Sustaining The King’s Life - Chapter 276
276: Be at Peace, Mother.
“Aagh! AH!”
Faustina heaved as the essence of l.u.s.t drew into the dagger, back into her own body.
And then…
Her staff’s broken gem—
Slowly grew!
The gem was growing on itself.
“Each of their essence is YOUR power,” he said. “Only you can stop the prophecy and end this.” Ezekiel said without looking at Faustina. “Go!”
Faustina did not waste time as she rushed towards the warlock generals.
“L.u.s.t, you fool…!” Said envy, trying to fight off Faustina. With the help of the duke, Envy was pinned to the ground.
“No… I beg of you!” Said Envy, trying to gain sympathy from Faustina, trying to toy with her emotions. He could use her human heart as her very own—
Weak…ness…?
Envy coughed blood as Duke Feuerlon buried his sword into his body.
“Faustina,” said the duke. “These are murderers. The lives of many will be lost if they will exist.”
Faustina thinned her lips.
“May God have mercy on you.”
**
The forsaken gritted his teeth.
The essence of all his generals were slowly growing faint, disappearing… How did this happen?
No, he has to calm down.
Lilith was still here. As long as he stands and Lilith still exist, then there is no need to worry.
“You…”
The forsaken smirked.
“Your family,” he said. “They served their purpose very well.”
The king did not hesitate, He charged towards the forsaken forward as he fought mercilessly. The forsaken averted each of his attacks with skilled swordsmanship and magic.
“As I thought, I would not be enough to defeat you.” The king of Feuersturm said as he chuckled lightly.
And that’s when the Forsaken realized it.
A stronger, fuller mana.
Someone was coming towards them.
A tattered dress and a staff with a full, cyan gem; black hair swaying in the breeze of the wind.
Red eyes that are very much like his own.
“Faustina.”
“Lilith—” Faustina started. “Has used all of her powers.”
“Everyone… I can see all of you.” She said. “I can see each of you.”
The king’s mana. The forsaken’s.
Everyone else.
Was this really the extent of her powers?
Faustina’s red eyes were blank, overwhelmed with such power that flowed inside of her. She thumped her staff to the floor, summoning magical beasts of light who now went to the warlocks, destroying all of them.
“You…” The forsaken gritted his teeth. He never thought it would come to this.
There’s no other way.
HE had to take over.
“Jonathan,” he whispered.
Waking from his long slumber was Jonathan, Faustina’s father.
He saw his daughter slowly approaching him, ready to strike. She was overflowing with power. Power that he never knew she was capable of.
“Father.”
“Faustina,” Jonathan realized who he was protecting. Slowly he turned around to see her.
Eula, breathing heavily.
But she wasn’t Eula; she had a strange dark aura around her.
Jonathan eyed the place. Everything was chaos and destruction. The warlocks were everywhere. They were summoned back from the dead…
And that must mean one thing.
“Li…lith?”
Lilith’s eyes widened. “No, I’m…” She smiled kindly. “Eula.”
Jonathan felt dizzy.
That’s right… she was Eula…
“Father.” Faustina then thumped her staff to the ground.
“That woman is not MY mother.” She said. “She is Lilith, the mother of all demons.”
“Faustina, what are you saying…” Lilith begged, trying to invoke sympathy over Jonathan.
‘That’s right. Your daughter is trying to kill your wife!’ said a voice on the back of Jonathan’s mind. ‘Kill her before she kills Eula!’
“Eula…”
Faustina thinned her lips, waiting for her father to strike back and protect Lilith.
“…isn’t here anymore.”
Faustina’s eyes widened as Jonathan’s sword then buried on Lilith’s stomach.
Lilith parted her lips, blood coming out if it.
“NATHANIEL!!!!” Lilith howled, calling upon the forsaken.
“Faustina!”
The king immediately took Faustina away as a giant explosion of hellfire sufficed.
Faustina’s eyes darted to the forsaken whose body was burning from the hellfire. He was slowly being transformed—
Half of his skin was burned as hellfire surrounded him. Darkness began to enter his body as Lilith began burying her hand to his heart.
Fausitna and the king watched as Lilith and the forsaken came out of the purple flames.
The forsaken now looked like a monstrous being that was reeking of darkness.
“I… kill… kill….”
“HAHAHA!” Lilith laughed. “Now, he will have no more purpose but to kill. My very own slave of darkness!”
Faustina trembled as she saw what has happened to the body of her father.
“Faustina,” the king held her hands.
Faustina clutched her staff.
“I will deal with this.” The king said. “This… isn’t just your battle.”
The king walked forward, and then slashed the forsaken. The monster howled in pain.
“Do you think it’ll be easy?” Lilith exclaimed as she coughed blood. “I used all of my black magic to perfect him!”
Lilith covered her lips.
“You are a powerful being…” Said the forsaken in her memory. “But you’re still incomplete. There is one person you are left to consume.”
Lilith eyed Faustina.
She wasn’t as weak as she looked, which may have been the reason of all their miscalculations.
But everything is not over yet.
When the king of Feuersturm is busy in dealing of the monsters…
Lilith will ambush the girl.
At least, that was the plan.
Lilith’s eyes widened as Faustina, in a flash, was now in front of her, holding her staff to slam through the barrier Lilith created.
“You…” Lilith then conjured darkness to imitate Faustina’s mother, just like what she had been doing thus far.
She cannot have all of her efforts go into waste now!
Light magic surrounded the place.
“As expected!” Lilith exclaimed.
The barrier had now disappeared; which was unexpected for Faustina. Lilith’s hands now were in her neck, choking her.
“Your mana…” Lilith licked her lips. “Is mine!”
“Faustina!”
Faustina bit her lips as she whispered a spell.
Light surrounded the entire castle as a giant magic hex was conjured from the sky.
Valkyrie-like warrior angels of light descended, along with phoenixes and magical beings of the ancient kind.
Lilith’s grip on Faustina loosened as she collapsed.
Faustina looked down on Lilith as she twitched and turn from the light.
Tears flowed down from Faustina’s cheeks,
“Be at peace…” she whispered, as she fell to the ground.
“…mother.”
And with that,
Darkness engulfed her consciousness once more.
