”What, what, WHAT? Don’t tell me behind me is a strange monster and is about to eat my brain?”
Her last words and her completely terrified expression, mixed with a fine sweat that appeared on her forehead made them all release the breath. The tension disappeared.
Celia and Daria lowered their gazes as they realized what they did. ”I am sorry Jenny. For a moment we thought you turned to a zombie. I guess that is your power.”
Jenny scratched her head as she looked ta them completely oblivious what they were telling her. ”Why should I? My power? What power?” She chose to not admit what is her power ever.
Celia got closer and saw her blinking at her without understanding them. ”Wait, you didn’t know? Did Mike know about your power?”
Everyone looked at Jenny with sudden realization. Daria held her hand and chuckled. ”I guess she didn’t even know but Mike wanted to protect her as she might be important later on.”
Jenny sighed and rolled her eyes. ”Ok, I am about to get insane. What are you people talking about.” It seems they didn’t speak about her shield power.
Celia held her shoulders tightly and whispered. ”You are a translator.”
”Ha?!” Jenny gave her you-are-weird stare.
Celia chuckled again while Daria hugged Jenny’s waste. ”Our Jenny is amazing. She can talk to zombies.”
At that moment something clicked in Jenny. ”Wait, wait wait…” She got out their hugs and started pacing. Then suddenly stopped in front of them and then waved her hand. ”Ridiculous. Impossible. You were all there.”
Celia nodded. ”Yes. All we heard were grunts and nasty sounds. To us, it looked like they wanted to eat you any moment.”
Jenny froze. ”Whoa, this is ridiculous. I am a zombie translator. Is that even normal? I don’t wanna. I want to be lazy and sit at home and eat good food, watch some movies, play games and get fat. Simple as that. No no no. You all can forget that. Mike…I am going to kill you. No, I will NOT, I repeat I will definitely not work as zombie translator. Hell no…”
Looking at her getting more and more agitated they were astonished. She had no idea as it seems.
Celia looked at everyone and shrugged. ”Mike already knows. Call him and tell him about the new situation. And get Luke on phone as well.”
Jenny happily smiled again and patted her chest in relief. ”Oh, so you understood what they said. Oh, I am so happy. You got me good. I got scared for a minute.”
Daria patted her shoulder. ”Nope. You are still a translator. We are calling the two of them so you can tell them what you heard from them.”
”Nooooo…” Jenny slumped on the floor and covered her face. ”C’mon. What did I do wrong, huh? I don’t want to do that.”
The lien was open and Mike’s hurried voice could be heard. ”Jenny. I know…I know…You don’t have to do any of those I promise. Just tell us what they said.”
She almost started crying. ”I… oh damn… They were one of those that have consciousness and I gave them weapons to go and save those people in the shelter. Ther are thousands of zombies going their way. They took two cars and will shoot as many as possible. Let’s hope those in shelter won’t kill them.”
Mike went silent for a moment. ”Jenny… I know what I am about to ask you. And please, please forgive me. Could you drive fast after them? Please? You need to save them as we need their help more at the water station than with zombies. Their lifeline is short and if they could help us…”
”Ugh…” She just rose her hands and then stood up. ”Two weeks. Even if the whole world is getting into complete doom. DO NOT bother me!!! Two weeks!” She yelled.
”Deal! Hurry!” He was about to say more but Celia took over the phone. ”She is gone. Talk to you later on. Bring trucks to save people. Hurry! We will protect her from this side.”
”Go!” Mike slammed the phone and with red eyes hit the red button. Suddenly sirens could be heard and people rushed out.
”All teams with trucks have to be ready, now! We are going for a rescue mission. People in the shelter are abandoned. Let’s go!” Then for a second, it was still but then suddenly a bunch of people rushed out half in clothes half just in pajamas and jumped into trucks.
A huge line of trucks started moving while Jenny came from another side with most dangerous speed.
This time she hit completely the gas and was running over a bunch of zombies that stayed behind while she could hear in front of her raging gunfire.
”They are killing them. Everyone… get ready and burn them. Be careful not to kill our friends. Hurry!” She rushed further and first fireballs were sent in advance and hit the zombies that were in front of them.
The closer they got the more dead zombies they found. Suddenly there was silence and she took the megaphone to enhance her voice. ”Wait, stop. We will help you. Do not get closer to the shelter, we fear they will attack you.”
The rest of the zombies smelled her and suddenly scattered. The group of zombies wanted to rush after them but were stopped by Jenny. ”My people will arrive soon. I will go fist with these friends. You stay outside and kill any zombie that tries to get near. After my people come, we will need your help with something important.”
The zombies nodded and Jenny turned around and entered the open door. But only silence could be heard in the depth. Daria turned the lights on and called. ”Anyone here? Let us know. We came to pick you up from the town. Please trust us.”
A creepy creak could be heard in the depts of the stairs and two eyes looked at them…
