Sweet Darling Wife: Just Kiss Me Goodbye, Mr. President! - Chapter 51
Chapter 51: Somebody Asked Her Out for Tea
Tang Li took over the phone and scrolled through the posts on the website.
Wu Xuehan was right. She did not see any post about her anymore.
“By the way, Ah Li.” Wu Xuehan approached Tang Li and said to her shyly, “A man sent me breakfast this morning without saying any word. He ran away the minute he gave me my breakfast. But, he seemed quite old.”
Tang Li turned and looked at her.
Wu Xuehan bit her lower lip and smiled sweetly. “It’s the first time a guy has bought breakfast for me.”
Tang Li wanted to explain but she swallowed what she wanted to say when she saw that Wu Xuehan was quite delighted about it. She replied with a smile, “That’s good. No guy ever sends me breakfast before.”
The news was spread in the art college in the evening.
A group of students who were quite active on the college’s website was being asked to go to the police station for an investigation. They had not returned yet.
One of them was Yu Sui.
Yu Sui was taken away by a plain-clothed police officer from the students’ hostel.
Another student was from First Film Academy across the road.
Tang Li looked up from her textbook when Wu Xuehan mentioned ‘Shen Na’.
She remembered about Shen Na. In her former life, Li Yuan’er had a stylist called Shen Na. When she went for the shooting, Shen Na had always bullied her with different kinds of tricks on a daily basis.
Those tricks were small matters but it affected her greatly when accumulated. It made her suffer when she was with the filming crew.
Many celebrities from the entertainment circle had their own personal PR team.
Surely, it was the same case with Li Yuan’er.
Moreover, her mother was the president of Tian Yi Enterprise. The PR team she had recruited for her was an exceptional one.
In her former life, Shen Na was not only Li Yuan’er’s personal stylist but also her assistant in dealing with her accounts on social media.
Tang Li thought that the obnoxious comments and posts regarding her must be related to Li Yuan’er.
To them, Tang Li was just nobody. That was why Li Yuan’er did not make use of her PR team but had probably asked only Shen Na to do what she wanted. Hence, Shen Na had manipulated numerous accounts to post negative comments about Tang Li so as to create an image that Tang Li was being condemned by thousands of people.
If that kind of thing happened to any ordinary college student, their lives would surely have been affected.
They would have been forced to drop out of college if they could not take the pressure anymore.
Although Tang Li was not bothered by the rumors, she still felt how the other students distanced themselves from her when she went for classes in college.
The numerous posts on the website seemed to imply to the students from the art college that Tang Li had annoyed someone who was powerful and influential. The ones who were close to her would be burdened too.
But, the issue was overturned now.
All of a sudden, everyone was scared.
Tang Li felt that Li Wenyan was not the one who had helped her to protect her reputation.
Furthermore, Shen Na was working for Li Yuan’er.
Even if Li Wenyan was unaware of that, surely Ou Yangqian would know that.
Wu Xuehan was lying on her bed and playing with a Tetris cube now. “I heard that they are cleaning up the website. The police officers might have noticed about the bad rumors on our students’ website. So, they are working to get rid of them.”
Then, she looked over at Tang Li with her round and almond-like eyes. “Has there been any misunderstanding… regarding Yu Sui?”
Tang Li did not reply.
Throughout the three years she had been studying at the college in her former life, she rarely had any contact with Yu Sui.
In the beginning, Yu Sui had liked to abuse her verbally. She had also liked to embarrass her and watch her become speechless in front of everyone. During their third year of college, Yu Sui had ignored her existence completely.
After a few years, she had met with Yu Sui once when she had attended a dinner party with Han Jifeng.
