Sweet CEO’s First Love - Chapter 90
“So do you guys want to come in? We have tea, and we are playing ball… I can make something to eat if you guys would like.”
“You can just enjoy our nice chill, peaceful afternoon with us.”
Nine chuckled “If there is one thing I know, it’s that your afternoon is going to be exhausting with Mouse here. She is going to tire you guys out so much you will sleep all the way to Korea.”
“Do you want to go and socialize?” Nine asked, turning to Sun.
Sun gave him a little pat on the back, and they exchanged a look.
Nine sighed.
“This dang human being, first physiotherapy, and hot stones and now he wants me to spend an hour stretching before starting to do hard dances.” Nine scrunched his nose up in disgust.
“We will get you ready to dance for debut without any problems and pain. We just have to focus on making your body be the best it can be.” Sun stated.
Nine turned a vicious and sarcastic smile on him. “My body is already amazing, super limber. Want to see?”
Ten sucked in a breath to hold back his laughter.
Ever since he had encouraged Nine to not give up on Sun, the boy had been relentless with his hints, and attentions’. He almost felt bad for Sun, except that he could tell that while he harrumphed and got annoyed, or just flat out walked away. He was actually quite happy underneath it all.
‘Hmm, I wonder what is stopping him from just giving in?’
Ten thought watching the two of them.
‘It doesn’t matter, if Nine is so resolute now in his desires I don’t think it’s possible for Sun to escape, especially since he doesn’t actually want to escape Nine’s affections. It seems there may be another coupling in H.M>L soon, poor fans, they don’t even have a chance to win a single persons’ heart. Not even Ring is up for grabs anymore. The lonely single man who would never let anyone in had been utterly swept up and enraptured.’
‘Watching Ring and Tone over the last two months had been almost murderous at times and then at other times, he had never seen Ring become so soft for anyone.’
‘The kid swore up and down that there was nothing but an obligation to fix what he had destroyed. But the reality was far different.’
‘No words had been said, and no denials had to be spoken. It was this heavy ripple of desire that fluctuated between the hate. A current that Ten could feel exude off of them whenever they were in close quarters to each other.’
Ten chuckled.
“Fine I guess we can’t come in, My ball and chain doesn’t want me to have any fun apparently.” Nine teased.
Ten watched Sun carefully observing everyone around him as he always did. It was a trait that Kit had found extremely attractive in Ten and one of the main reasons they had always been such a matching pair for each other. He hid a smirk the moment he saw Sun suck back a smirk of amusement at Nine.
“Yeah he is right, I don’t want him to have any fun.” Sun agreed.
Ten shook his head.
“Well, I mean if you guys insist on being boring.” He said playing along.
“Oh, I do insist. He already wastes enough time when he is supposed to be practicing.” Sun stated.
“I do not!”
“Oh please, you spend more time doing your lives and looking in the mirror,” Sun said.
Ten watched him curiously wondering if he was being serious since his voice and face showed only displeasure feeling like the situation was about to get uncomfortable real quick if Sun was serious. Because he would be about to defend his boy Nine. He had known the kid for two years and while he was a straight-up flirt and goofball, he was selfless and kind too.
“You love yourself too much which is why you spend all day in front of a mirror.”
Ten relaxed and held back a chuckle as those words helped him become more comfortable in the situation as he got the joke.
“Lies, all of that is lies…I mean…”
“I do lives, once a week if I can, but I don’t spend more than a few minutes in the mirror every morning before coming to work.” Nine defended himself.
“Where you spend all day looking at yourself in the mirror.” Sun pointed out.
Nine opened his mouth about to snap, then stopped as the joke clicked.
“Wooowww.”
“You are really lucky you are cute, you know that. Because your jokes are straight-up terrible sometimes.”
Sun grinned.
“You are lucky you are talented or you wouldn’t be tolerable either.”
Ten chuckled. “Okay, guys either come in and squabble or leave and do it in the car. I am not standing guard to the in-between.”
“Okay, okay, we are going,” Sun stated, grabbing Nine’s arm and dragging him towards the elevator.
“Wait did you just admit to liking me back?” Nine asked.
“I said you were tolerable.” Sun pointed out.
“With you, that’s practically the same thing.” Nine said excitedly.
“Why do I even bother?” He heard Nine say with exasperation and he clicked the door shut with a chuckle.
“Who was that?” Heart asked, coming up to him.
Ten paused seeing the anxiety and concern on Heart’s face.
“Oh, it was just Nine he brought me my jacket. He was bickering with Sun in the hall I invited them in but they couldn’t stay.”
“Oh, okay.” Heart said.
Ten could tell he was dazed and not really paying attention to anything.
“Did he seem okay? Was he alright?” Heart asked.
“Who Nine?” Ten asked.
Heart nodded, pinching his bottom lip with his fingers abusing it almost.
“Yeah, he looked fine, he looked much better than the past while. We have been concerned about his ankle but Sun is helping him get better.”
“Why? Did he say something to you when you were over there the other day?” Ten asked.
Heart nodded his head no, looking slightly relieved.
“I have been feeling strange whenever I am around him lately. I guess maybe since they are old friends, and Nine was hurting I guess I was just feeling empathetic towards him. Because just now my ankle was really hurting.”
Ten looked down at Heart’s ankle.
“Hmm, do you want me to get some ice for you?”
Heart shook his head no.
“No it’s almost gone now, the feeling was really strong before but now it is almost unnoticeable, I think it will be fine in a few minutes.”
“Okay,” Ten stated then rubbed Heart on the back comfortingly.
“Why don’t you help me make dinner for Mouse before May Li gets here.”
‘I dunno what is going on but hopefully that will help distract you from your worries.’ Ten thought as he led Heart into the kitchen.
Heart nodded as if in another world and followed him blindly into the kitchen
Ten pulled out some cabbage and handed it to Heart.
“Here why don’t you rip the leaves off then wash the cabbage and rinse it off for me to cut up?” He asked.
Heart’s eyebrows creased together and his face scrunched up as if he were feeling very uncomfortable but did exactly as asked and walked over to the sink and started washing the cabbage absentmindedly.
Ten sighed, watching as Heart was so absentminded that he stuck the whole thing under the water first before ripping it up. After about a minute he seemed to blink a few times and come out of the trans he was in and then really looked at what he was doing.
He sighed but it looked more as if he were relieved, and he began peeling the leaves off the large head.
Ten walked past him to the fridges to grab the sauce and touched Heart’s shoulder reassuringly.
“Are you feeling better now?” He asked.
Heart nodded.
“I dunno what it was, but the moment Nine came over I started to get this crazy funny feeling on my ankle, and an even worse tightening in my chest.”
“I guess I was just anxious. I have been feeling very much like my whole world has been spinning lately. There is so much going on, at least midterms are over with, because having lost Num, to having Min move out, our lease ending and my midterms. I was starting to have enough stress for three of me.” Heart said with a nervous chuckle.
Ten nodded along, his eyebrows raising at the lease coming up part.
“Your lease is ending on your house. Haven’t you lived there since you were seven?”
Heart nodded.
“Wow, how does it feel to be saying goodbye to your childhood home?”
“It’s both hard, nerve-racking, and yet exciting and I am looking forward to finding a new place.”
“Oh, finding a new place? So you haven’t yet?” Ten asked.
Heart nodded his head no. “Not, yet. I am still not sure what I want to do. I was thinking of maybe taking the lease over, but then I thought maybe not. So I decided moving would be good, but I can’t tell if I want to move closer to work or closer to my campus. I have a year left on campus but…”
“But?” Ten pried.
“My internship is over in a month…”
Ten waited knowing where he was going with it. It was something he himself had wondered about anytime Kit talked to him about things. ‘These two lovely idiots had confessed to each other, and Saint would sometimes still slip into Boss mode, but even he could see that they hadn’t stopped to talk about just what was happening to Heart once the internship ended.’
‘He had no doubt in his mind that Saint would keep him on and would do anything to make that happen. Though he wasn’t sure what Heart wanted.’
‘Would Heart want to be the kinda person who relied on Saint for love, for money, and for a job? Could he feel secure in himself if he did? Heart had always been very much independent, even with working for Saint he worked alongside him, a complement to what Saint needed. Giving up everything of himself to take on everything of Saint’s he wasn’t sure Heart wanted to do that.’
‘He knew he could just as easily suggest they move in together, that hecould tell Saint to give him a job. But he wasn’t sure outside of Heart loving Saint, what else Heart was ready to give, and receive.’
“I do have a nice little nest egg right now but the place I get will have to be a decent price or I may just deplete that far too quickly.”
“Hmmm, maybe when we get back I can help you look for a place.” Ten offered.
Heart sighed.
“That would be great, thanks, Ten,” He said smiling up at him sweetly.
Ten chuckled.
“Of course, happy to help,” He added.
