Tales of The Mighty Dragonair - Chapter 1071 10: Soul Fire
“Hahaha, you can’t even move now, right?” The guard was absorbed in his own world, “let me hear those arrogant words once more… C’mon… Scream for me, let me hear your beautiful singing all night. I have nothing else to do but to torture you, hahaha.”
Arthur didn’t care an ounce about these words as his focus was now entirely over his dragonair energy humming and buzzing deep down his soul.
‘C’mon,’ he inwardly shouted, ‘this is fire! You always craved fire, why not come forth and eat this damned fire now!’
Arthur didn’t even forget his first steps to activate his dragonair energy. He used to light himself literally on fire to stimulate his deeply residing power.
And now he was using the same way to bring forth his sealed power.
“Tuck!”
“Tuck!”
“Tuck!”
Just as the pain was fading away and the resonance of his dragonair energy was getting fiercer, his meridians started to get broken one after another by the violent resistance of that bug.
‘C’mon… Hurry up!’ he was now extremely agitated by that bug. He hurriedly checked the spiritual energy condition. ‘It won’t last for any longer this way,’ he found it very thin and weak.
That bug resistance accelerated his spiritual energy consumption and now he was on the brink of losing it all.
‘Like this it will break free,’ he didn’t have much of a choice now. ‘I’ll give you all the aid I can,’ he closed his eyes and despite not being in the best condition or the right position, he started to inhale and exhale as regularly as he could.
‘How can this even be possible?’ As he started doing that with his body lying helplessly on the ground and that guard was savagely laughing and keeping the spear emitting the green energy, he felt a sudden gush of extremely pure spiritual energy inside his body.
‘No time to ask questions here,’ he threw away all the doubts inside his mind to the side. He started to direct this huge amount of spiritual energy towards his mind dantian first.
Like a whale returning to water, his mind dantian even trembled faintly, rejoicing this sudden gush of spiritual energy.
And that energy started to flood the dried up meridians. ‘Go… trap that bitch!’ Arthur cheered from the side while all he could do was to guide the spiritual energy to go towards his belly meridians and strengthen their hold over the bug.
He knew the best thing to do was to let this energy circulate for a couple of times first inside his body before releasing it towards the bug.
But the bug was almost about to get loose and he didn’t want to risk anything at this moment.
Just as the new spiritual energy kept the bug in check, he returned to mind his own breathing, adding more energy to his dantian and meridians.
However this didn’t last for more than a minute before that guard stopped his spear and the green fire that engulfed him was dying fast.
And with it the speed to absorb spiritual energy and the fierce resonance of his dragonair energy started to grow weaker at a terrifying rate.
“Damn you…” Arthur tried to summon all the strength he could muster at this moment, “do you call yourself a man? Forget it, even a child can hit stronger than you!”
His words made the face of the guard change for a moment before he sneered. The next moment another wave of green fire engulfed his body with an endless wave of pain.
Yet Arthur was grateful for that, as after this pain would come his golden chance to break free from this damned prison.
And the funniest thing ever was that chance was presented to him on such a silver plate on the hands of his enemy!
“Let me add something special so you can be much satisfied with my hits,” yet just before he could rejoice for this green fire, that guard took out an old looking small bottle.
It was made of dark brown wood and covered with dust as if no hand had touched it for years.
“This is a special thing I kept for my deadliest enemies… I gained it once during a big war, and the one I got it from was no one but a cursed mage.”
“No,” John didn’t hesitate to overcome his severe pain and slammed his body over the bars of his cell, “please don’t.”
“Humph… he asked for it,” the guard removed the top of the bottle before John suddenly threatened to stop him:
“If you don’t stop, I’ll make sure next month the new guard will know about this. You know he won’t hesitate and refuse such a great chance! He would crave to get a rich reward for informing your superiors about the crime of you hiding such a forbidden item!”
The guard was really stopped in track before suddenly laughing, “Then I’ll have to kill you as well, like this no one would ever know.”
And the next second he opened the small bottle and leaned it slowly and with caution over his spear where a tiny dark red droplet fell from it.
And the next moment Arthur heard a mighty roar that suddenly took over his mind and his eyes were instantly shut. His body fell on the ground helplessly while the fire surrounding him turned into a sinister pitch black one with a strange luster.
“Burn in hell till eternity you damn fool,” the guard said like he was saying his farewells to Arthur, “no one can survive the soul fire, not even those cursed mages themselves. You are royally screwed!”
And then the guard turned to John and added, “it’s your turn now” as he smiled sadistically.
Arthur was moved instantly into another world once getting touched by this strange drop. He plunged to the ground as his weak, trembling legs couldn’t hold his weight
“Where am I?” Arthur nervously questioned as he lay amidst the blanket of darkness. Arthur could feel his throat closing up as he started to panic.
