Swordswoman: The Few Unrecorded Decades - Chapter 57
The ruckus outside of the pavilion had finally tone down. Emperor Huang Le, despite the anxiety he had felt, he managed to stay silent as he tries to calm himself. Just like what the servant implied, he did not want to disturb the sleeping Chi Emperor!
Meanwhile, inside the room where the corpse of Emperor Chi Xing and the unconscious body of Emperor He Mo laid on the floor, a soft melodic sound suddenly rings. The pitch was extremely relaxing and calming!
Cling…
Cling…
Cling…
This sound comes from Ye Shin’s pocket. When she checked her pocket, it was the bell that the priest had given to her at the Hong Capital!
Ye Shin examined the object. There was no wind or any force that would make the bell ring but still, it produced the ringing sound!
Such an abnormality!
The melody is hypnotizing and had immediately placed the elder’s soul within Ye Shin’s body into a deep slumber. Ye Shin had also gradually felt sleepy, but she must not sleep!
The situation was too dangerous for her to fall asleep! She shook her head to keep herself awake. A yawn escaped from her lips and before she knew it, her body fell on the floor. She had fallen asleep beside the body of emperor He Mo.
A solemn yet chilling kind of scene flashed upon her mind. It made every inch of her hair in the back of the neck stood straight!
Calmness is Ye Shin’s dwelling. It is where she is most comfortable. Yet the scene that had been continuously displaying in her dream made Ye Shin profusely sweat!
There is no chaotic fight but the people in front of her were all living a lifeless life! It was as if they have surrendered their will and vitality to live!
If there is far more lethal than chaos and war, it is when civilization no longer progress! War could destroy the present but some people still live to survive. However, if a nation refuses to develop and grow, it is equivalent to killing the future of humanity!
“What is happening?” Ye Shin could not help but asked herself.
Then the calamity about the prophecy of the drifting continent laid in front of her.
Priest Wan Wen, the man who had created the bell thought that the balance of how civilization started, was destroyed. But in fact, it was never the balance.
When the continent was enveloped with fire followed by the raising of the ocean and engulfed the people, it was not the balance, but the order of the balance that was destroyed!
A voice suddenly echoed to the world where Ye Shin is looking.
“Lady, thy bell shall ring at its perfect time. By that time you will witness the prophecy, you must be strong and save the people. The future of these people will depend on you. This is the path of your existence.”
Saving the people! Path of existence! It was such a vague description but Ye Shin somehow understood.
When Ye Shin woke up, several guards of Chi Empire have been surrounding her. The room was filled with people but they kept a few distances away from her. She also saw that there are two other corpses of Chi imperial guards laying on the floor.
She calmly glanced at Emperor He Mo and noticed that the man is still unconscious. Then Ye Shin realized that no soldier had dared to approach because the Spiral Sword was protecting them.
Whoever comes near, her weapon will not spare and kill! This is because the people had borne pure malice towards them that her weapon instantly manifested even if she was asleep. Although Ye Shin could not communicate to the Spiral Sword, at that moment she had felt that the weapon seems to have a life!
A consciousness that is not coming from Ye Shin but from the sword itself! But it is far possible since this sword is from the depth of her will and is only formed through her inner force.
“Surrender yourself or we will end your life!” a guard angrily exclaimed while pointing a spear in her direction.
Under the power of the Spiral Sword, these guards could not even confirm whether their emperor is still alive or not but they still maintained an overbearing attitude towards the owner of the weapon!
Ye Shin slowly stood up and turned her head at the corner where the leader of the guards is standing.
“Your emperor had made a contract with the devils.” Ye Shin announced calmly.
“What nonsense are you talking?” the leader of the guards barked loudly.
“See it for yourself.” Ye Shin stated while she kept the Spiral Sword away.
None of the guards made a move and just glared at her. They have witnessed how their two comrades who had entered the room first was killed as the Spiral Sword attacked them. Some of the guards could not help but subconsciously glance at the flesh that was even scattered on the floor.
The brutality that they had witnessed from the weapon will probably be engraved in their heart forever!
Ye Shin was not aware of their fear. She does not have any enmity of the people around her so there is no need for her to kill them.
When Ye Shin saw the trace of reluctance in their faces despite the proud persona of these guards, she slowly moved a few inches to make way for them. Finally, the leader of the guards step forward and cautiously approached Emperor Chi Xing.
Just as he is about to check the pulse of his emperor, a spatial crack appeared! He immediately stepped back as the crack gradually widened. Even Ye Shin became alert!
Everyone in the room paid attention to where a space was split open. Then a beautiful maiden emerged! The guards were automatically dumbstruck by the peerless appearance of the lady. Ye Shin also looked at the girl with admiration.
The girl possesses the appearance of a goddess!
“Hmmph! I am the future wife of this man. How dare you show interest in me!” said the girl while pointing at Emperor He Mo.
The moment this girl saw the lewd expression of the guards after her arrival, a scowl appeared on her face as she looked at them with challenging eyes!
