Talia Of Animalistic - Chapter 17
Two days later, Talia along with Hyena are greeting Water Tribe members as they approach Richy’s house. One of Talia’s hopes is that with other women around, Richy’s cousin Bass will stop looking at her like she’s the only glass of water in the center of a vast desert. Then Talia is being embraced by Aunt Seal, Otter and the children and introduces them to Hyena and her children as Richy and Bass approach them.
Richy hugs Talia tightly. He can smell that while she’s relieved to see him, comforted by his arms, she’s sad. He can smell Wildcat’s scent on her, but it’s weak. He can smell there’s been no sex between them. And he knows it’s selfish of him, but part of him is relieved, glad that he will have her to himself or nearly to himself a little longer.
“This must be the desert woman whose domestic man beat her and their kids,” states Bass.
“Well,” responds Hyena, “you’re not subtle.”
“This is my cousin Bass,” introduces Richy apologetically to Hyena. “It’s best just to ignore most of what comes out of his mouth; especially, when he’s in a foul mood like today. I have two guest bedrooms. We can set you and the kids up in one or you in one and the kids in the other.”
“Or there’s room for all of you in the room over the garage with us,” offers Aunt Seal.
“Actually,” Hyena looking around, “it would be kind of nice to be outside.”
Richy nods his understanding, “We can put up a tepee for you. It takes a couple of days, but you can use the tree house in the meantime.”
Hyena likes the look of the grand tree house, “That’s just fine.”
“Well come on into the house for now,” Richy invites leading the way with Talia under his arm. “you can get showers and something to eat. We’ll show ya where everything is so you don’t have to chase one of us down when you need something.”
“So Talia,” Bass can’t mind his own business, “You still refusing to fuck your other mates?”
“No,” Talia responds irritated. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com www.webnovel.com for visiting.
“Well,” Bass continues unable to leave it alone, “you sure didn’t do any fuckin’ with Wildcat.”
“Leave it be,” Richy warns Bass.
“I didn’t see him,” explains Talia.
Bass points out, “But his scent is on you.”
“I slept in his tepee,” explains Talia.
Bass grunts disgruntled, “So where was he?”
Talia shrugs, “Roar said away visiting Amazonia.”
Bass grunts again, “Seems more to it than that.”
“He was not there,” states Hyena coming to Talia’s defense because she can smell Talia is being upset by Bass’s questions. “I met many people while we were there, but not this Wildcat.”
Talia ate well which helped ease Richy’s worry about her being sad. She chose to soak in the tub instead of having a shower. She soaked until her fingers and toes were all pruney. Mating with Richy had been comforting, but as he lays there holding her, he can still smell and sense her sadness and is concerned. He’s reluctant to ask what’s wrong because she’s not volunteering information and Bass’s questions just made her more irritated. So all Richy is sure of is what’s bothering her has to do with Wildcat.
Then there’s the fact that when someone’s upset, it can be hard to smell if they’re lying. The scent of other strong emotions can mask a lie. Richy doesn’t think she would lie to him. But to Bass asking about things that aren’t his business, she might. But Richy finally ask hoping he can help or that talking about it will help, “What’s wrong, Talia?”
Talia lifts her head and looks Richy in his brown eyes. The sadness he sees in her brown eyes is heart breaking as she tells him and begins to cry, “Wildcat is shunning me.”
“No,” Richy responds in disbelief. “He would never do that. He loves you.”
“Yes he is,” says Talia through her tears. “Someone saw us coming and ran ahead to tell him and Roar we were coming and Wildcat left because I was arriving.”
“I’m sure it wasn’t because of you,” Richy tells Talia. “He just had something to do.”
Talia shakes her head, “No, he told Roar it was because of me. He’s shunning me.”
Richy’s sure it’s not what Talia believes, but he’s not sure how to comfort her. So he simply holds her as she cries softly. Rarely are free people loud criers. It’s a defense mechanism. Crying loudly in the wild could attract a predator.
Talia falls to sleep and Richy slips out of bed. He goes down to his home office and calls the fire station. He’s relieved when Cougar answers the phone.
Cougar says, “Bayberry Falls Fire and Rescue. Wendel speaking.”
“Hey Cougar, it’s Richy.”
“Hey Richy, what’s going on? You sound anxious. Is Talia alright?”
“Yeah,” answers Richy, “she’s sleeping. But she came home really upset. She says your dad is shunning her.”
“He would never do that,” states Cougar without a doubt. “He’ld never shun Talia, just simply never… Tell me exactly what she said.”
Richy shares, “I told her he would never shun her, but she’s convinced he is. She’s so sad, I didn’t press her for details. But she said Roar said he left because of her. She’s crushed.”
“I get off at noon tomorrow,” Cougar informs Richy. “I’ll talk to her when I get home. Just don’t leave her alone. Before you leave for work in the morning, tell Otter to stay with her.”
“I will,” agrees Richy.
“And Richy,” Cougar says sincerely, “take care of our girl. Give her a kiss for me.”
Richy smiles, “I will. See ya tomorrow.”
Cougar smiles too, “Later gator.”
Richy slides back into bed with Talia. She immediately snuggles into his arms. He gently brushes her lips with his for Cougar.
“I love you Richy,” Talia mumbles in her sleep.
“I love you too Talia,” he responds running a thumb gently over her cheek.
She snuggles closer and mumbles, “Good.”
