Swordswoman: The Few Unrecorded Decades - Chapter 43
The manual of Soul Voyager was delivered to Ye Shin by a servant. As she holds the book and flip them open a frown appears in between her eyebrows. The pages are blank! She examined the next page and it’s still blank. All pages do not have anything written on it!
“This manual is about soul cultivation, it would not be easy for anyone to read its content by just flipping the pages! Lady, keep this book for now while I check of the way to use this.” the elder’s soul inside her mind told her when he noticed her confusion.
Emperor He Mo saw her frowning and looked at the book as well. When he saw its blank pages, he winced. “Could it be that Emperor Hong Te scammed us with this manual?” he asked.
“This is a cultivation of soul. What is the use of this book to you, Emperor He Mo?” the Hei Emperor asked the two.
“This is to offer as a gift for an acquaintance…” Emperor He Mo trailed. The Hei Emperor nods his head. Whether he understands the secrecy behind the words of the young emperor or he just accepted his vague response, only him knows.
Emperor Hong Te then walked on the center of the stage. Three ordinary papers roll like a scroll were in his hands. He smiled widely and swept his gaze to everyone inside the auction hall.
“Greetings! For the benefit of the people who do not know me here, I am the Emperor of this Empire of Hong!” the business minded emperor introduced and people are immediately cheering for him while looking at the three rolls of paper in his hands.
“This is the finale of the event. The first object is this paper containing the most mysterious identity of a person whom you know in the invitation.” Emperor Hong Te paused as he subconsciously glanced at the front where Ye Shin is sitting. He suddenly found himself hesitant to utter the name White Death directly. All the people were listening intently to him and everyone in the hall’s attention is completely at him.
“The second paper is the information between two Empires! The Empire of He and the Empire of Ru’s relationship. And lastly, the emergence of a ruler’s token for an Empress of a certain kingdom in Region A.” Emperor Hong Te vaguely announced but the people had long understood and know the specifics of what the emperor is talking about except for Emperor He Mo and Ye Shin!
They were not able to see an invitation of this auction event and had just joined out of circumstances. When Emperor Hong Te saw them entering the auction hall earlier, he was focus on his profits that he had forgotten that the two people are the main subject of the goods. He had never asked them for consent to publicize the information! This is why Emperor Hong Te made a quick assessment and vaguely said the subject the moment realization hits him.
“All these items will start for the price of 100,000 gold coins!” Emperor Hong Te finished his announcement and majority of the bidders dropped their jaws. They have expected the item to be expensive but not to the point of reaching a hundred gold coins!
“What a huge amount of money!”
“You might rob an entire empire!”
“That rolled papers in his hands looks very ordinary! How shameful to placed a starting price like this!”
While some bidders are expressing their complaints, someone had also started to bid the first item.
“100,001 gold coins!”
When the people heard the price being offered, they did not know whether to laugh or cry! The man just added one gold coin on the price! This move is unethical inside the auction. Even Emperor Hong Te glared at the direction where the man had spoken. But soon after, another person started to follow the man!
“100,002 gold coins?”
This time the person could not even declare the price he just offered and ended up like questioning his own price! Most people laughed at this but soon they also followed bidding by increasing a single gold coin.
“100,003 gold coins!”
“100,004 gold coins?”
“100,005 gold coins!”
The lines of frowned in Emperor Hong Te’s forehead deepened as the senseless offer from the bidders continue. He patiently stands in front trying his best to keep his usual composure. But his burning gaze of anger could not be masked.
“200,000 gold coins!” Finally, another person offered a decent price! Emperor Hong Te started to calm down when he heard the offer.
“200,001 gold coins!” another offer voiced out from the bidders.
“200,002 gold coins?”
“1,000,000 gold coins!” an impatient tone from a lady sounded and Emperor Hong Te broke out a smile.
People snapped their gaze towards the person and saw that it was the woman who arrived with a red horse. His male companion looked at them arrogantly. They could not help but looked at them with disdainful eyes but did not bid anymore.
“Emperor He Mo, I will have to leave now. My carriage is here and the streets are not so busy anymore. It’s been great to talk with you!” The Hei Emperor suddenly said in his usual friendly manner as he stood up from his seat.
“Take care on your way.” Emperor He Mo responded and looked at the man who slowly walks towards the exit of the hall.
The second paper was directly bid by Emperor Huang Le for 500,000 gold coins. Although other bidders were interested to know the relationship of Ru and He Empire, they did not have enmity towards them. Unlike the Huang Emperor who had been battling against the Ru Empire on the territorial conflict of Yellow River. The last item was also bid by the man who has a scepter for 800,500 gold coins. The people did not pay much attention to the He Empire and they did not also know much about the history of the kingdom’s Royal family.
After the auction, the people quickly dispersed. Emperor He Mo and Ye Shin are also walking together with the crowd when Ye Shin suddenly halted. Two different hands tapped in her back and for some unknown reason, her vitality is gradually decreasing! The hands stayed for a few seconds before it was gone and her vitality went back to normal.
On the street, two people were hastily running as the organ in their chests started to pump vigorously! This two people are exactly the owner of the hands who tried to absorb Ye Shin’s vitality. They were surprised by the reaction of their internal organs as it felt like its bubbling! Soon, dark marks started to appear in their skin.
“What is this?” the lady said while gasping as she noticed the marks in her arms. They are riding their red horses and in a rush to go back to their Zhichen Sect!
“You said the lady is a sword cultivator, why are we having this reaction from her vitality?!” the lady proceeded to scold his companion as dark spots continue to appear in her skin.
“I don’t know!” the man shouted. Frustration is evident in his voice.
They expected to dry up the strength of the lady earlier but now it looks like their action had bought them a misfortune! As their horse run in abnormal speed, they soon arrived on their sect. The lady immediately looks for her grandfather.
“Grandpa! Grandpa! Grandpa!” she banged the door of her grandfather’s room forcefully without thinking if the old man has a guest or resting.
“What are you banging…!” the old man was about to scold her but suddenly stopped when he noticed the markings in her skin. The dots have now connected into a pattern that looks like a number!
“What have you done!” the old man screamed in horror as he dragged the girl inside the room. There are already three old masters seeping tea inside and when the girl entered. One of them dropped the tea cup after seeing the markings in the girl’s body! The other two shivered in fear.
“A curse!” the three old masters exclaimed in unison. Their eyes were wide and disbelief is in their tone.
“La’er what did you do?” the grandfather of the girl managed to asked the girl.
“I… I went to the Empire of Hong on the Region S.” the girl answered as tears started to fall in her. She felt the tightening of her internal organs as if something is squeezing it.
“The Region S! There is no one in Region S, who still practices spirit cultivation! How is this possible?” one of the three old masters commented and looked at the girl with pity.
“Spirit cultivators have long been gone, decades ago!” another one of them stated.
“How exactly did you get this markings, La’er?” the girl heard her grandfather asked but she did not responded to him. She could feel like her head would explode anytime soon!
“Ahhhh! Grandpa, my head and internal organs hurt!” she screamed in pain. Her grandfather immediately checked her pulse and sensed nothing. His granddaughter has no pulse!
“Her spirit is being attacked by the curse!” one of the three old masters stated and stood up on his seat. He then makes a hand gesture before placing his right index finger towards the girl’s head. He hoped to trace the origin of the curse!
The old man closed his eyes and focused on the origin of the curse, and then a scene started to play in his mind. But this scene is something that is beyond the old master’s expectation. The scene that is shown is his mind is a bloodbath! Dead bodies lying on the ground with some of the eyes are still open. It was a massacre of an entire clan! This scene was the exact moment when Ye Shin, her father and the Elder of the Sword Cultivators Clan extracted their revenge to the Spirit Cultivators.
The old man looked around but could only see the piles of dead body. The origin of curse that the girl has is unknown! He could not see it!
