Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 30
Saint rolled over as lightning struck close by again. He sighed as he realized waking up in the middle of the night was a really fun and wonderful thing to do when you were a child, but not as a grown adult with a meeting in the morning.
But the tropical storm didn’t seem to care about his plans, or how light of a sleeper he was. He sat up and looked out the window.
“So I need to get curtains for this room.” I knew I was forgetting something.
“I guess I will tell Chimlin tomorrow.”
“Stop talking to yourself alone in the dark, it’s weird.”
“Yeah its definitely weird.” Saint sighed and stood up. He walked over to the door, pulled it open walked through the pitch-black closet and pulled open the door quietly so as not to disturb the people sleeping in the bed.
Saint stopped beside the bed and sighed a soft chuckle escaped his lips.
‘I knew you would.’
‘You evil little brat.’
‘I will make sure to punish you thoroughly tomorrow.’ Saint thought then turned around and walked back into the other room, he pushed aside the flap of green fabric from the large tent and grabbed the big fluffy blanket he liked to snuggle under when it was cold and rainy just like this.
He turned back, went back into the other room carrying the blanket in both arms tightly. The blanket was a warm ball of his own body heat, that smelled a little like fresh flowers and spices. Probably the scents Chimlin used for the washing. He walked up to the bed and very quietly covered up Heart who had been lying curled into a cute little ball, his naked legs tucked as close to the shirt as he could.
Saint took a step back and admired how Heart’s face relaxed as the warmth seeped into him and the scent started to tickle his nose. He took a deep breath, a giant exhale of content and Saint felt as if his heart had become full with just that one insignificant gesture.
He looked over at Kit and glared.
‘How are you still a blanket hog after all these years?’
‘Ten hasn’t been working hard enough to break your nasty habits. You need a good smack.’
‘Ten good smacks.’
‘A hundred extra days of work in the year, no you can’t do that, he already works almost three hundred and sixty-five days a year.’
‘Make him work nights too..’ The evil side of his brain pushed.
‘I can’t believe you stole Heart’s covers and left him with nothing!’
‘I feel poignant, No! Indignant, at your lack of responsibility.’
‘You should be ashamed of yourself, he is almost ten years younger than you.’
‘You are supposed to take care of the youngling’s in your care.’
Saint sneered feeling only half satisfied with his internal bitchy dialogue as he glared daggers at a sleeping and oblivious Kit.
“Hmmm, no.. What are you…” Saint looked over in alarm at Heart.
His heart beat loudly in his ears as he worried they caught him standing here watching them sleep in the dark.
‘How do I explain I am not weird?’
‘Just say you were, um, just bringing him a blanket?’
‘Or you can just tell him that you were killing Kit in your head repeatedly, for stealing the blanket in the first place.’ Saint realized he was still one hundred percent asleep and was just dreaming albeit rather loudly.
He stroked his chest telling it to behave.
Heart groaned and made a slight motion with his hands, his mouth settling into a large pout and his bottom lip became so big it looked like you could surf that wave all the way to Atlantis.
‘What the heck are you even dreaming about right now?’ Saint wondered, watching Heart fascinated.
‘So you talk and move in your sleep.’
‘That’s…’
‘Really, freaking cute.’ Saint covered his mouth as Heart whimpered and reached out and grasped at the blanket.
Saint observed his movements.
He didn’t seem scared or frantic, stressed, or showing any signs it was a nightmare.
If anything, it looked like it annoyed him.
Heart reached out for something as a stray curl fell on his face and Saint’s hand reached forward instinctively itching to fix it for him.
But the curl was so pretty and beautiful in that position that it felt like a crime to remove it from that spot.
The slightly overlong hair dipped down to the end of his nose and fell in a large, slightly twisted half-loop above his left eye which was crushed into the pillow. And his breath caused the end to wiggle gently back and forth.
‘Go to sleep you colossal idiot, you have a meeting tomorrow.’ Saint sighed wistfully.
‘Why are you so angelic? My heart can’t handle these moments anymore.’
‘Each moment spent with you reminds me how much I miss being normal.’
Heart wiggled his nose as the curl tickled him and Saint smiled brightly, letting his emotions completely free since no one was there to judge him.
‘Gahh, I wish I had my phone, I want to take a picture so bad.’
‘Your cheeks look so pudgy smashed into the pillows that way.’
‘No, Saint’
‘Behave!’ He reminded himself strictly.
‘You came in here to check on him and to give him a blanket since you knew that an evil thief would have stolen it.’
‘You didn’t come in here to waste five minutes of your life watching him while he sleeps like some obsessed creepo.’
Saint groaned and realized if he stood here any longer he was going to wake Heart up and ask him to return the favor from that one night in the bathroom.
Saint groaned as his pants tightened.
‘Oh control yourself.’ He thought looking down at it, but grabbed it and adjusted it so that it wouldn’t hurt so much.
‘Go to bed and stop torturing yourself. You know nothing is going to happen tonight.’
‘Good night, I hope that you are dreaming of me.’ He thought then turned around and walked back towards his safe haven.
Tonight he had used up all of its protection charms,
Because he needed them, for Heart.
