Survivor Saijaku no Ore wa Hazure skill “Faker” de Tenshina Kanojo to S rank wo Mezasu - CH 58
“Come on, I’ve said mine already. Tell me yours as well, Rin-kun.”
“Ah~ mine was also the same.”
“The same, really?”
“That’s right. I wished I could be with Aoi this year as well.”
“Is that true?”
“Yup.”
“I am glad that Rin-kun thinks so too. But, that wish will come true today.”
“Eh? What do you mean?”
“Because it is certain that we will be together this year too.”
“Ah, ahh, is that so……”
Aoi’s frank statement and her big eyes looking directly at me were too dazzling for me.
After that, we went to a shop stand and drew fortune slips.
I think this was also my first time drawing a fortune. Aoi got excellent luck and slightly good luck as for me. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the same this time.
I was satisfied with Aoi drawing excellent luck. But, it was written in my slightly–good–luck fortune slip that happiness would come to those who weren’t greedy.
It would be nice if the coming year is good. While thinking that, I tied my fortune slip on the rope just like other people did and returned home. It was already past 2:00 AM when I arrived, so I decided to sleep immediately.
Although I didn’t clearly remember the dream of that day, it was likely a good dream since I woke up refreshingly.
It also seemed like we wouldn’t be studying these three days, so I’d like to spend my time leisurely. Even though I was thinking like that, my survivor terminal rang shortly after I had woken up.
“Beep Beep”
Monster hunting on New Year’s first morning, huh? Since I was in a temporary party around this time last year, I was never active during New Year due to other party members’ circumstances. Hence, this would be my first time conducting the first hunt of the year on January 1st.
It feels like a good omen in a sense, so I suppose I’ll have to do my best.
After I finished dressing up and wearing my equipment, I rang the intercom of the Aoi’s room, and she came out immediately.
“Happy New Year.”
“Please take care of me this year as well.”
Although this was an unsuitable exchange before monster subjugation, this greeting was the most appropriate, considering it was the morning of January 1st.
We proceeded to a shrine and finished our New Year’s greetings. Then, we headed to the scene with our racing bicycles. On the streets, other than a few people visiting a shrine here and there, there were almost no people as one would expect on New Year’s morning. So, it was a lot quieter than usual.
“Has Aoi gone to subjugate monsters on New Year before?”
“No, this is my first time. I’ve been living with my family until now, so I usually take a rest around this time. Even so, when I think that someone must have been in charge of monster subjugations like we are now, It doesn’t feel bad to be active like this.”
“Hmm, you’re right. Someone must have been doing so somewhere we can’t see.”
So, it is possible that we are being helpful to someone by going on monster subjugations on New Year’s morning. Certainly, it doesn’t feel bad if I think like that.
“Looks like today’s request is farther than usual.”
“Probably because there is no one to take the request.”
“Ahh…… it may be true.”
“”
This amount of travel time was normal when I was riding my previous bicycle. However, ever since I changed to this racing bicycle, my travel speed had gone up, and my chances of traveling for a long time had decreased.
That was to say, we had been moving for over 40 minutes already.
“But, it is about time.”
“Well then, shall we start our first hunt of the year?”
“By the way, Rin-kun. What is the first hunt of the year?”
“I mean, this will be our first monster-hunting this year, so it is the first hunt of the year.”
“Although I’ve often heard of the first calligraphy of the year, this is my first time hearing the term, the first hunt of the year.”
“I thought it was a common term. Or is it not?”
“I think it is probably Rin-kun’s original.”
I thought people were adding the first___of the year to anything they did at the beginning of the year. But was that not the case for the first hunt of the year? It seemed the term, the first hunt of the year, wasn’t common among survivors.
