Tamer of Cosmic Beasts - Chapter 104
“I won… I won, woooohhh… I did it!”
A guy with shabby clothes started dancing all of a sudden before someone asked.
“What happened to him?”
A nearby old man in expensive clothes replied.
“He bet all he had on Abran city and won big.”
“Dang, how much did he win?”
“9 million cosmic coins.”
The old man replied, shocking the man.
“What! How can an alcoholic beggar like him win 9 million?”
“The bet was 1:1000, in favour of Patidan City. No one thought Abran could possibly win, thus everyone bet on Patidan. It seemed like an easy choice to everyone, after all. This beggar was drunk and mistakenly bet 9000 on Abran instead, haha. Talk about fool’s luck”
Haji Tea had also bet 1 million on Abran and ended up winning 1 billion cosmic coins. Haji Tea jumped in joy when Akash won, although it was less because of the money and more because Abran’s image was finally starting to improve. For the first time since its fall, Abran’s ranking was going to be raised. Earth had rankings for all the cities, and they would always be changed after every 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier city tournament. There were two kinds of rankings, one was provincial while the other was global. The provincial rankings had 1,000 spots and the global rankings had 10,000.
Abran had occupied the last rank in both categories. The top 100 were occupied by the best 1st tier cities. After winning this first round, Abran would no longer be last anymore, they would now be amongst the top 256 3rd tier cities of the Sindh Province. However, most did not share in Haji’s elation as the majority of the audience were displeased or even disgusted. Yet not everyone was like that as a few were actually happy about the rise of Abran even though they could only be counted on two hands.
<Abran City>
Following the victory, Abran’s residents were celebrating with songs, poems and slogans. All 100,000 of them who had lost hope, came out of their houses with high spirits, ready face the day’s challenges with renewed vigour.
“We have finally won!”
“Our city will rise, thank goodness!”
“I can’t *sobs* believe it…”
“It’s all thanks to the Tea family!”
“All hail the Tea family, all hail Ancestor Law Enforcement!”
The commoners of Abran expressed their joy, some even shed tears of happiness, others drank alcohol till they collapsed and several of them were so busy dancing that they forgot everything else in that moment.
Two old men were sitting on two chairs, one of which was Baghi Tea with a thick pointy moustache and the other was Zaheer Seth with a long beard. The former was smiling as he was leaning on his rocking chair and enjoying the show. Zaheer, on the other hand, was covering his face, as tears were falling.
“After all these years, it’s finally our time to rise.”
Zaheer uttered while sobbing.
“Control yourself, old fart. I also want to weep in happiness, but we haven’t won just yet. I’ll cry my heart out once we have won this tournament, till then control yourself.”
Baghi replied with his eyes closed, smiling ear to ear. Zaheer wiped his tears and agreed.
“Yeah, you are right.”
Baghi Tea opened his inventory and looked at his glaive while glancing at Zaheer with a side-eye.
“Keep crying for a few more minutes and your ugliness will breakthrough into new realms.”
He teased him.
“Fuck off, old fool.”
Zaheer retorted.
<Slave City>
After the fight’s conclusion, the referee came back to the octagon and announced the next participants. Meanwhile, Akash calmly watched from his room, he hadn’t left his room, instead opting to watch the remaining fights here. This was a perfect place for geniuses from less fortunate backgrounds to gather.
He was looking at the next fight, a battle between Fojipor City and Rosehill City. The applause was loud for the city of Fojipor as they were a famous 3rd tier city. They had finished among the top 8 cities in the previous 3rd tier tournament. On the other hand, their opponent was an unknown city. Usually most of these smaller and lesser-known cities weren’t even announced, Abran was an exception due to their past history.
Akash took a glance at every tamer from Fojipor city, checking all their profiles. All 5 of them were 5th Star tamers and 3 of them even had a high-grade aptitude while the remaining two merely had a common grade one. Impressed by them, he turned his eyes to the side of Rosehill.
There were only two people there, one was a 1.6-meter-tall man of the 4th Star realm. The second was a 3rd Star realm tall young girl, wearing a full sleeve dress. Her face and neck showed her tanned skin with hints of olive and her figure was perfectly curvy with less pronounced breasts. She was not as beautiful as Rukh Haseen, but there was still something about her that attracted Akash. He had never felt such a sensation from any other woman, his primal instincts were beginning to kick in. Puzzled as to why, he checked her profile.
[Name: Mehak Pitafi
Upon seeing that name, he immediately stopped.
“Pitafi… Where have I heard that name?”
Suddenly, Akash’s eyes widened, quickly rising from his chair, and rushing out.
“How is this possible? What is the Pitafi clan doing on this planet?”
Akash asked himself as he looked at Mehak Pitafi again and read her profile.
[Name: Mehak Pitafi
Realm: 2nd Moon, 3rd Star
Aptitude: Upper-Legendary Grade
Learnt Laws: Martial Law
Inborn Laws: Summoning Law (Awakened), Blood Law (Awakened)
Race: Onliest Hybrid of the Ancient Elf clan and the Archaic Demon Knight clan]
Akash was shocked to his core. He had only known of these clans from old scrolls and legends. They were the elite troops of their races before they were lost to the figments of time.
“I remember historians sayinbg they existed no more, so how can there be one of them on this planet, especially one who is a hybrid?”
Akash questioned himself again. The ancient elf clan was a famous off shoot of elves. It was written that they could understand the language of beasts and their cosmic powers made them absolute masters of the Summoning Law with peerless control.
A tamer could normally only have 1 beast for every 2 realms they had achieved, yet even a mediocre tamer with the Summoning Law could double that, increasing their beast capacity by 1 every single realm. Some experts could even have 2 beasts per realm, but the tamers of the ancient elf clan were different. Even a mediocre one could tame 3 beasts per realm, making them dangerous beyond compare. Unfortunately, it was written in the scrolls that they were eventually annihilated by their Elf King, who feared their power.
The archaic demon knight clan was similar as well, however, they instead specialized in the Blood Law. Their unparalleled control over it constantly astonished their opponents, often leading to them being slaughtered and they weren’t purely offensive as they were masters of the blood healing arts as well. Unlike the ancient elf clan, nobody knew the reason why this clan vanished from history.
Throughout history, these two monstrous clans had never actually fought each other due their planets being separated by thousands of light-years. For them to fight each other, they would have needed gigantic spaceships to cross that distance. Historians always debated on who would prevail if a war somehow erupted between these two enigmatic clans.
“How and when could they have possibly mated?”
Akash was filled with questions as his heart beat faster while looking at Mehak Pitafi.
“Now I understand… It wasn’t her physical appearance that agitated me, rather it was her pure bloodline.”
Then, he felt something in his inventory before quickly checking. It was the staff made by the Blood Dragon King, Zidiro Subedar. Akash squinted his eyes, wondering about this strange reaction as a familiar voice came.
“O King, please bestow me the person in front of you as my master. She’s the only one that can fully utilize me to my utmost.”
The voice of Zidiro resounded in his mind, he had already chosen his own master. Akash quickly sent a message to Haji Tea via the System.
[Earl Haji, do you know the mayor of the Rosehill City?]
Haji Tea was counting his earned money in the betting office near the stadium with a wide grin. Then, suddenly…
*beep*
The beeping sound of the System took his attention, causing him to quickly read the message before replying.
[No, My Liege. What happened?]
[Earl Haji, I need this girl no matter what. Do whatever you can and make her join the Ancestor Law Enforcement.]
Akash urgently told him. Following which, Haji Tea wrapped the money and tossed it into his inventory before flying towards Akash Tagar, reaching him in mere minutes.
“Which girl, My Liege?”
Haji asked while bowing to Akash, who pointed his finger towards Mehak Pitafi.
“That girl.”
Haji furrowed his brows.
“My Liege, she doesn’t look particularly impressive to me.”
“Not her looks, dimwit. Check her profile.”
Akash retorted and Haji laughed as he checked her profile, his smile quickly turning grim.
.
“What in the mother of the cosmos is she?”
He looked at Akash and stated.
“Leave it to me, My Liege. I’ll find their mayor.”
