Swordswoman: The Few Unrecorded Decades - Chapter 45
As the emperor well obeyed by the people of his empire, Emperor Ma Bing had never heard a direct insult towards him. Not until that day! He is a ruler of an empire and to have someone directly called him insignificant right from his face gives the man another level of anger burning within him!
Assaulting someone using a Soul Attack directly aims to ruin the mental capability of a person. Consumed by fury, Emperor Ma Bing launched his Soul Attack towards the man who is wearing the torn cloak. This time, his attack is pure with the full intention of not only to possess a person but to completely corrupt his mind and memories.
Within a blink of an eye, his attack reached to his target. But the man wearing torn cloak was not affected at all! His attack passes through the body of the man, as if his figure is just a mirage.
Emperor Huang Le did not heard the man’s degrading word, so he was baffled when he saw the rage of anger from his fellow emperor. The Ma Emperor had provided few of his soul practitioners to assist this Huang Emperor against the Ru Empire. Although they have different motives, they managed to have a good friendship. The soldiers that were captured by Huang Army were tortured by those soul practitioners.
“What are you doing, Emperor Ma Bing?” the Huang Emperor quickly asked when he saw the Ma Emperor launched an attack. He saw him glanced at his direction and noticed that Emperor Ma Bing’s eyes turned black. The man beside him is like an empty shell!
The Huang Emperor immediately slapped his companion before madness would completely consume him. Fortunately, as his palm landed towards the face of Emperor Ma Bing, the force was enough to wake his senses back.
“What are you doing?” the Huang Emperor shouted on his face. He saw the man looked in dazed but did not speak.
Emperor Huang Le waited for his response but the man slowly walks away from him. The Huang emperor stared at the retreating figure with a big frown on his face. After a while, the man walks back to him. If only the Huang Emperor had a keen sight, he would have seen that the insulting words and the fury of Emperor Ma Bing had driven him into insanity. The man is now walking back and forth in front of him. This action forced the Huang Emperor decided to drag him towards their carriage. As they drove back towards the Region A, Emperor Ma Bing would sometimes laugh and then went on silence. He had also kept on mumbling degrading words such as worthless, unimportant and insignificant!
Emperor Huang Le had no idea what had happened to Emperor Ma Bing. They were together the whole time and he had not seen nor perceived any attack from an enemy. This is because the moment the man wearing the torn cloak uttered the word ‘insignificant’ to Emperor Ma Bing, the man’s goal was not just to give insult to the emperor! Instead, it was a declaration or an order that the man will become insignificant!
“Go directly to the Palace of Chi.” the Huang Emperor instructed the coachman driving his carriage. At some point of their journey, Emperor Ma Bing’s shifts of demeanor had scared Emperor Huang Le that he decided to seek help to Emperor Chi Xing, the ruler of Chi Empire.

*Zhichen Sect
The next day, disciples of the Zhichen Sect had gathered on the funeral hall. They have learned the reckless death of their fellow youth. Her grandfather had even made her as an example to be more cautious when using thier Absorption Cultivation as it could backfire and harm them instead.
The first old master had also gone towards the Zikun Sect. As he reached the entrance of the sect, the sight of three big swords along the wall made him held his breath. Unlike their sect who are cultivating the forbidden Absorption, the Zikun Sect are home of Sword Masters. The three big swords in the entrance are owned by the peerless leaders and Sword Masters of the sect. The owner had long been gone while their swords were left in the entrance of their sect to remind the young generation of these leaders great contribution to their sect.
“Welcome!” A young man greeted the first old master. The members of Zikun sect wear a purple garments uniform. Therefore, it is easy for them to spot an outsider inside their territory.
“I came here to speak with Zi Tong.” the old master said and the youth nods his head before guiding the old man.
“May I ask your name senior?” the young man politely said while they are slowly walking down the small pathway.
“An old master from Zhichen Sect.” the old man responded. When they arrived on sect leader’s pavilion, the young man announced his arrival.
“Sect leader, an old master from Zhichen Sect had come to speak with you.” The youth then, opened the door and let the old man enter.
“It’s good to see you, Zi Tong.” the first old master said.
“Hahaha, did you bring good news to me? Did the granddaughter of Zhichen Sect finally agree the date of her wedding to my son?” the sect leader asked the old master directly.
“Zi Tong, there will be no wedding anymore.” the old master decided to give a straightforward response to the sect leader.
“What do you mean by no wedding? Everything is already arranged! Could it be that your sect had looked down on my sect? Do you believe that you can just cancel this arrangement anytime you want?!” the sect leader rambled loudly. He had dotted his son and he knows that his son had sincere interest with the lady from Zhichen Sect. Upon hearing what the old master said, he could not help but flared up in anger.
“No.” the old master paused for a long time and released a deep sigh. He then shakes his head while looking at the ground.
“La’er had met a misfortune on her journey to the Hong Empire. She had died.” the old master finally managed to tell him.
“Hong Empire! That small kingdom? Who is capable of harming the lady of Zhichen Sect in such small place?!” the sect leader interrogated him with disbelief.
“Alas! She had caused harm on herself.” the first old master said and did not give any further explanation.
“Someone! Summon Zi Ye here!” the sect leader ordered as he tried to rationalize things in his head.
Not long after, his son appeared holding a long sword in his hands.
“Hello Senior! What is it, father?” Zi Ye asked politely and smiled at them before he placed his sword on the corner of the room.
“La’er is dead.” his father stated and the young man immediately stiffened after hearing the news.
“What?!” he shouted. The politeness in his tone and friendliness expression he had worn was immediately vanished.
“Zi Ye, my lady had encountered a misfortune in her travel few days ago in the Hong Empire. Her grandfather and the disciple of Zhichen Sect are attending her funeral today.” the old master said.
“What misfortune? Who killed my La’er?” Zi Ye asked the old master aggressively.
“Zi Ye, calm down. You go to the Zhichen Sect and attend the funeral of La’er first.” his father apprehended his son.
“Yes, father. Senior, let’s go.” Zi Ye said and picked his long sword.
“Zi Tong, my lady died because of recklessness. I hope you think clearly about this.” the old master warned the sect leader after the young man walks out.
“Recklessness! For you to give me this reminder, just who had caused the death of La’er?” the sect leader said.
“She… My lady died by using our cultivation against Whi— ahem! She had absorbed a curse and it killed her spirit.” the old master stuttered as he tried to give an accurate response without implicating anyone.
“A curse? My Zikun Sect is not afraid of curses! We have managed to cultivate our sword wills, enough to protect us against this kind of attack. Don’t worry, I am old enough to be called reckless!” the sect leader declared.
The first old master looked at him for a while but did not speak anymore. He then turned his back to the sect leader and walked out of the room. Soon, two figures are on their way to the Zhichen Sect. One is the first old master, riding his red horse while the other is Zi Ye, flying on his long sword.
When Zi Ye entered the funeral hall, he directly went to the coffin while holding his long sword on his right hand. The girl inside the coffin does not look like she had died a peaceful death. Her eyes were tightly shut and there is a deep frown in between her eyebrows. It looked like she was extremely in pain until her last breath!
Zi Ye looked at his beloved with deep pain. As if he also felt the pain she had suffered. It was very rare to see a Sword Master crying but he could not control his eyes from shedding tears.
“La’er, rest in peace. In your next life, make sure to find me in your earlier years and I will never allow anyone to cause harm on you.” Zi Ye mumbled as several tears dropped on the girl’s coffin. The day their marriage was arranged by the sect leaders, Zi Ye was ecstatic. It was just… La’er had kept on delaying their wedding date. Still, he had patiently waited for the girl. But now, his patience had left him a dead body lying in the coffin.
