System Journey to Godhood - Chapter 138
Elder Lan looked at the place where the light shone. This time, it was coming from the stone monument. The light flickered for a moment before it slowly disappeared, and a new name appeared on the bottom of the monument’s surface: Snowy.
“She succeeds!” Elder Lan exclaimed in surprise, and she then recalled that they had only entered 10 breaths time ago and gasped, “She climbs so fast! How can she do it?”
Although she didn’t know how it was far in the past, in her generation the fastest time someone passed through the first floor was around one incense time or around 10 minutes. But now, the record had been broken again by Snowy.
She became the fastest challenger who passed the first floor and also the second person who engraved her name in the stone monument while her cultivation was still below the Golden Core Stage.
While she was still in shock, a group of people came over and approached her.
They were Elder Yang, Feng Xue, and the others. The only missing person was Chen Xiaoyun, who had been panicking after she saw Meng Qi suddenly appear unconscious with a battered body and quickly went to the Medical Hall to check on her.
“Aunt Lan, Is Snowy still inside?” asked Feng Xue worriedly as soon as she got near Elder Lan.
“Oh, you guys,” Elder Lan came out of shock and greeted the incoming party, “Don’t worry, I think she’s fine. She is on the second floor right now.”
“See what I told you? She’ll be okay,” Elder Yang said, “although it’ll take a bit longer, I’ll bet she will easily pass the first floor in 15 minutes or so. Just wait.”
“…”
Elder Yang still didn’t notice the expression on the other people’s faces who were looking at him strangely as he gave a glance toward the pagoda’s direction and noticed that the floor that had the light lit was a little bit higher than what he remembered.
“Uh… one, two… it seems the second floor is lit up…” He counted absentmindedly until realization struck him like a thunderclap and he exclaimed, “t-the s-second floor is lit up! She passed through the first floor so soon?!” Then he checked the names on the stone monument and let out another exclamation, “Goodness!”
Elder Lan rolled her eyes at Elder Yang and sneered, “You’re getting old, First Elder, your ears seemed not as good as before.”
Elder Yang didn’t take what she said to the heart and once again scrutinized a certain name on the stone monument, still in disbelief.
The rest of the group was as shocked as Elder Yang, Lin Ming was the first one who reacted and smiled wryly, “Junior Sister Snowy is a bit fierce, ain’t she?”
His personal time for passing the first floor was around 15 minutes at the shortest, compared to Snowy it could be considered as slow as a snail.
“That’s my Snowy, so it’s not surprising at all,” said Feng Xue proudly as if she was the one who was currently inside the Pagoda, but in her eyes, there was also a hint of determination. “I’ll catch up with her soon.” She couldn’t wait for the next Core Disciple Selection Examination since she was already eligible to join.
“She is not bad,” said Zi Ling flatly, as if she was uninterested, but a strong competitive spirit could be seen burning in her eyes.
It was a lie if she said that she didn’t feel threatened by Snowy’s talent a little bit. After all, before Snowy showed up, she was the most dazzling star in the Heaven Sword Sect with the strongest potential. Although she didn’t care much about fame and status, it was quite uncomfortable for her as the legacy disciple to be eclipsed by a new disciple of the sect.
She never thought that her talent was worse than Snowy, after all, her bloodline and physique were unfathomable. This was what she discovered after observing various geniuses and prodigies in the Eastern Region.
She seemed to have an advantage in cultivation speed and physique when compared to other people. In addition, every time her bloodline becomes stronger, there will be a phenomenon on Earth and Heaven that follows.
Although she didn’t know exactly what her background was, she realized that it wasn’t as simple as she had previously thought.
Although she was a bit behind in the comprehension aspect, she believed she was better than Snowy in cultivation speed, so it would even the field between them.
Unknowingly, Zi Ling had treated Snowy as her rival. Previously, the spot where her rival was occupied by Feng Xue. Zi Ling thought she was worthy of being her rival because she hailed from the Phoenix bloodline. But after they got close to each other, Zi Ling didn’t consider her a rival anymore, but rather a little sister she needed to protect. But now, the spot had been taken by Snowy.
“She still in the Qi Transformation stage, just like you before, Ah Ling,” Lin Ming let out a comment.
“That’s why I said she is not bad,” replied Zi Ling. “She is the second person, after me.”
“That’s true,” Lin Ming nodded and added again, while smiling teasingly, “She’s also pretty fast.”
“Well, she is still on the second floor,” Zi Ling said. She still had an advantage over Snowy since she had passed the second floor while Snowy was still on the second floor.
“You’re right.”
Suddenly, the light on the second floor dimmed and the light on the third floor lit up. The stone monument shone with a bright light before showing Snowy’s name for the second time.
“…”
“…”
“Snowy passed the second floor!” Feng Xue exclaimed happily.
“How much of her time did she spend on the second floor?” Elder Yang inquired of Elder Lan.
“Only 5 minutes.”
“Only 5 minutes?”
“Yes, only 5 minutes,” repeated Elder Lan.
“It’s the fastest clearance time for the second floor, isn’t it?”
“Yes, the previous records were held by the Sect Master in around 15 minutes.”
“And she is still in the Qi Transformation Stage, isn’t she?”
“Yes.”
“Unbelievable.”
“I also feel the same.”
Elder Lan nodded and agreed.
“Do you think she will make it to the second floor?” Elder Yang asked her.
“I don’t know. But looking at the recent trend, she might.”
“Kekeke, you’ll be soon overtaken by the younger generation.”
“I’m still young!” Elder Lan retorted while glaring at Elder Yang, and then she asked, “How long do you think before she passes the second floor?”
“I don’t know, maybe an hour or so. Sect Master needed around 45 minutes to pass the third floor previously. It was the fastest time before,” replied Elder Yang.
“I think it’ll be shorter,” Feng Xue chimed in. “Maybe under half of that time.”
“Hehe, Little Xue, you’re underestimating the difficulty of the sword pagoda. The higher the floor, the more difficulty could increase exponentially. ”
“Hehe, just wait, Master!”
15 minutes later.
The third floor lit up; Snowy’s name appeared for the third time in the Stone Monument.
“See? Snowy did it less than half the time.”
“….”
Elder Yang felt a slight pain in his cheek.
Lin Ming stared at the pagoda incredulously, “Is she a family member of the creator of the Sword Pagoda, or what? How can she climb the floor so quickly?”
Feng Xue rolled her eyes at Ling Ming and sneered, “Do you think the Sword Pagoda approves nepotism?”
“Still, what happened inside there? How can she be so fast?”
They looked at each other in confusion.
