Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 83
“So where are we going…”
“Oh, we really are going to Ten’s house. They’re going to watch Mouse for a little bit before they leave for the airport.”
“Leave? Kit and Ten are leaving and going on a trip… Where are they going? How did I not know about this?”
“Heart what do you mean they’re leaving?” Saint asked, smirking. Then his face fell a bit when he realized Heart wasn’t kidding around.
“Ah, I know you have been through a lot and have been very busy lately, but I… Well, I mean, you got such big news about Min’s pregnancy, but I really didn’t think you would have actually forgotten.”
“We are all heading out on a trip to Korea, remember four days three nights?” Saint said.
“Wait, what?”
Saint sighed, “I had hoped you hadn’t but kinda had a feeling you had forgotten, I postponed the trip by a few days already, but I really can’t push it back any longer.”
“Do you really not remember saying you would come to Korea with Ten, Kit, and I? It was back in my office.”
Heart paused for a moment before his eyes lit up with recognition. “Oh yeah, that’s right. Sorry I forgot, it seems like that happened ages ago and I had so many things occur since then I really wasn’t trying to be so featherbrained about it.” Heart reached out his hand, put it on Saint’s thigh, and squeezed it lightly. Saint grinned.
Heart pulled his hand back then turned to look out his window. Saint’s face fell.
“Put it back,” Saint said.
“Hmm, what?” Heart asked, turning back to face him.
“Put your hand back,” Saint commanded politely.
Heart’s eyes widened and he turned back to look at Mouse who was innocently kicking her legs out to try and reach the back of Saint’s seat with the bottom of her shoes.
“She’s seven, she’s off in her own land, she doesn’t even know we are talking. Put your hand back.” Saint said.
“I am so listening, just mommy says whenever you see adults having adult conversations that are not very fun but kinda boring, to make up your own song in your head as you go. That way you won’t have to listen to them when they are not being any fun.”
Heart sucked back a chuckle, trying his best to hold it in, and turned back facing the front of the car.
“I think that answered that.”
Saint laughed.
“I like Uncle Saint’s laugh, he laughs a lot more now that Uncle Heart is here.”
“Shhh, Mouse, aren’t you supposed to be quiet as a mouse just like your namesake?” Saint hinted.
Mouse shook her head no making her pretty side-swept bangs fall into her eyes. “No, mamma said that was wishful thinking. She named me Mouse so I would be quiet but it didn’t work out as she expected. She said instead of being quiet I just became shy.”
“She said she is lucky that was the name she chose since she can’t even imagine how loud I would be if she didn’t name me Mouse.”
Heart laughed. “Oh is that so? I think Mouse is the best and the only name you could be. It matches you perfectly.”
Mouse flopped her feet down letting them thunk into her seat, her grin was so big it caused the smile to eat up her eyes and made them turn into bright little twinkling moons.
“You really think so?”
Heart nodded vigorously.
“I know so.”
Mouse blushed happily.
“I think your names match you guys too. Mamma says names are powerful and what you name someone is what you hope for their life.”
“I think both your mamas must have been very nice.”
Heart’s eyes sparkled with unshed tears and he nodded.
“Super nice, but they had to go back up to the stars. The sky needed them to stay bright for us down here and they really wanted to keep the sky bright and lit up. So they went up there so that they could still help even from above.”
Mouse nodded slowly.
“Wooow,” She said very slowly.
“I didn’t know that’s why stars were so bright.”
Heart turned back and faced the front but could feel Saint staring at him from the driver’s side. They sat at a red traffic light and Heart cleared his throat unsure what else to do.
“Are you really going to just sit there and stare at me? Do you really think I can’t tell? The light turned, you should go before they all honk.”
“Not unless you put your hand on my thigh again.”
“Seriously?” Heart asked, turning to look at Saint but he was thoroughly amused with the situation.
Saint nodded.
“I like it.”
“It feels like you are claiming what’s yours.”
“Maybe I am.” Heart stated then quickly turned away as he felt a heat rush to his cheeks. After a minute, he inched his hand forward and placed it back on Saint’s thigh. Acting like there was nothing to it while he still refused to look back at Saint, knowing full well just what kind of facial expression he would be sporting if he did turn to look.
When they pulled up to the house, there was an awkward silence in the car and as soon as Saint pulled the car to a complete stop and then turned the engine off, Mouse was already unbuckled and out of her seat and pulling at the locked door.
The door was pulled open and Ten popped his head in with a giant smile on his face.
“Hey someone is excited to be here!” He picked Mouse up and then turned to look at the two of them in the front. “Ooo, seems like some sort of funny business was going on here.”
“I for sure one hundred percent approve of all of it. Do I need to grab Mouse and get out of your hair? We are going on a long six-hour flight… might as well get well Ummm… Adjusted before then.” He said with a knowing twinkle in his eye.
Heart blushed but unbuckled his seat belt and pulled open his door and started to stand up to get out when he felt a hand fall on his thigh, Heart turned to look back at Saint. His eyes round as saucers.
“What… what can I do?” Saint’s warm voice filled the interior of the car out.
“Hmm? What do you mean?” Heart asked falling back into his seat and closing the door.
“I know you have been going through so much. I wanted to give you space to work through it. I wanted to tell you I could help, that everything could be alright, but you already had other people holding your hand and telling you those things so I became virtually useless.”
Heart paused. He had been intentionally leaving Saint alone hoping that he wouldn’t burden him with his problems or his thoughts and feelings about everything that had gone on prior. Yet Saint had been worrying about him all along.
Herat sighed “I didn’t want to bug you but it seems you were thinking about it all along.”
“Of course, I was thinking about it all along. I care about you. I want to help you when things have gone wrong. I know we had barely cemented our relationship with each other before things kinda went a bit sideways. Before life threw us all for a loop. But I want you to know, that it wasn’t just sex. That I didn’t just step into your world and desire your body. I asked you to be a part of my life and I meant it because I wanted to be a part of yours too.”
Heart smiled.
“Really, what about back on the beach when you said it was only my body? That you didn’t want anything more, that I was just a tool?”
Saint smiled. “I was scared, I was sure if you got close you would die. The threat is over though Ngeun is gone there isn’t anything he can do now.”
“I want you. I really do Heart. I would like to start a relationship with you for real, if you’ll have me. I like you and I don’t want to let that go.
Heart smiled. “I know, I knew it all along. I was just waiting for you to stop denying your feelings.”
Saint smirked. “So you just knew my feelings all along and were never feeling insecure for even a minute?” He teased. “Because I seem to remember this time…”
“Nope never, I knew it all along.” Heart said cutting him off before he could finish the statement. He opened the door and got out then walked up and into the building knowing that Saint would follow behind him.
Ten stood inside the lobby holding Mouse still and rocking back and forth.
“Good talk?” He asked, with a wink.
“Eww don’t wink. It was really a good talk, for real Ten.”
Ten laughed and Heart rolled his eyes.
‘Honestly the amount of teasing I get, how do I rewind time to before when I had fewer people to bug me daily.’ Heart thought but still couldn’t hide the smirk that twitched at the corner of his mouth.
“Good I am glad you guys got that stuff sorted and out of the way I would hate if you guys continued being washing machines.” Ten said.
The elevator dinged and Ten got on then held the door open Heart stepped in behind him and they both waited. Saint popped in a moment later.
“Really, you left me out there? I thought you were going to come back. The audacity. Where did you get all this backbone from? I distinctly remember signing a contract for you to be my slave.” He said cheekily.
“That is at work, we are not at work, we are at Ten’s house. Those rules don’t apply..” Heart quipped back just as cheekily.
