Systemless Villain - Chapter 235 Starry Serenity in the Long Mansion
The night unfolded, with stars casting their radiant glow across the dark sky, adding to the enchantment of the serene night.
Within the main mansion, Long Tian smiled as he observed the harmonious interaction between Liu Qian and his mother in the kitchen. The approved relationship brought a soothing sense of peace, although he still pondered on the best way to introduce Li Yue’er to his mother.
Shrugging off his contemplation, he turned away and made his way into the living room.
Seated on the sofa, he retrieved a brownish, subtly glowing crystal. Examining it from different angles, he couldn’t help but appreciate its significance. Acquired during a fierce encounter with a colossal sand monster a few weeks ago, this crystal held undeniable importance as a key item in the future. It was destined to play a crucial role in the forthcoming Reiki restoration.
Long Tian carefully placed the crystal back to his spatial ring and then reached for his smartphone. Yet, after a moment’s thought, he decided to opt for the television instead.
Once the television turned on, the national channel unfolded, broadcasting the latest news about the empire.
A journalist, elegantly attired, delivered the report, stating, “… In the Jianshi forest area, elite imperial teams are gearing up to venture into the woods, leaving behind treasures for participants in the upcoming survival competition, which is less than two months away. The anticipation among participants, including students from Tianji Academy whom we interviewed earlier, is palpable as they express their enthusiasm and determination for this upcoming competition, they are all…”
Long Tian cast a disinterested glance at the news, finding little appeal in the repetitive updates about the approaching survival competition.
With his mind not occupied by such matters, he rose from his seat, opting to depart from the main mansion and wander through the expansive Long family residence.
The crisp night breeze gently caressed him, instilling a sense of peace and tranquility. The ambiance here exuded freshness and serenity.
Amidst the lush greenery, houses and structures were thoughtfully positioned.
During his stroll, he encountered a friendly Golden Retriever approaching, its tongue hanging out, tail wagging.
Instinctively, Long Tian affectionately petted the dog, “Good boy, now sit,” he instructed.
The canine promptly obeyed, demonstrating its compliance with Long Tian’s command.
A smile adorned Long Tian’s face. Internally, he mused, ‘Having a dog doesn’t seem like a bad idea.’
He continued to shower the dog with attention, reveled in the affection, its tail wagging even more energetically.
However, his solitary moment was abruptly interrupted by the sense of someone approaching.
Swiftly turning to the side, he spotted a middle-aged man making his way towards him. Sporting a warm smile, the man greeted, “Good evening, young master. It seems you’re enjoying time with my dog.”
Acknowledging Long Zeng, Long Tian stood up. “Is that your dog? What a splendid companion. What’s his name?” he inquired.
“His name is Astaroth,” Long Zeng replied.
Long Tian raised an eyebrow, casting a glance at the dog resting nearby, exuding an undeniable charm. “Are you sure you didn’t make a mistake in choosing the name?” he teased.
“Of course not. Doesn’t it suit him?” Long Zeng responded, his smile growing wider.
Returning the smile, Long Tian remarked, “Well, it’s still your call, Mr. Zeng. Alright, I’ll take a short walk, so, I’ll be going.”
Long Zeng nodded, “Take your time, young master,” he said.
Long Tian reciprocated with a nod and, without further ado, resumed his leisurely stroll.

Along the way, Long Tian met several members of the Long family, and they greeted him warmly, acknowledging his status as Long Zhan’s son and the second person in the Long family.
In this moment, suddenly, a shout came from behind, “Young master, wait!”
Turning around, Long Tian saw a robust man sprinting towards him and soon catching up.
“Your smartphone is ringing, young master,” the man said, handing over the device.
Checking the caller ID, Long Tian noted it was Guan Ji, the individual he had assigned to monitor Lin Fan.
Answering the call, a man’s voice spoke, “Young master, you finally picked up. I’ve called you more than 10 times. I even went to your villa and discovered you were unexpectedly in Beijing. Fortunately, I refrained from going there to meet you,” Guan Ji said.
“Well, I had important matters earlier. So, do you have any information?” Long Tian inquired.
“Yes, about Lin Fan. I saw him entering a store and leaving with a happy expression,” Guan Ji responded.
Long Tian appeared dissatisfied, “Isn’t it normal for someone to enter and exit a store? Did you notice anything unusual?” he asked.
“Um, I’m not sure, but he came out with a small bottle of liquid. I believe it’s herbal medicine,” Guan Ji replied.
“Alright, keep an eye on him,” Long Tian instructed.
“Okay, young master,” Guan Ji responded.
With that, the call ended.
Long Tian didn’t dwell on the matter and continued his stroll. Lin Fan wasn’t occupying his thoughts; entering an herbal medicine store was a routine occurrence and didn’t warrant his attention.
He proceeded, savoring the serene night atmosphere. Over 5000 years had passed since the Han Empire’s unification—
once six states in conflict, each with its own dynasty. Qin Shi Huang successfully melded them into one entity, known as the Qin Empire. The legacy of unity endured, evolving into the Han Empire.
Long Tian continued walking until his attention was captured by the gate in the distance. Three opulent black cars entered the Long family premises, escorted by Long family members.
And In this moment, a young man of his age, looking familiar, emerged from a nearby house. Long Tian recognized him as one of his friends, Long Jin.
“Long Jin, wait!” he called out, swiftly approaching.
Long Jin, upon hearing this, turned his gaze to Long Tian. “What’s up?” he asked.
“Do you know who’s arriving? Judging by the reception, they don’t seem to be Long family members,” Long Tian remarked.
“Oh, yeah, they’re not from the Long family. Some members of the Jun family have arrived. I came out to welcome them. Do you want to join?” Long Jun offered.
Considering this, Long Tian rubbed his chin. Eventually, he nodded, “Alright, let’s go,” he agreed.
Together, they walked towards the gate, where the three recently arrived cars awaited.
