Tales Of Mc - Chapter 20
I would love to tell you how I woke up in the morning, after meeting the Thunder King. I would love to tell you what I went and had for breakfast. Then I would begin my monologue about how I began getting along with both of Anissa’s kids, Erica and Raymond.
I would tell you all about it.

Only If I could remember it all. My memory isn’t that great with mundane things, and it betrays me now. Though I can assure you that nothing outta the ordinary occurred.
I spent three years after my arrival in the new world, in Normida. After, the first couple of days, I began to settle down well.
The city was great and despite its poor fate and ambience, the people who still lived there had smiles and hope for the future.
I trained with Anissa, a lot and began to notice a few things. As someone from another world, who was used to it, it was easier for me to get used to but for experienced people like Anissa, the absence of stats in this world due to the female heros wish, was a big time gamechanger. It took a while for her to get used to it and longer for her to gain mastery over herself again.
I learned to dodge. I mean i developed better reflexes, and a counter-based combat style. I wish to call it my foray into Jeet Kune Do, but maybe others will disagree.
My combat style was shocking to everyone who saw it in the new world. My [Fortify] gave me good defence and hence I ignored defence and focused more on offense.
But, in basic terms, my attacks were all counters and I could do a really good amount of grappling thanks to my Pro-wrestling fandom, but my grappling style wouldn’t be easily applied in a large scale battle.
But still, Anissa never took me down in close quarters combat. She told me, that I didn’t develop any lasting habits in combat and that my every move turned out to be unpredictable. She couldn’t read any patterns and was stumped how to fight me.
I trained with Raymond as well. His forte was mainly in swordsmanship, and I fought him usually by relying heavily on dodges.
His movements were sharp and accurate, and he was always developing as we fought. In the beginning, I could feel that he had some hatred of me, but it soon vanished as we had more training.
I kept on pushing his limits and his senses. He was never able to cut me due to my dodging, but on the off chance he got me, his blade couldn’t penetrate my skin thanks to [Fortify].
My body grew faster and leaner, and my movements, after countless battles, grew more refined and fluid.
Due to stats and skill systems disappearing, my [Fortify] began to become less of an external advantage, and it grew more and more like a part of me.
I subconsciously grew more defense less, and stayed any tendencies to defend myself during combat.
It grew to such and amount that, I believe that even jump scares would no longer be effective on me.
It may sound unbelievable, but I began to fell that I was losing my ability to feel fear. Though it wouldn’t affect me much, Anissa began to worry about my personality getting distorted due to this.
I found out what Anissa actually wanted me to do for her when I first met her. She asked me back then to save her and her people.
What she needed wasn’t my actual help, but rather any ideas from me that would help them.
How was I supposed to magically suggest something that would blow her mind and bring about a solution to their problems?
So I brainstormed, and thought up a ludicrous idea. When I told it to her, she looked at me like she had never ever thought about it and then began to implement my idea.
The whole thing was bonkers to me, but she began to implement it like it was her last hope.
Which brings me to today.
Today is about three years after I arrived in this new world.
A world where I’m supposed to be the Hero.
A where I would be treated like a God, and every word I say might get interpreted as gospel.
In these past three years, I trained a lot and got much better with my survival. I built a good relationship with the people of Normida. I somehow during my time sparring with Raymond, became a big enough influence for him that, he called me his rival.
I had a good friendship with Erica and learned much about this world from her.
I gained a bestie, surprisingly, in the form of Anissa, who somehow wormed her way into that position. She was a good listener and a great friend.
And during this time, I also grew closer with Indy. I suspect that she’s an actual living person rather than an A.I.
I never met the Thunder King and Queen, after our first meeting that day. Anissa told me that they were very impressed with me and that since they were people who’d seen the very first Hero, an individual like me was quite unique to them.
I don’t know if they were critiquing or complimenting me, but I took it as a positive comment. Somehow, I still had the feeling that they were only friendly with me due to my spare wish.
Anyway, all good things must come to an end. Today, my journey continues. I will be leaving Normida and journey out into one of the other countries.
The time has come for my ludicrous idea to be implemented and I bailed out of Normida before they went all in.
Anissa wanted me to stay but, I refused and departed from Normida.
You must be wondering what my idea was, right?
Simple. My idea was to create Laputa.
And Anissa went all in with it.
Today is the day Normida turns into an Island in the sky. All the magic power in the city was harnessed and a propulsion system was created, with enough power to create a floating city.
I stood far away in the desert as I watched a city rise out of the desert sand, and rise high up into the sky. The sand kept on pouring out, and it looked like a sand storm would kick up. Luckily, Anissa planned for everything and was all ready for any eventuality. The ascension of Laputa, I mean Normida, to the skies would be a matter that would remain hidden from the rest of the world. Only by entering a 500 mile radius would you be a able to even see it. When it was fully floating, only by knowing its exact position would you be able to locate Normida. And it would be floating across the skies of the world, completely camouflaged from and seeking eyes.
Slowly, but steadily it rose into the sky and went past the clouds, without raising any sound, and hid itself there.
I feel very satisfied, for no damn reason, right now. But anyway its time for me to continue my journey.
