Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 65
So in an effort to be less stressed and less depressed about having to update daily on two stories for two different contests to try and earn money. cause my broke self is… Broke.
I am cutting out my normal three step editing before I send to someone and then post. I am just straight up throwing the chapters up. So there will be a loss in grammar and editing. But fear not, when August is over or as soon as I get a dang second to breathe and see… Um sunlight for a moment I will edit it all up to be nice and pretty.
Don’t worry about the sunlight thing and the promised escape of freedom. I won’t be gone for long when I do finally finish up at the end of August. I promise I won’t go out for long. I am allergic to outdoors and life outside my house in general cause … bugs.
So I will be back writing before you know it. XD
Oh, also important to note. I am changing when this updates to better fit readers schedules and my own. I noticed you guys tend to read the most at 10-11am server time and 18:00 and 22:00 server time. So in hopes that more people who read this will be able to read at a better time. I will be uploading it at 10am server time and 18:00 server time to start. If 18:00 doesn’t work then I will update the second release to be at 22:00. Thanks again guys.

“Hey, Min?!” Heart yelled as he opened the door of their small apartment for the first time in almost two weeks.
“Min?!” he called wondering if she would be home. He looked at the clock, and it said four fifty-six pm.
“I’m in here, Heart. I just finished showering, give me a second to figure out what to wear.” Min called from in her bedroom.
“Just back for a moment, then I gotta go again. Sorry work has kept me so busy, but I have to go help the boys. Ring says he is spazzing out right now and needs a friend.” Heart yelled as he entered the apartment and went straight to his room.
Min walked out of her bedroom dark brown sportswear pants on. Bare feet and a super huge black sweater that read I am a bunny. With a white and pink paint bunny on it.
She walked over to the couch and plopped herself on it hard taking the beige towel that was around her neck and began rubbing at her mousy brown hair that was only a few shades darker than Heart’s original color.
“You dyed your hair, blonde,” Min noted.
Heart smirked.
“Nope, I made the mistake of agreeing to spend the whole day with High and Tone and everyone else for How Much Love’s debut day, and they decided that if all of them were dying their hair fresh colors I needed one too.”
“I literally had no say in this change. Ring grabbed me and plunked me down in the chair and said I was getting it done.”
“Why didn’t you just say no thanks?”
Heart scoffed. “Have you ever seen Ring when he is being demanding?”
Min shook her head no.
“He is normally really sweet every time I see him.”
Heart chuckled. “That little… Welp, take it from me. You can’t say no. There is just no way.”
“What about, One? He’s a mature adult with all you small children out there.”
Heart glared at Min “Small children… really?” He stated unimpressed.
“Well, he is older than all of you… oh, who am I kidding? We both know you are more mature than him.” Min groaned as she moved to lift her feet up onto the couch to massage the bottoms of them.
Heart watched her, his brow furrowing with worry. He turned and walked into his room, and continued talking with the door open. He bent down and began picking stuff up off the floor, and opened up the drawer to his dresser looking for something.
“I know I haven’t been home very much lately, but I didn’t think that much had changed. Why are you so sore? You didn’t take extra shifts at work did you?”
“You should tell Lawyer Sirito that you need less work. He’s always getting you to handle all the paralegal filing work and delivering of documents. I’m sure he could get anyone else to take contracts over to their offices.”
Min sighed.
“I know. I know, but for now, there is not much I can do about it. I’m almost at my goal I set for my savings, Tee said that he has almost gotten enough saved up from the restaurant that we could…”
“Heart?”
Heart looked at Demon Lord and smiled.
‘Should I tell her that I really like Saint, that I love him. I feel like we haven’t gotten a chance to sit down and talk with her, in so long. Even now it’s my day off and I could be spending it with her but my friend needs me… But Min also looks like she needs me.’
“Heart!”
Heart snapped out of it and realized he had unwittingly stopped listening to Min. Ignoring his sister who was sitting on the couch in the small living room.
“Ah I’m sorry, I got lost in my thoughts about how bad a brother I’ve been to you.” He said walking out of his room and plopping all of the clothes he had picked up into the little white hamper he kept near the door.
Min snickered.
“That is so like you. To be reflecting on how bad a brother you are as you act like a bad little brother.” She reached out for the bowl of fruit on the table grabbing an apple.
Heart chuckled.
“Think fast.” She said hucking it at him.
“Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa” Heart, yelped in surprise.
“You can’t just throw an apple at my face! There are lots of people who like my face you know… Including me.”
Min chuckled.
“Oh, I know, you have turned very, very popular all of a sudden. I mean you went through your entire four years of high school with only three friends, and the first year of Uni you got one more and now bam the second year and you just grew a collection of boys didn’t you.”
Heart walked back into his room and straightened out the covers on his bed carefully so as not to disturb the spot Num liked to sit. He looked around the room for her.
Heart poked his head out of his room to stare at his sister.
“Where is Num? She wasn’t here a few days ago when I popped in here to get a change of clothes.”
“She was in your room when I got back about a half-hour ago.”
“Num?” Heart called poking his head back into the room and walking around.
“You know, Heart? I really want to tell you something… It’s important.”
“Ah, Okay,” Heart called back.”Just a second.”
He dropped down to the floor and looked under the big clunky chestnut brown dresser. “There you are Num!” Heart exclaimed with relief.
He reached in to pull her out and she let out a little low mewl of disapproval and a small hiss.
“Num? What’s wrong?”
He pet her down her back cuddling her into a small ball on his lap.
She growled hard.
“Num…You aren’t acting entirely like yourself.”
“Min!” He called. A few seconds later Min popped her head around the door.
“Oh, you found Num.”
Heart looked up at Min and nodded slowly, his eyebrows creased with concern.
“Yes, but there is something wrong, she isn’t acting normal.”
Min looked at him.
“What?”
“Mmmhmm, she isn’t acting normal.”
“She is growling every time I touch her and is panting funny. She doesn’t seem like she wants to be on my lap either.”
“Min, Min what do we do?”
“Can we take her to the vet?”
“Right now?”
Heart nodded, looking stressed.
“I thought you had something to go do, Heart?”
“This is more important.” Heart responded.
“I… Okay, we can take her. I’ll call Tee, he was on his way over here anyway.”
Min pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed Tee’s number. She bit her nail the way she always did when she was worried about something.
Heart knew what she was thinking. Num was a big part of their life. They both adored her.
She hadn’t started out that way. Actually, Min had disliked Num at first. One hundred percent sure the cat was going to destroy the little peace they had left in their life. Or worse, just hop into their house, drop off a litter and walk away never to be seen again.
But the longer Num had spent with Heart inside the house, the more Num had grown on her because of the love she saw Heart had towards the sweet older cat. Until Min was leaving the window open every day for the little cat, that had slowly grown into a big happy cat. And eventually they had both even gone out and gotten actual cat supplies. A cat bed, some real cat food, not just the scraps of their own food, a few toys, and lastly but the most important, a collar. A cute little yellow collar that matched her eyes with pretty pink sparkles all over it, and a tiny little Heart shaped pendant with her name in the center of the blue and silver tag.
Her name, the one Heart had given her.
A cat who had no family, no place in the world… No place to call her own.Had found love and a family, while retaining her freedom.
Heart held Num tightly. ‘She couldn’t be sick, Num wasn’t allowed to be sick. In his lifetime he had given her all the love he had, outside of Min he hadn’t loved anyone longer than he had loved Num. because Num was his first friend, before her, he had never had anyone in his life. And until lower secondary when he had met High and Tone he had no one at all. Ring came around in University and was the only one he had ever bonded with outside of the immediate circle of people he had around him since lower secondary. A circle he had been comfortable staying in. Now his life had expanded and opened up to let so many wonderful new people in. But he wasn’t ready to let go of his first friend.
His first furry darling.
He looked down at Num’s pretty yellow eyes. She looked tired and her fur had lost its pretty sheen.. Staring at her now reminded him of the sad and slightly depleted cat, he had met in the alley that night so many years ago.
