Sustaining The King’s Life - Chapter 280
Many years ago, the people of Feuersturm had suffered at the hands of the ‘forsaken’ who brought plagues, chaos, and destruction upon the lands.
The forsaken was someone who was a powerful warlock who made many people suffer.
But his reign was short…
“For he was defeated by the king and queen of Feuersturm!”
Lucian raised his brow. “Is that real?”
Elindei Feuerlon giggled. “Of course it is! It’s the story of the king and queen!”
Lucian crossed his arms, green eyes darting towards his father who was on his side.
“Is that true daddy?”
Lucas smiled. “Of course, it’s true. I was there too, see!”
Lucian puffed his cheeks as he crossed his arms. “Mommy and daddy are just lying to me!”
Elindei just chuckled before she kissed Lucian a good night sleep. She then turned the lamp off, and left the premises.
Afterwards, the couple went to their bedroom and sat on the bed, leaning to the headboard as they kept each other close.
“It’s been twelve years since that day,” Elindei said. “Until now, I still can’t believe it all happened.”
“Yeah…” Lucas murmured, kissing Eli’s forehead.
“Is Harten coming home from the academy?” Lucas asked.
“Harten…” Eli sighed. “He insisted he will be in Magierstadt for a while.”
Harten, Eli’s first born, who was the root of her love with the person of her past…
“I hope he’s doing fine.” Lucas said. “I know it’s going to be tough for him.”
“Yes…”
“What type of magic do you use, black magic?” A boy said mockingly. “Hey, don’t do that! They said he turned someone into a frog!”
“Hey! Don’t you boys have something better to do!? Get out of here!” A girl with a light-pink hair wearing Magierstadt’s Junior Student uniform went in front of the boy who was being mocked.
A prefect badge—the firefly insignia—shone against the sun. The boys realized who it was immediately from her light-blue eyes, pink hair, and righteous stance: a persistent, crossed arm!
“Eek, it’s Amber!”
They stormed out of the vicinity, leaving the boy who was sitting in the grass. Amber turned to the boy, “are you alright?”
The boy looked up at amber.
His eyes… were red.
“You…” Amber exclaimed, “WHA!!! ARE YOU THE PRINCE?”
The boy blinked. “W-what?”
“Red eyes, black hair…!” Amber leveled the boy. “You’re the prince, aren’t you! You look exactly like the queen of Feuersturm!”
The boy then blinked, not speaking at all due to surprise.
“I’m Amber!” Amber exclaims. “I’m the daughter of Count Beni! Amber Beni. Prefect. Student council president of Magierstadt Elementary!”
“Amber!”
“Rosemary!”
A pretty girl came towards them, wearing pigtails. She had a red hair and distinct, green eyes.
“B-brother Harten…?”
“Brother… Harten? You mean THAT Harten?” Amber tilted her head. “Not… the… prince—oh!”
Harten stood up. He was taller than the two.
“Rosemary.” He said, “I would prefer if you don’t tell Mom about this…”
Amber blinked. “You’re injured!”
“As I should be.”
“What are you talking about?” Amber scowled. “That’s bullying! We should tell a teacher—”
“No,” he said. “I would prefer if you wouldn’t associate yourself with me again.”
Amber looked taken-aback, which then made Harten flinch.
“I’m sorry…” He said. “I just… don’t want anyone to be in trouble because of me.”
Amber nodded. “I understand. I won’t try to associate myself with you anymore.”
**
“…you said that specifically.”
Harten exclaimed, turning to Amber who was now eating beside him in the cafeteria.
“That was last, last, last, last year! How many years was it again… I forgot! This is the last of junior year now, so I tend to forget stuff~” Amber exclaimed.
“No, last year you still said…”
Amber teared up. “So, you… want me gone? Even though we’re best friends now?”
Harten shook his head. “No, Amber—don’t cry! I want you here… close… with me…” He then blushed furiously.
“Then!” Amber immediately smiled. “I’ll be here with you always~”
“Amber…”
“Vice President.”
Harten then lifted his gaze, only to see him.
“Oh! President Prince!”
Blond hair, blue eyes. The king’s exact replica. The girls around him squealed as they saw the first born of Feuersturm.
“I see you’re still with my cousin, the duke’s son.”
“Theo—”
The prince immediately ignored him but smiled warmly at Amber. “Amber, do you have a partner at the school prom?”
“Oh my god, the president prince is asking the vice president for a dance!”
“What about Harten? Isn’t he next in line at the ducal house in Feuersturm? Besides, he can ensnare the throne if he would want to because he’s older than prince Theodore…”
“Shh! Don’t discuss that here!”
“It’s a pretty heated topic. Everyone’s saying they’re rivals. On the throne, on academics, magic, and… on vice president Amber!”
“What do you say, Amber?” Said the prince. “Will you go on the school prom with me?”
.
.
.
“Truly,”
An old hag in a small shack deep in the mountains chuckled as she looked down on her magical orb, looking at the pink-haired girl who was in between the two men who resembled darkness and light.
“It seems that no matter how you twist or bend fate…” The hag let out a sinister smile. “It always comes back to its fresh, original state.”
As they have said.
Every ending,
Is a new beginning.
For better,
Or for worse…
Who wonders?
The prophecy… “I wonder if this time, it can finally be fulfilled?”

Afterword
At first, I was just playing with the idea of the Heilen name and then I was able to invoke the idea of Sustaining the King’s Life. Originally, Faustina was meant to be a product of an experiment on Assiah, but I disregarded the idea because it totally would not make sense.
I started writing this book when I was 16, at September 2019. It was just a raw idea then, and as the years passed the idea changed and has come into what it is now.
The forsaken was indeed Faustina’s father when I wrote the first chapters, it was already a secret and I dropped the hints when Faustina asked the forsaken why he knew her name. Either way, there was the original idea that she was an experiment lololol ;-;
ANYWHO!
I’m happy that there are people who read my book. You do not know how much it made me happy, so I was really torn into going to a hiatus, but I badly needed it… and so I came back as soon as I can to finish the novel and rushed to release the chapters because I was gone for 6 months.
I will forever miss Faustina, Noah, Orwell, Sheila, Ezekiel, and the others. Hopefully I will find the time to write their bonus stories~
BUT! I do know that I’ll be drawing them soon live on my discord (, so join now to get notification on WHEN I will draw~ for reference, you can look at the comment for my art style. Link: discord.gg/8U3nRGxuDu
From time to time, I will come back here to write about the story of Amber, Harten, and Theodore AND maybe, will write a sequel of them too. We’ll see~
Thank you so much for reaching this far, and for all the love and support!
I love you all.
Until next story!
Love,
Chainslock
