Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 40
Heart walked to the edge of the sidewalk and looked down the next street at the signs looking for the place Saint had mentioned. Saint had wanted to come and grab him, but he had assured him everything was alright, that he was fine on his own.
He probably shouldn’t have, but he didn’t want Saint to have to go an hour out of his way just to come and get him from school after his morning classes finished.
‘Not when today was what it was.’
‘Not when. Ngeun was coming.’
‘Just the thought of that one word,’
‘That name,’
It made Heart’s blood boil, his stomach flip, and his veins bulge with anger.
‘How could one human being, one man create so much damage, to his own family?’
‘Not strangers, this wasn’t some psychopath abducting random people, but, the one human being who was supposed to provide you unconditional all supporting love and protection too.’
It made him want to seethe knowing that he would finally face the man who was responsible for hurting someone he loved and cared about.
No, multiple people he cared about.
Heart had met Ten a few times before this and getting to know Kit had been just as much pleasure as getting to know Saint.
If not more. For sure more than at first.
Heart remembered being downright terrified of Saint originally, feeling like he was doomed to fall into this man’s insufferable daunting gaze, and become putty in his hands.
Heart walked down the street carefully checking out each building for what he was looking for.
It was supposed to have some eye-catching symbol above the door. Something blazingly obvious in night and day.
He finally spotted it, a yellow tiger attacking a white dragon that was protecting a silver doe all seeming to dance and call attention to themselves, winking in the daylight.
‘Well, that’s an impressive logo. I guess they weren’t lying when they said it caught your eye.’ He thought.
Heart hit the button on the crosswalk and waited for the orange hand to turn to a white person.
‘The three kingdoms huh.. It sounds like a greasy Chinese food restaurant, not some new hip restaurant and lounge.’
‘But apparently, it was and it was not only amazing on the inside but on the outside too. So he supposed he really couldn’t judge since they did it up in three separate areas and themes white, silver and gold.’
The very blatant paint to the outside should have looked almost gaudy. Yet it didn’t, it had clearly been done this way to represent rhodium, platinum, and gold the three rarest and most sought after metals.
The most desired metals to signify that this was the most desirable place in town.
Heart paused as he realized just four months ago, he never would have been able to tell what architecture was trying to accomplish, or the purpose and design something was built for. Before this.
He was proud of himself for noticing.
He stopped outside the exterior.
It was done in an amazing stone exterior archways with enormous windows that looked into the beautiful bar. In-between each window was a pillar. The pillars alternated between gold, white, and silver. A single arched doorway with an amazingly ornate door with scroll work etched into the glass along with the logo. No writing anywhere on the outside just the logo. Each handle held an inlaid tiger biting into a deer’s tail.
‘Wow, it was breathtaking.’
‘Intimidating, and one hundred percent a flaunt of power and wealth.’
Heart was angry for being impressed when he knew he was supposed to be angry.
Ngeun had definitely picked this as a place to intimidate and belittle someone.
‘Doesn’t matter, because I refuse to feel that way. I am here to support Saint.’ Heart reminded.
‘Well, let’s see if the inside is just as amazing, and if coming back here at any time to just gawk would be a wonderful idea since this time, well since. That man and his disgusting presence will ruin my first experience.’
Heart yanked on the door handle, then walked into the three kingdoms and his mouth dropped as his eyes were hit with a sight he hadn’t been able to comprehend because even now staring at it didn’t feel real.
He walked into a breath of fresh air that smelled faintly of flowers. Was a person waited behind a fancy stand that looked like some sort of alter-esque art piece. On either side of her and straight behind her were three ornately carved arches if they could be called that, as the more, he looked around the more he felt as if he had walked into a painting.
“Hello, sir, white, silver, or gold for today’s experience?” Her sweet voice chimed through the air and she smiled at Heart politely.
Heart stared at her beautiful ensemble and kinda wished he had one too. She looked magical.
She was dressed in a traditional hanfu from the Han dynasty. The tight V collar around the neck with the long sleeves and tight cinch around the waist. The bottom a flowing gown that brushed the floor, but not long enough to puddle and trip on. The entire thing looked as if they had dipped it in gold. She was stunning.
Heart had to give it up for the sheer amount of effort Ngeun was going through to terrify Saint. It both impressed him and terrified him.
He reminded himself while he could Wow at the experience; he had to be strong for Saint.
Heart cleared his throat and tried not to stare like an idiot. A small cascading rock waterfall off in the center caught his eye, and he wondered how it was making barely any noise that he hadn’t noticed it was there until now.
Heart’s mind wandered as it gave him an out of the body and pushed back to ancient China and the extravagance of the old palaces experience. Everything looked as if it had jumped off the pages of an old storybook.
“Your hanfu it’s beautiful. You’re beautiful!” Heart whispered.
“Thank you,” Her face lit up brightly at the compliment and her attitude changed immediately. No longer looking bored and put off.
“I think since you so like my outfit I can take you to the Huángjīn qīit side.”
“How many?” She said sweetly.
Heart struggled to respond because he actually wasn’t sure how many people there would be, or which side of the restaurant they were on. ‘Were they even here already?’
She started to lead Heart forward, and Heart held out his hand to protest.
“Ah, I–”
A hand reached out and stopped him before he could follow the girl.
He felt as he was spun around and ended up staring straight up into Saint’s beautiful features.
