Ru Capital Prison Building

Emperor He Mo together with King Ru Ning and his son, Emperor Ru Shi intended to interrogate the two archers. They did not waste their time and went directly to the place where the two are locked up. Unfortunately, before the three of them could reach the prison where the attackers are place in confinement, a soldier reported that those suspects are all dead! The examiner of the dead bodies found out that the two archers have lost their souls!

“What?! How is it possible? To extinguish the soul means depriving the person to be reborn after their death!” Emperor Ru Shi frowned when he heard the soldier’s report.

Upon hearing the cause of death, Ye Shin also ponders for a while. The sword cultivator girl named Ye Zhu can corrode her attacker’s souls, but is it enough to completely remove a soul from the body? Ye Shin asked in her mind. She was not suspecting her opponent in the arena earlier but the lady sensed a deep malice from the person accompanying the girl.

“In the Region A, if I remember correctly the people in the Empire of Ma are soul practitioners! They can search souls, preserve souls and other unknown things. Could it be that they have managed to infiltrate my capital?” King Ru Ning mumbled as they slowly exited the prison building.

Emperor He Mo and the rest remain silent. Even Emperor Ru Shi is in deep thought. If the capital is infiltrated, the citizens are in danger!

“Lady Ye Shin, your opponent earlier with the sword emitting a black aura, do you know her?” Emperor Ru Shi suddenly asked her.

“She told me she has been away in the Empire of He for over a year. The girl’s name is Ye Zhu. We are on the same clan. But it’s not her. Her skills are lacking to pull off this stunt.” Ye Shin responded to Emperor Ru Shi. Given the girl’s skills, she is definitely not capable of killing!

Emperor He Mo looked at them talking but he felt something sudden and unsettling is happening inside his body. His heart seemed to pulse slowly and his mind is in the state of disorder. Strangely, the emperor could not hear the voices of his bodyguard and his friend. Ye Shin sensed his unusual behavior. The lady stared at him for a moment.

“What’s wrong?” Ye Shin quietly asked him when she saw that the emperor stared at her looking distracted. The young emperor also saw Ye Shin talking towards him again but it seems like he had lost his sense of hearing. He could not hear what she said! An overwhelming feelings of anxiety and frantic agitation suddenly envelopes the emperor’s mind.

The lady saw his pale face staring at her with confuse and panic eyes. Emperor Ru Shi and King Ru Ning was about to say something but before any of them could asked the young emperor, Emperor He Mo had collapsed! King Ru Ning had immediately caught his body before it could hit the ground. He had fainted!

“Brother He Mo! Get all imperial physicians.” Emperor Ru Shi shouted his order in panic tone. One of the soldiers immediately runs in haste to get the physicians.

Ye Shin’s hands was gripped tightly by the young emperor before he lost his consciousness. The lady calmly hold him until the imperial physicians arrived. The physicians gently carried his body towards the carriage and swiftly went back to the palace.

In the palace, the imperial physicians started checking the Emperor of He. King Ru Ning is anxiously walking back and forth. Ye Shin and Emperor Ru Shi are both looking closely at the physicians examining the unconscious body in bed.

“There seems to be nothing wrong, your majesty. The pulse is normal and his breathing is normal. I think that the He Emperor is over come by fatigue. I will write a prescription for him to take when he wakes up.” the head physician politely reported to Emperor Ru Shi before leaving them in the room.

Ye Shin walks near the body and checks the internal organ of the emperor. When she closed her eyes to examine, the lady was in great shocked of what she discovered. She was sure that she wrapped his entire internal organ with her inner force but now, she cannot sense any of her inner force! It was gone!

Ye Shin examined more closely at the emperor’s body internally until she notice two abnormalities. One is in his brain and the other is in his heart. She saw something but she could not describe it. There seems to be some purple lines that looks like a veins wrapped in those organs. Ye Shin frowned deeply before she glanced at Emperor Ru Shi.

“Your majesty, can you tell me what you know about my emperor.” Ye Shin calmly said to Emperor Ru Shi. She appears to be solemn but her tone is something laced with slight coldness. Emperor Ru Shi looked at her for a long time before he released a deep sigh.

“What you just have discovered, it is better of you ask Brother He Mo when he wakes up.” she heard Emperor Ru Shi stated before he left the room. His father, King Ru Ning also followed his son leaving Ye Shin alone with her unconscious emperor. She stared at their retreating figures until it was gone in her sight. They are obviously avoiding her question!

The lady glanced at the peaceful body of the emperor for a long time. She tried giving him some of her inner force for him to gain his vitality and consciousness but no matter how Ye Shin concentrated her inner force, it seems to vanish! It was so strange!

She then saw that the purple veins in his heart and brain is actively throbbing as if it was excited of her inner force. It was not only excited but it was also the reason why her inner force vanished in the emperor’s body! The purple veins are absorbing her inner force! Ye Shin stopped sending her inner force when she heard a hoarse voice asking for more.

“Woman, send more! Send me more of this inner force!”

The voice sounded like it does not belong to a human! She looks at the whole room and found out that this voice came from the unconscious body itself of the He Emperor! The once solemn heart of the lady slightly trembled. The voice became more demanding when she stopped her actions.

A sudden realization hits Ye Shin. She immediately took a few steps away from the bed. The lady just made a quick comprehension of what is happening. She realized that something is sealed in the body of the emperor. And whatever creature is inside his body, it was feeding her inner force!

Ye Shin silently sits in her bed when a servant maid came to bring them food and the imperial physician’s prescription. Ye Shin placed the food and medicine quietly on the table and went back to her bed. The harsh low sound she heard from the unconscious body of Emperor He Mo had already stopped.

For a moment, the lady wonders if she is just hallucinating. She then saw him twitched his fingers before opening his eyes. The emperor looks at his surrounding before his eyes darted to his bodyguard.

“What happened?” the emperor finally gained his consciousness and asked his bodyguard in a low tone.

“You fainted, your majesty.” Ye Shin calmly responded.

“What time is it?” Emperor He Mo inquired again.

“It is now past midnight, your majesty.” he heard the lady answered him. A long silence enveloped them before Ye Shin asked him another question.

“What is sealed in your body, your majesty?” she curiously asked. The lady managed to catch the sudden changes of the emperor’s expression upon hearing what she just asked.

“You found out?!” the emperor was taken aback by her question. He stared at her with an undisguised surprise in his eyes. Based on the young emperor’s reaction, Ye Shin is convinced that the emperor is aware of what is inside his body.

“While you are unconscious, I heard a low voice inside your body.” Ye Shin solemnly explained.

“It must have awakened! It is a soul of an elder from the Empire of Ma. His soul is sealed in my heart and his memories are also sealed in my brain. I was young when I met the elder. He meant no harm, he just want to escape from his enemies, that is why he sealed his own soul and memories to me. It was resting inside me and had been quiet for a long time I almost forgot its existence.” the emperor directly answered her.

Ye Shin nods her head but did not ask Emperor He Mo anymore. She also remembers the comment made by King Ru Ning when they found out that the two archers lost their souls. The lady slowly walks towards him with a food in her hands. The emperor silently eats the food before he sleeps again. Ye Shin on the other hand stayed awake and checked the emperor from time to time.
