Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 32
‘Saint why do you keep coming to his school. Why do you keep going to see him… Ugh, but you have to, you have to stop it from happening again? You have to keep him safe, away from danger. ‘
‘Just ask him to stay. Just ask him to take a week off, a month, the rest of the time that is left, as long as Ngeun is around. Whatever you can do to stop them from meeting, anything at all, even if you have to fire him.’
‘No, you can’t, losing him is not an option.’
‘It would kill me.’
Saint walked up the steps and around the campus heading for the table he knew Heart would be sitting at.
The wind rustled the branches in the mangrove trees and the open pods fluttered weakly.
Saint’s fluffy sweater rustled softly, the long, creamy white individual hairs dancing gently. His ripped light wash jeans tight to his skin looked slightly out of place to the backdrop of the uniforms that some students sported. But there were a few people who wore casual clothing, so he felt slightly better about him not sticking out too much. There were a few girls and boys who glanced on with interest, whispering things behind their hands, but Saint ignored them, his eyes instead turned onto Heart who sat in his usual spot.
Saint smiled, walked up to the table and was about to say something when he noticed Heart was busy. Saint sat down very carefully.
Saint looked over at Heart who looked like he had been working all day on a project for his class. Since they splayed everything out in front of him like a crazy person at their own desk. It looked like whatever he was supposed to be doing he could not find the time to do it in between making the long trips between school, home, and here repeatedly with how busy Saint had made him.
Saints heart panged with frustration and anger, anger because he wished he could take away some of his work. Some of his hours, but Heart worked for what he earned. It was an unavoidable thing.
Saint observed him gently as he kept him company in silence.
Heart’s head was down like he was focused, but the way his head was being held up Saint could tell even though his face was not visible that Heart was asleep.
He stared with concern on his face. He had kept him up really late last night with a project and a bunch of errands for it and then with what he had done to him in the bathroom.
‘Between that and work, was Heart okay?’ His heart worried for him.
‘It was hard work… he supposed he had been overworking him lately. He could probably do with a break.’ He put his hand on his chin and rested his elbow on the table, then tilted his head, craning it a little to be able to see Heart’s soft pinky peach lips and long lashes.
He really was beautiful.
‘He is a hard worker. Sweet, genuine. He might have an attitude. And be a bit scared of him sometimes, but Heart is a really brilliant person. I don’t think I want to be just your boss anymore, just the guy who teases and plays with you. Maybe I want to be more?’
‘But could a sweetheart like Heart ever fall for him, after all he had done was play with him like a toy.’
‘He curses your name on his own time, you have done nothing, how can you fault him if he doesn’t like you or if he might even be a Heart’s scared of you.’ Saint sighed gently.
He hadn’t really done anything but play with him and be in his boss persona all the time.
Heart’s head wobbled. Saint snapped out of his musing and slid closer to Heart reaching across the table length. He gulped, but slowly reached out and put his hand out below Hearts face, catching him.
He sucked in his lips and held his breath the moment Heart’s chin fell into his hand.
Heart let a little snore out. But otherwise it was fine and he didn’t wake up.
Saint breathed out slowly. And sat there trying very hard not to laugh. His body stretched out, elongating as much as possible just to hold him up.
Heart looked so adorably cute, but so dumb at the same time.
Someone walked past the table and Saint quickly jerked his hand away so as not to get caught.
Heart’s head fell against the table hard and his forehead hit with an audible sound. Saint turned back, looked at him, eyes wide in surprise. Then quickly schooled his expression as Heart woke up.
“Ahhh… Son of a…” Heart started swearing then blinked twice and seemed to realize the person in front of him.
Saint got up, too nervous to know what to say. He had come here to tell Heart that he needed him to stop coming into work. To tell him it wasn’t safe.
But Heart… he looked at him.
Heart wiped the drool off his face and looked over.
“Saint?”
Saint walked away, taking large steps away from the table. He rubbed his hand on his pants, but Heart didn’t see anything because he was collecting his stuff quickly.
“Saint wait!” Heart called out.
Saint ignored him. Heart chased after him still shoving stuff into his bag and trying to zip it up.
Saint watched him struggle out of the corner of his eye and slowed his steps to match Heart’s pace not actually trying to distance himself. Heart didn’t notice, but finally was able to close the bag due to not having to rush so much.
Heart threw the bag onto his back and looked up to stare at Saint.
Saint felt this rush of feelings, like his nervousness was almost a returned reciprocation of Heart’s own palpitations.
‘How can I long for you even when you are five steps away, Heart what are you doing to me?’
He had wanted to talk to him last night, and was going to wait till after work, but when he had gotten into his car, he had ended up here. Like he was meant to be. But now that he had him there he wasn’t sure how to speak the words he had come to say, to Heart.
“Saint?”
“Heart?” They said at the same time.
Heart chuckled and Saint smirked lightly. Heart didn’t catch it.
“You can go first,” Heart said softly.
Saint paused slightly worried by the way he had said his name. He wanted to know what he wanted now. It felt weird. He had said his name so softly. That never happened. It made him nervous.
But he blurted out the words he had come to say.
“Don’t come into work.”
“What?” Heart stopped.
“You are firing me? At school!?” Heart asked incredulously.
Saint turned to look at him.
He stuck both his hands in his pocket and leaned back.
He walked back towards Heart doing his best to be impartial, to remove his emotions, to not give anything away.
But he could tell his emotions were escaping him and his worry and anxiety seeped out of him.
He looked at him intensely.
Heart gulped, as if uncomfortable.
“You really want to keep working for me?” Saint asked, even after last night.. No, especially after last night.”
