Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 63
Saint watched Heart working at his desk through the glass walls of his office, blatantly staring at his man. He smirked as a medium brown piece of hair flopped into Heart’s eyes, and he spun the pencil in his hand nervously. If anyone was to walk into his office right now, he knew that they would see stars in his eyes and the head over heels smitten look on his face. But frankly, he didn’t give a single damn about any of it anymore. He had defeated his dad for breaking the contract. There was nothing that man could do now. So it didn’t matter if there were two years or half a day left, no one could stop him from liking Heart anymore.
That night was stuck in his head and the day after. Everything about it was perfect. He could hardly believe the truth.
‘Two weeks ago, they had decided they should go steady.’ He wanted to walk around and point it out to everyone, to let the whole world know that he wasn’t such an overbearing bear. He had someone who liked him now… But that was unbecoming of him.
More than showing off and bragging about what he wanted to do.
What he really, really wanted to do was go over there, cup Heart’s face in his hands.
Then he wanted to tell him he was so beautiful that he stole his breath away. That he drove him mental, thinking of him every moment they were away from each other and above everything he wanted to kiss those sweet lips again.
Just the daydream of doing it made him feel excited. He closed his eyes and leaned back with a groan. ‘How was he going to ever survive the last two months of Hearts internship like this?’
‘It would take all his willpower, and he might just go insane.’ He stared at his calendar. ‘He just had to make it to Jan 22nd. That’s it.’
He looked outside at the light fog in the air. The morning was cold, but the night had that late November chill. It has been especially bad lately, the light nip on your nose. Ten degrees was enough to make anyone shiver.
It was only two days away from the first of December. And he knew he was supposed to fly to Korea for a week to settle up the legal papers with Sungwoo, though he was starting to think Sungwoo was capable enough to do it all. Without him, he wanted to call in sick, stay in and cuddle with Heart.
Saint hit the number one button on the phone’s intercom system and watched as Kit picked up the phone on the other side.
“Cancel a meeting in Korea that you promised to do would be bad, right?”
Kit swung his rotating seat around to face Saint and stared at him through the window.
“And why do you need to cancel the trip?” Kit asked, slowly pushing up his glasses and glaring, unimpressed.
“Considering you promised you would visit Sungwoo after you left five years ago and never have? Then you called him to fly all the way over here and he did so by the next day.”
“And now that you finally agreed to go see him and sign the paper in person, you want to cancel now?
“Ahhh, right? I am being selfish.”
“Yes, quite.” Kit agreed.
“So, keep the trip?” Saint asked, a slight whine crept into his voice.
Kit smirked, clearly highly amused.
“Yes. No, do as you please, but remember if you stay, then I will make sure to keep Heart busy the entire time your trip would have lasted…”
“The Entire Time!”
“Fine, I will make sure you still don’t get to spend a single second with him, just as if you were gone.”
“What! That’s unfair.”
“So is ditching Sungwoo.”
“Let’s not pretend that this is about letting Sungwoo down and more about you already booking your tickets to Korea.”
“True. Also, Sungwoo is nice and you shouldn’t let him down and postpone the trip unless you have a valid reason. Wanting to eat your boyfriend is not a valid reason.”
Saint laughed. “I suppose you are right. I got really carried away, I guess it just felt nice to be able to have someone to love and cherish again.”
“Gross.”
“Go on your damn trip, you can publicly announce your love to the world when you get back or whatever the heck else you want to do.” Kit went to hang up the phone, but then halfway to the receiver, seemed to have a thought, and lifted the phone back up.
“Also, I resent that statement, I love and cherish you.”
Saint chuckled.
“Yes, but I clearly meant by someone who isn’t a low down rotten blanket stealing thief.”
“That’s it, I am telling Heart he can have the next three weeks off for Christmas break, that way you don’t get to stare at him anymore.”
“No, wait! You blackmailing scum of my own blood. Don’t you dare, or I am going to drown you in enough paperwork that KitTen will have to take a temporary hiatus until the new year.”
Kit chuckled.
“Go ahead, try. My money is on Ten. He will beat your ass down.”
“True my money is on him too.”
Kit scoffed.
“Just bring Heart with you. I am sure he would love to take four days off from school so he can prep for his exams more. He already told me he only has like one class left that isn’t doing exam revision. ”
“Should I leave you behind and bring Heart then?” Saint asked.
Kit glowered. “Don’t you dare. I will kill you in your sleep tonight if you take away my final vacation time with Ten. This is his final bit of freedom before he works himself into a tailspin of a brutal overbooked schedule.”
“Oh, fine…”
“What reason do I give to write off the expenses of having two secretaries come with me on a trip like this?” Saint asked.
“If grandfather asks, you can tell him you wrote it off so that he wouldn’t have to watch his grandson’s murder trial.”
“Wow, ouch, clearly, I am more dispensable to you than you are to me.”
Kit laughed.
“Oh, don’t even pretend you have me inside that steel heart of yours., Saint, we all know you hold a Heart inside your heart.”
Saint glared at Kit and clicked the button on the remote that brought the blinds down.
“Oh, that’s childish, two can play at that game. I am not packing your bag for you this time.”
“That’s okay, I am sure Heart would be happy to help me. He sorta has been living off and on at my place since that day, anyway.”
“Wow, I see how it is.”
Kit lowered his head so that the blinds couldn’t cover it up.
“I am drinking your coffee.” He said childishly, then took a big long swig.
“Idiot. That’s your coffee, I don’t buy coffee, it’s not mine.” Saint said then hung up the phone just as he did he heard Kit swear.
“You coffee stealing Bastard!” Saint leaned back in the chair and chuckled to himself, then watched as the blind got too low for Kit to bend anymore.
‘He knew he teased Kit a bunch, well every single day, but really, he had no one else to tease all those years. Besides, he knew Kit, knew that Saint found him indispensable.’
‘Besides, stealing his coffee was always so much fun. It had been like their daily routine of things. For a while, before Heart had walked into his life, he had felt so hopeless, and really the small things he did to tease Kit and to play with him had made his life more manageable. At first, having Heart had felt weird, adding someone to that group of people it was safe to trust and care about… And now that Ngeun was gone, it all felt so surreal.’
‘He could just live each day and enjoy it.’
‘Oh shit, I forgot to ask Kit to grab all the stuff needed for Heart to come along.’
He sighed, bantering with Kit always made him forget what the heck he was needing to do. He dialed the intercom again, Kit answered the call immediately.
“If I am going to bring Heart with us to Korea. I just realized he is going to need some stuff.”
“Ah, yes, so that you don’t just drag him around with a t-shirt and a pair of jeans on. How nice of you to finally notice.”
Saint glared at Kit through the curtains.
“Stop glaring at me, I can’t even see it.”
“But you knew I was doing it,” Saint said smugly.
There was a pause on the other end.
“Is there a reason you phoned to tell me that you finally realized your boyfriend might actually need to wear clothes? Like most people might have ages ago when they took their significant other to travel with them in another city or country?”
“You are lucky you are my cousin.”
Kit chuckled.
“Of course, I thank god for every morning I wake up, and you haven’t smashed my head in with a pillow..” Kit stated deadpan.
