Swordswoman: The Few Unrecorded Decades - Chapter 44
Silence descended in the room for a long time. After a while, the old master opened his eyes gasping for air. Although he had witnessed many fights in his youth but he had never seen such horrifying numbers of death until today. The old master directly puked the tea he just drank as the thought of the gory scene flashed through his mind.
“What did you see? Have you found out the origin of these markings?” the grandfather of the girl asked to his fellow old master.
“No! Girl, what exactly did you do on Region A! You better tell your grandfather or we will not be able to save your spirit!” the old master scolded the girl who is now started bawling in tears. Her cries intensifies when she saw the old man vomited after checking on her.
“What did you saw that made you vomit?” one of the other old masters asked and followed his gesture. As the second old master placed his hands to the head of the girl, the scene he just witnessed made him faint. His body suddenly dropped on the floor! The first master shakes his head while staring at his fellow.
“It was the annihilation of the Spirit Cultivators Clan. It is unknown to me the origin of the curse she had afflicted but I saw the massacre.” the first old master faintly explained as he tried to stabilize his breathing.
“What!!!” the third old master had directly paled on his seat. He could not believe that the origin of the markings in the girl’s body could not be identified by his fellow! Their sect is known to track the origins of certain affliction such as calamity and diseases then make arrangements to solve the problem.
“I tried to absorb the strength of a lady in the Hong Capital, grandpa. Huhuhu” the girl finally confessed as tears keeps streaming down her cheeks.
Her grandfather’s looks became ashen. He suddenly made a hand gesture and quickly checks the absorption method the girl used. After a few breath, he immediately saw the back of a lady. The back figure is enough for him to understand who his granddaughter had offended. The girl saw his grandfather shook his head and slowly sat on the floor.
“It was White Death!” the girl heard his grandpa mumbled looking below completely at loss.
“Impossible!” the girl screamed in disbelief. She then took the paper she had bid out and rolled it open. Her vision started to get blurry but she managed to see the sketch of tiny blades on the first page. Then on the next page was an image of Ye Shin drawn perfectly by Princess Hong Mei.
“How could it be her?” the girl mumbled before she felt the sudden strong force tugged and squeezed her chest then her heart finally stopped moving. She dropped the paper from her hands and her body fell down. The carvings in her skin were actually deeply seethed and had penetrated her internal organs.
If she had just opened the paper before exiting the auction hall, she could have easily avoided her misfortune.
“I’m sorry. There is nothing we can do to her. Your granddaughter is beyond redemption. Her spirit had long been gone from her body. It’s a miracle that she was able to go back in our sect with her body still functioning.” the first old master told the grandfather of the girl.
“Yes, I have checked her pulse earlier and sense nothing.” the grandfather of the girl mumbled.
“Since her senses were still alright even though her spirit was already damage, this could only mean that the attack does not have an intention to kill her!” the third old master stated his realization.
“It was not an attack. My granddaughter willingly absorbed the curse! The will power of White Death is from the desire to annihilate the Spirit Cultivators Clan. That same will power had created a curse within her strength. But instead of harming her, it will harm her enemy.” the grandfather of the girl told them.
“This White Death, you have been telling us about this person in the past. How did you know this person?” the first old master inquired curiously.
“It was purely circumstantial and is not important. The biggest problem now is the wedding of La’er and the son of Zikun Sect. That man was madly in love with my granddaughter. How are we going to explain that the wedding will no longer happen?” The grandfather stood up and holds the face of the girl. Confusion is evident in his face as he asked his fellow masters.
“Don’t worry about the Zikun Sect. You just handle the funeral of your granddaughter.” the first old man said as he looked at the grieving fellow beside the girl.
The first old master then walked out of the room. As he closed the door, he saw a young man bent his body like a fetus on the ground. He approached the young man and when he got closer, his eyes widened in disbelief. How could he forget? His grandson had accompanied the girl in the Hong Empire!
As his eyes travelled to the arms of his grandson, then he noticed that the markings are fainter than what the girl had. He checked his pulse and felt it. The boy is still alive! The old master runs back inside the room.
“My grandson has still a pulse! Can you save him?” he said in a rush manner. The grandfather of the girl immediately understood and went directly to the young man. This young man is his disciple and had been close friends of his granddaughter therefore, it is his responsibility to save the boy if there is still a chance.
“His spirit is still here.” the old man stated and immediately made an arrangement to save the boy.
“I made an arrangement for his spirit to be cleansed. I have to put him in a lake and left him there until tomorrow. If he submerged, he will survive but if he floats, he will die. Your grandson has a great chance to survive.” the old man explained to the first old master and carry his disciple on his shoulder.
The two left the other masters inside the room and walked towards the lake not far from the old man’s house. When they arrived, the boy’s body was immediately placed on the lake. The body slowly sinks at the bottom indicating that the spirit of the boy will survive. His grandfather sighed in relief upon seeing the body going down the lake. Soon, some markings on his arms were slowly removed by the water.
While the Zhichen Sect is dealing with their two youths, some parts of the Hong Capital had also turn into chaos. As Ye Shin and Emperor He Mo finally exited the auction hall, Emperor Ma Bing and Emperor Huang Le was also secretly following them. When they arrived in a less populated area, Emperor Ma Bing tried to attack Ye Shin’s Soul.
The Ma Emperor sent a portion of his soul to the lady but when his soul entered in her body, it was dissolved. The old emperor perseveres on his attack but changed his strategy. He went on possessing the innocent passerby and instructed them to catch the lady.
Ye Shin could sense the faint malice of Emperor Ma Bing but she failed to detect the possessed passerby around her. When these innocent people started surrounding them, she got confused. The people seems like they want to attack her any minute from now but she could not feel a hint of hostility from them! Before she could think, a middle aged woman grabbed her! She managed to dodge from the assault. When their eyes meet, she saw that the middle aged woman’s eyes were staring upright instead of looking at her.
“They are possessed.” the elder’s soul told her and then the people surrounding them collapsed on the ground.
“Let’s go!” Emperor Ma Bing hissed and glared at the unconscious body around Ye Shin and Emperor He Mo before je dragged the Huang Emperor with him.
When they reached in the corner and was about to turn to the right side, the Ma Emperor accidentally collided with someone. His body was knocked on the ground, adding fuel to his agitation. In his anger, he focused his soul and assaulted the person he had just bumped. But before his whole soul attack could reach a few inches on the person, his body floated.
“Insignificant!” the person whispered, enough for him to hear and then walked right past at him.
Then the body of Ma emperor was left suspended on the air. He tried to lift his feet and touch the ground, but he failed! His body won’t move!
“What happened, Emperor Ma Bing?” the Huang Emperor asked his companion while seeing his dazed look. The Ma Emperor seemed to be awakened by his call and noticed that his body is still on the ground.
What happened? Am I hallucinating earlier? Was it an illusion? A series of questions flooded in Emperor Ma Bing’s thoughts as he looked at the figure he had just bumped. All the emperor could see was the back of the man wearing a torn cloak. He then remembered the man’s insult to him. `Insignificant.
“How dare you call me insignificant?” Emperor Ma Bing quickly roared wildly and stood up from the ground. He then launched again his attack towards the man.
