Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 77
Min cleared her throat and gave Tee a look that said not to pick on Heart no matter how cute he acted.
Sometimes she regretted having someone who was half like a child himself as her once and future husband.
But she truly loved Tee and everything about him.
He had been her elementary school crush and her lower secondary first love. He had been her everything and always would be. Her friend Melon was always saying that how could she know she truly loved Tee if she didn’t eliminate the other possibilities in her world. That someday she would regret never trying to see if there was someone outside her little pond.
But Min disagreed. Her world needed Tee in it. They had broken up once in Upper Secondary, and it had been the worst experience of her life. She had been so heartbroken then. And when her mom had passed, he had been there for her like no one else in the world ever could.
Min stared at Tee fondly, watching him peacefully cooking away in the kitchen. Doing the thing he loved the most, for the people he loved the most.
He noticed her staring and gave her a modest little wink.
Min smirked and held back a knowing giggle.
She could handle this for the rest of her life. This content little circle of Tee and Heart surrounding her with love and support. The idea of two children toddling around the house both filled her with love and excitement… And a little bit of apprehensive terror.
But then again who didn’t need a good healthy dose of apprehensive terror in their lives. To keep them awake and alert for life.
Min giggled and both boys looked at her.
“What’s so funny?”
“Oh nothing, I just realized how happy I am. How amazing my life is right now. I really couldn’t ask for better.”
Heart smiled.
“I have been feeling that way lately too. Really happy.”
Tee nodded. “We have been able to tell. You have been really showing your brightness lately.”
“Well, I have been feeling amazing… I was.. Until… Until” Heart blinked back the tears that threatened to spill and he gulped carefully, clearing his throat and switching the way he was sitting tucking one leg under the other.
“So what did you guys end up deciding?” Heart asked, pushing off the large grey cushion behind him and leaning into the couch back so that he was facing Min now.
Min turned back to look at Heart and ran her fingers through her hair.
“Oh, we didn’t decide. Tee’s mum, you remember her, decided to purchase a flat for us as a wedding present.”
“And we decided to accept, for the sake of the babies.”
“The flat is nearer to their home so that they can help as much as needed. It’s actually in a really great area. It has three bedrooms. We were thinking one for us, one for the baby, and one for you?” Min trailed off slowly.
“Are you nuts, how can I just move in with my newlywed sister when you will be wanting some alone time with Tee.” Heart responded quickly shutting down that idea. Min deflated a little.
“Don’t get me wrong I will still visit all the time but I don’t want to have to mooch off you guys while you are trying to raise two babies at once. I want to promise that I would help all the time, but right now I have so many finals and I can’t really stop them. ”
“Yes, I know Heart. I know how hard we worked to even get you into college. I would never ever ask you to skip out and abandon your scholarships. I could never do something so selfish.” Tee chimed in.
Heart sighed.
“What will you do then?” Min asked gently.
“I dunno I will figure out something. I will figure out what to do when the time comes.”
“Have you guys decided when you will start moving over?”
Min grimaced.
“We have already started to move stuff over. Just little things for now. There are some things already over there that his mom provided since we needed it and didn’t have it for the baby.”
Heart smiled. “That’s great I am so happy for you guys. If you need any help moving stuff just ask me and I will help okay?”
Min nodded, letting out a sigh of relief she had been holding in for ages. She had been stewing on this news for a month now wondering how to bring it up. How to ask him to come with her, but also scared he would say yes.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want him to say yes, heck she would steal him away from the world and just keep on trying to protect him forever if she could. He was her baby brother after all. And they had been through everything together. But.
She was moving on, going to be a new mother, with new mother issues and Heart was young and still sorting out his life. He didn’t need to sit there and be held back trying to help her life function properly. He wasn’t supposed to be acting like their mother and doing all the things their mother and father would have done if they had been alive, taking care of everything he already was was legit more than enough. Especially, when he hadn’t figured out how to get his own life off the ground yet.
She couldn’t hold him back with his constant worry for how she was doing. How to help her stop struggling in life. Those never should have been his concerns in the first place.
But they had been. And she didn’t want that to be the case now.
“When do you think you will be fully settled in the other place by?” Heart asked.
“After the wedding in December.”
“The weddings in December!” Heart exclaimed in shock.
“But that’s so soon!”
Min smirked, tucked her feet up onto the couch, and rested her head on her knees. Reveling for the moment that she could still do this, and realizing that soon her belly would prevent her from doing much of anything comfortably.
‘Can you blame it, you are going to essentially be a living walking breathing bus for your children for a while. Shipping them around the city for a while before reaching their final destination.’
“They didn’t want me showing too much so they decided to get it over and done with as fast as possible to stop rumors. They said they will use the excuse that we were going to elope. Since Tee had waited so long for me to say yes that he had finally reached his threshold.”
Heart snickered.
“I mean after fifteen proposals I can see why his family would all believe he was ready to drag you down to the office immediately to get married after you said yes. Heck even with me knowing you are pregnant that seems like a more plausible reason for the wedding than anything else.”
Tee growled playfully. “Shush, don’t remind me how many times she rejected me. It wounds my pride every time.”
Min pursed her lips in disgust.
“Don’t even play like that. We all know exactly why I rejected you fifteen times.” Min snapped waspishly.
“I didn’t make enough money.”
“Your abs were not A-grade standard.” They both said at the same time.
Min sighed.
“Yah both are a bunch of trolls. I don’t know why I even bother.” Heart high-fived Tee and Tee chuckled before popping a fresh cherry tomato into his mouth. His eyes twinkled with humor.
“Because you love us.” Heart stated playfully.
“So how long do we have left on the lease here?” Heart asked, changing the tone in the room.
“We have until January first then the lease is up.”
Heart paused.
“January first, hmmm.”
“Yes January first,” Min repeated, watching Heart curiously as he had suddenly become preoccupied with something.
“Why? Is there something about that time?” Min asked.
Heart nodded, shaking his head no.
“It seems the whole world is changing on January First.” Heart stated his eyes lost, far off somewhere else.
“The whole world is changing? What? what does that mean, Heart? What else is changing then?”
Heart smirked.
“It seems I underestimated how important this new year was going to be, and just what kind of changes it would be bringing with it.” Heart commented cryptically.
Heart pulled out his phone and walked off to his bedroom. Pausing when he reached the door, he looked up from the phone at Tee. Tee stopped stirring the fluffy eggs for the omelet to look at him.
“Call me when you are done making breakfast… I would offer to help you. But I know better than to ask to come into your kitchen while you are being Chef Tee trying to impress his lovely wife Min.”
Tee growled playfully. “Don’t even think of entering my kitchen or I am going to turn into Smaug..” Tee said.
