Swordswoman: The Few Unrecorded Decades - Chapter 47
Zi Ye felt complicated! He had just seen La’er inside the coffin and attended her burial. He subconsciously halted his feet from stepping near the two ladies. The other five Sword Masters left him behind without noticing his abnormal reaction.
“Friend, we have seen you last few days ago along the street of the capital. This young lad wants to see you so we bought a palace appointment.” the eldest of the six men explained to the lady. Ye Shin nods her head at him in acknowledgement.
“Sis, can we compare notes?” the youngest asked her directly full of excitement in his voice.
“I am not a Sword Master. Your sword skills come from your physical strength and weapon while mine is different.” Ye Shin responded to the boy.
“But I want to learn how to control my sword like yours, sister. A grandpa told me that I can do it to my sword through awakening the consciousness of my weapon.” the young boy insisted.
“My weapon is designed to protect my friends and kill my enemies. I cannot exchanged skills or compare notes with you.” Ye Shin firmly stated and glanced at the young man whose face looks disappointed. The other five Sword Masters was speechless when they hear her explanation.
“Why not?” the boy pressed and pouted his lips. Ye Shin slightly smiled on him and thought for a good reason.
“Your sword is heavy.” She replied while pointing at the metal object on the boys back. Hearing her comment, the boy laugh and thought she was joking.
“It’s not heavy at all!” the boy defended.
Ye Shin glanced at the people behind the boy before she manifested her Spiral Sword. The weapon with its ordinary appearance did not get any reaction from the Sword Masters. They just simply looked at the sword.
Although they have seen the sword before, the Sword Masters’ understanding to weapons is that since the wielder hones them, the strength of the weapon is influenced by how it looks. Therefore, any ordinary weapon that they saw would be assessed as owned by ordinary Sword Master.
“Lighten your hands. Free them from anything and do not exert force on it. Then hold my sword.” Ye Shin gestured to the young boy to take her sword. This is the second time she allows someone to hold the Spiral Sword!
The young boy was confused but still followed her instructions. When the boy grabbed the weapon from Ye Shin’s hands, he was astonished by its weight!
“Whoa!” he expressed while looking at the Spiral Sword in his hands.
“This is the difference of our sword.” Ye Shin said and then the Spiral Sword vanished from the boy’s hands.
“Your grandpa is not wrong either. If you awaken your weapon, you will be able to control its consciousness.” Ye Shin explained to the boy.
“Sister, you mean to say that I can control my sword’s consciousness while you command your weapon using your own consciousness?” the young boy clarified.
“Yes.” the lady calmly responded.
Indeed, Sword Masters relies on their physical strength and weapon while Sword Cultivators depends on their inner force and the will of their consciousness to create a weapon. This difference is so distinctive! But to ordinary people, they would only see that both of them uses swords as weapon and would not distinguish this difference.
Although Zi Ye is standing far away from them, he had heard the explanation of the lady. He did not mind the weapon of Ye Shin as he did not know how terrifying it could be. He just looked at her and noticed how tranquil her temperament is! Even her hair does not moved despite the wind blowing off the dried leaves on the ground.
‘How did La’er provoked this lady? Now I slightly understand why senior won’t avenge his granddaughter’s death!’ Zi Ye secretly thought as he observed the lady.
He then remembered the warnings he got when he was still in Zhichen Sect. Zi Ye secretly took a deep breath before he continued walking near the group. As the other Sword Masters stood there in silence, a servant came running towards the cottage where Emperor Hong Te and Emperor He Mo were having their discussions.
“Your majesty, report! Priest Wan Wen wants to talk with you!” the servant announced loudly.
“Hmmm… What did the priest said?” Princess Hong Mei asked the servant.
“Princess, he also wants to speak with you. He said his time is almost over.” the servant answered.
“I’ll go.” Princess Hong Mei firmly said and did not wait for the servant to guide her. She quickens her pace and left without saying a word. Her action seems rude as the lady of Hong Empire but she was not concerned with her public image. She is more concerned on the priest!
Zi Ye looked at her retreating figure and finally realized that La’er is different from the girl. The girl’s tone is decisive and calculated while La’er was carefree and wilfulness.
As the girl arrived on the priest’s room, Princess Hong Mei saw that the old man is staring on the ceiling and is in deep thought. She cleared her throat loudly to notify the person of her arrival.
“You do not belong in this world, just like I am about to lose my time in this era.” the priest softly mumbled. Princess Hong Mei listened to his words and pondered for a while.
“I came from a millennium away in the future.” she responded in a very low tone.
“My bell was gone. And it was caused by someone like you. Whether that person is from the future or not, I don’t know. A person like us who does not belong in this world must not deliberately create changes here or the balance will be destroyed. Nobody from this world knows how to restore the balance and now it was broken. This continent will slowly drift away…
The people will not reach the future you had originated from. Someone in the great monarch family will hinder the growth of this civilization. The fire where civilization started will be set on blaze and ends what had begin. The water that provides nourishing of what had begun will repress all growth and drowned everything. You will be included and won’t be able to see progress of this civilization.” the priest said meaningfully before slowly closing his eyes. His heavy breathing is evident in the movement of his chest’s raising up and down. He had fall asleep once again. The man had been sleeping since he had fainted during the auction event.
Princess Hong Mei shuddered from the information that the priest told her. ‘I don’t believe that I destroyed the balance! I didn’t do anything except doing business in this world!” She secretly said in her mind. Then she slowly remembered her brief encounter with Zi Ye earlier. Princesses Hong Mei frowned like an adult. She subconsciously took a deep breath, somewhat frustrated. She stood on the room for a long time, looking at the sleeping priest on the bed before she left the room.
In the depth of his slumber, Priest Wan Wen had seen again the people in the continent slowly surrendered into lethargy. It was as if he was above them, watching as the lives are gradually drifting away. Then fire suddenly poured down from the heavens engulfing the entire continent! After the blazing fire, water had risen from the oceans trying to subdue the fire. But in the process, the water washed out the existence of mankind. The whole continent was submerged! Everything turned into nothingness!
The priest immediately jolted awake. He felt like he was also drifting. He could not even muster the energy to get up. The man tried recollecting the events where his bell disappeared but he could not remember what had transpired on that day.
“My memories in this world are slowly drifting away! Soon my physical body will follow.” the priest spoke his realization in a very low tone.
He shakes his head and stared at the ceiling once more. He had practiced divination in his whole life. The scenes in his dream will surely happen.
Emperor Hong Te entered his room and look at the priest. This Hong Emperor believed in the priest divination and had respected the man wholeheartedly. He slowly walks and approached the bed.
“Priest Wan Wen, we could not find information about the whereabouts of your bell.” the business minded emperor quietly said. He had promised to check on the object, but his men found nothing!
“I have seen a tragic prophecy. The balance of our civilization was gone. The mankind will lose on the battle they are not prepared.” the priest calmly said and glanced at the emperor’s direction.
He managed to catch a view of the people standing behind the Hong Emperor. It was Ye Shin and Emperor He Mo. He stared at the lady for while assessing her. A thought slowly forms in his mind.
