Systemless Villain - Chapter 262: Awakening State of Martial Spirit!
“Arise!” Long Tian said, and from the ashes of Ju Yin’s body, emerged his darkened form, eyes ablaze with crimson fury, striking fear into his opponent’s heart.
Now, Lu Dan and Ju Yin, reborn as dark souls, knelt before Long Tian, who bestowed upon them his dark touch.
In the next moment, the darkness between the two dark souls intensified, engulfing them in swirling black flames.
Their transformation was profound. Their eyes glowed even brighter red, tendrils of dark aura swirling like wisps of smoke, as lightning crackled around them, transforming into sinister black bolts, more intense, more menacing!
This was something Long Tian had learned about his dark power. Since the earlier battle, he had been able to teleport with his dark soul, even over very short distances, and his affinity for darkness had increased drastically.
Meanwhile, locked in aerial combat with the black dragon, Hou Dian’s eyes widened in disbelief as he witnessed the emergence of two dark entities before Long Tian, with no sign of Ju Yin.
Fury boiled within him as he grasped the grim reality. Ju Yin had fallen and risen at the hands of Long Tian!
His rage erupted in a deafening roar, “BASTARD!” His aura surged with uncontrollable dominance, veins bulging, muscles taut with raw power.
The veins in his muscles bulged even more. His usually calm demeanor now turned into boundless anger.
With a primal snarl, he seized the black dragon’s maw, wrenching it open with brute force until it disintegrated into ash, dissipating into nothingness.
As he landed on the ground, his aura intensified to a suffocating degree. Driven by wrath and a thirst for vengeance, he exuded an aura of pure destruction.
Feeling the tattoo on his right hand had returned, Long Tian felt that he couldn’t summon his black dragon again, but on his left arm, it was still normal.
Feeling the aura intensify, Long Tian glanced over to see Hou Dian marching toward him, his demeanor fierce and resolute.
Undeterred, Long Tian advanced, with Lu Dan and Ju Yin at his side, now staunch allies in his cause.
“You killed Ju Yin?!” Hou Dian’s voice thundered with anger, his tone sharp and accusatory.
“Yes, and next it’s your turn. I’ll resurrect the trio of imperial lackeys, just for you,” Long Tian retorted, his smirk unwavering in the face of danger.
The veins on Hou Dian’s forehead bulged even more, his rage boiling over. Now, his sole desire was not the treasure, but the annihilation of Long Tian.
“I’ll kill you!” he bellowed, charging recklessly towards Long Tian.
Long Tian’s smirk persisted as he pointed towards the charging middle-aged man.
“Take care of him,” he commanded.
With a nod, Lu Dan and Ju Yin sprang into action, intercepting Hou Dian before he could reach Long Tian. Empowered by Long Tian’s dark energy, they moved with the speed of lightning, appearing before Hou Dian in an instant.
Hou Dian’s expression darkened as he realized the odds stacked against him. “So, it’s come to this,” he muttered through gritted teeth, his fists clenched in anticipation of battle.
Despite his reluctance, he unleashed a flurry of punches, targeting Lu Dan with all his might. Yet, to his astonishment, his blows struck nothing but air, and Lu Dan remained unscathed, retaliating with a swift and powerful counterattack.
BANG!
The impact echoed through the chamber with a resounding bang, sending shockwaves of black lightning coursing through Hou Dian’s body, forcing him to stagger backwards.
His grim expression hardened as Ju Yin launched an assault, his fists blazing with black fire. Though Hou Dian managed to withstand the blows, the explosions of lightning were jarring and disorienting.
A fierce two-on-one battle ensued, each strike from the dark souls accompanied by explosions of lightning and searing black flames. Hou Dian found himself increasingly overwhelmed by the relentless assault, unable to land a single blow on his undead adversaries.
———
Bang!
A thunderous strike accompanied by crackling lightning from Ju Yin struck Hou Dian square in the face, sending the middle-aged man staggering backward.
His expression darkened with intensity. Engaging in battle with these two dark entities alone was already overwhelming him, deeply bruising his pride. Yet, amidst the chaos, he began to discern their patterns and anticipate their moves.
Stepping back dozens of paces, he widened the distance, allowing himself room to execute a technique by concentrating his energy into both palms.
However, he couldn’t suppress a sneer upon seeing Long Tian lounging casually. “Do you believe these two black creatures can defeat me, so you sit idly by? How naive!” he bellowed.
Long Tian’s response was a confident grin. “Lounging around? That’s not my style,” he retorted, his aura surging stronger than ever before.
Hou Dian fell silent, sensing a significant surge in Long Tian’s power and energy since their last encounter.
His frustration and anger mounted as he realized the boy was replenishing his energy through a technique, allowing the two dark creatures to engage him while he regained his strength.
With teeth clenched in fury, he roared, “Fine then, I’ll show you hell!”
While Long Tian stood unfazed, Lu Dan and Ju Yin darted towards Hou Dian once more, their bodies engulfed in black flames. Their movements were swift as lightning, bringing them before the middle-aged man in mere seconds.
Yet, Hou Dian grinned and seemed to anticipate their arrival.
Just as they were about to strike, Hou Dian clapped his hands together, generating sparks of crimson aura that enveloped his palms in an eerie red glow.
Nevertheless, despite his defensive maneuver, Lu Dan and Ju Yin managed to land their blows.
Although the pain coursed through his body, Hou Dian remained unmoved, his smirk unwavering as he uttered, “Curse Technique: Acid Rain!”
With swift movements, he attacked Lu Dan and Ju Yin, and although his attacks pierced their darkness form, the crimson energy appeared to seep into their bodies.
Maintaining his smirk, Hou Dian stepped back a dozen paces, anticipating the effects of his technique.
It didn’t take long for the curse to take hold, causing Lu Dan and Ju Yin’s bodies to appear soft, almost melting!
The two dark souls, who had previously seemed so menacing, now appeared as though they could perish at any moment.
Observing this turn of events, Long Tian found it difficult to comprehend. The destruction of a dark soul typically required holy or dark power, the known weaknesses of such entities. Yet, it seemed he had misjudged. Hou Dian’s peculiar technique proved capable of dissolving them.
He could sense that if it persisted, his two dark souls would be completely annihilated, unable to return.
On the other hand, Hou Dian’s grin widened triumphantly. “How’s that? Ha ha ha, my technique reigns supreme!” he declared with a sinister smirk.
Long Tian’s expression soured as he flicked his finger, causing the two dark souls to vanish, dissolving into shadows.
Observing this, Hou Dian could no longer contain his arrogance. “HA HA HA HA, now where’s your pride, boy? Let’s fight like real men!” he taunted with a smirk.
Long Tian rose to his feet, his expression devoid of fear as he prepared himself. “Alright then, if that’s the case, this Flowing Qi Realm Cultivator will be the one to end you, the pinnacle of the Nascent Soul realm!”
Though it sounded like a fair challenge to a duel, Hou Dian seethed with anger. He, the pinnacle cultivator of the Nascent Soul realm, was struggling against a Flowing Qi cultivator, a blow to his pride.
Nevertheless, he took a deep breath and exhaled, appearing calmer than before as he assumed his stance.
“Come at me!” he shouted.
In response, Long Tian stood unmoved, further stoking the middle-aged man’s fury.
Hou Dian’s lips twitched, but before he could speak, sparks of electricity suddenly crackled before him. His reflexes were swift enough to widen his eyes, but not swift enough to evade Long Tian’s blow.
Bang!
The punch, coupled with a lightning explosion, landed squarely on his face, propelling him backward with such force that he crashed into the cave wall, blood spraying from his mouth.
His expression contorted in disbelief; Long Tian’s speed was absurd for a Flowing Qi realm cultivator.
Even before he could fully regain his footing, his eyes widened further as another bolt of lightning hurtled towards him, striking him once more. The ensuing explosion sent electric currents coursing through his body, causing uncontrollable tremors.
Yet, peculiar red veins spread from his body, seemingly mitigating the effects, allowing him to stand tall despite the surging electricity.
“I can’t believe I’m being cornered by a Flowing Qi realm cultivator; it seems I don’t need to hold back anymore,” he said coldly, his aura growing more menacing than before as he outstretched both hands, accompanied by the appearance of a martial spirit behind him.
Two sword-like weapons seemed to take form in his grasp, yet his eyes widened as he saw Long Tian suddenly appear before him.
Before he could react, a fist landed squarely on his face once more, accompanied by a burst of lightning. The assault continued relentlessly, with Long Tian bombarding Hou Dian with attacks too fast for the eye to follow. Each strike seemed to dissolve Ashura the Warbringer, leaving the middle-aged man sprawled on the ground.
His expression was vacant as he watched Long Tian mercilessly pummeling him, each blow accompanied by lightning and scorching black flames. Blood trickled slowly from his mouth and nose, evidence of the young man’s relentless assault.
Long Tian’s lightning attacks continued unabated, creating a spectacular display akin to a natural phenomenon as bolts of lightning repeatedly struck and exploded around Hou Dian.
In a moment of clarity, as another of Long Tian’s punches was about to land, the middle-aged man caught his hand.
“Enough!” he roared, immediately hurling Long Tian aside with a thunderous crash. His expression was unforgiving, filled only with boundless rage.
But Long Tian quickly regained his footing, standing face to face with Hou Dian.
A grin spread across Long Tian’s face as he spoke, “You didn’t really think I’d wait for you to finish transforming, did you? This isn’t some anime, dude.”
Though Long Tian’s words sounded light and casual, they pierced Hou Dian like a dagger, igniting a fury that pulsed through his veins. His face flushed with anger, his frustration palpable.
“You brat! I swear I’ll tear you apart, even after leaving this place, I’ll come to your home and kill all your kind!” he spat with rage, his red aura bursting forth strongly, instantly transforming him into a 5-meter-tall figure with dark blue skin, glowing red eyes, and black hair standing on end due to the intense aura. His muscles bulged, appearing incredibly tough. Unlike before, the transformation was lightning-fast.
Now he stood with a more menacing, more terrifying appearance, especially as he laughed with a wide grin, “I will show you the power of a martial spirit that has reached the awakening level!”
