Taming my Monster Girl Harem from Scratch - Chapter 430 Letting Loose (4)
Chapter 430 Letting Loose (4)
?Although Igni had lost most of her defining features, she was still a dragon through and through. In short, Igni supposedly has air superiority!
*FWOOOOSH!*
Igni cut through the warm air, heading to the closest ghost-like demon, and grabbed it with her gigantic, flaming claws. Igni’s movement was so fast that the demon wasn’t able to dodge at all!
*SIZZLE!*
In just a few moments, the demon’s body started to lose its shape before slowly dissipating away.
One might be skeptical at the scene since a “ghost” isn’t supposed to have a physical body, but the flames that Igni was using were none other than her signature flames, the [Ignis Faatus]! Flames that can burn the soul directly!
Without even looking at the essence crystal that fell, she quickly moved to her next target. Like a shooting star, Igni became a red streak across the sky as she cleaned up the demons one after another.
One after another, the demons fell to Igni’s assault. Within minutes, the sky returned to its clear state from before, with not a single demon present.
“Phew…”
Igni sighed as she descended, landing in the middle of the ground that had hardened over once more. It was still releasing quite a bit of heat, but to Igni, it wasn’t even worth mentioning.
“Now then… time to wait for the next wave…”
Igni could continue onward, but going too deep into the enemy lines could be dangerous. After all, her position was the one closest to the Void Beast that was slowly approaching!
If she ended up encountering it alone, then her life would be in danger.
So instead of being aggressive, Igni just stood in her current position, waiting until the army of demons reached her once again.
Someone was watching as Igni was standing idly, about a dozen kilometers away, on top of the southern wall. It was none other than Zeshion and Alpha. The two were looking toward Igni with indescribable faces.
“Alpha, what do you think?”
“Do you even need to ask? She’s more powerful than even me now, judging from how she’s handling the god-level demons like children.”
The two of them had watched Igni’s battle from start to finish, and they only had one thing to say. She’s too overpowered for someone only at the 9th stage!
“Furthermore, I could feel some familiarity with her domain. It didn’t seem like flames are its main property at all.”
“…”
Zeshion scratched his head as she listened to Alpha’s analysis. As the oldest tamed monster that Zeshion had and also the first one to reach god-level, her guesses were accurate 99% of the time.
After a while, Alpha sighed before shrugging her shoulders.
“It makes me feel cheated. If I knew there’s a method of strengthening your monsters beyond the normal limit, then I might’ve suggested that you claim it first.”
Zeshion, hearing her short complaint, couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Right… I asked Will about it before, and guess what? It’s a side effect of one of his skills. Something called the Flames of Evolution.”
“Is that so? Then, did you ask him to teach it to you?”
Curious, Alpha turned to him and asked. Her eyes shone with curiosity. However, Zeshion shrugged his shoulders, answering in the negative.
“I tried, but it’s not something I can master within a year or two. It’s some special technique that uses a person’s soul’s karmic properties to tamper with causality, so it’s not something I can put my hands on willy-nilly.”
“Tampering with causality again…!”
Alpha facepalmed, realizing that part of why Will’s fate was so messed up must be related to that. However, it’s too late for them to interfere anyway.
She could only stare at the sky and pray that nothing much worse happened due to Will’s “unluckiness.”
“Anyway, aren’t we going to help that girl?”
Zeshion finally couldn’t help but ask, forcing Alpha out of her trance. She turned to him and sighed one last time.
“Right now, we should let her handle the frontline herself. It’s not our time yet…”
Alpha’s eyes looked toward the furthest end of the horizon as if looking at something that had yet to come within visible range.
“When the time comes…”
A hint of sadness crossed her face as she whispered lightly to the wind.
—
On the southwest battlefront, two figures were standing in the middle of a swarm of demons.
“Can we really handle this? We’re just 9th-stage right now, and the enemies are god-level…”
As if losing heart, one of them, Minerva, muttered in a low voice, as if afraid that the demons nearby would notice her if she raised her voice even a little.
Hekate smiled at her sister, who’s usually outgoing and brave when with everyone else. However, that was nothing but a brave front she was putting on. One that would fade as soon as she’s left alone with Hekate.
“Sister, don’t worry. Will said that we’d be fine, so we’ll be fine. Or is it that you doubt our master’s words?”
“…”
Minerva quickly shook her head, her expression shifting from being scared to a firm one. Right, it wasn’t that she was doubting Will’s word; it was more like she was doubting her abilities.
The two of them did reach the 9th stage and even properly activated their domains, but they’re still so new to their current rank that they’re not confident about fighting to the best of their capabilities.
Hekate smiled, nodding her head toward Minerva and reassuring her.
“Just follow my command, and we’ll be sure to sweep these trashes off their feet!”
“Alright!”
After the pep talk was over, Hekate took out her whip as she stood up, leaving their hiding spot. They were literally in the middle of the demon swarm, but not a single demon was paying them any attention.
“The isolation field is working properly. I’ll be casting my domain now, so you should simply enclose the demons in psychic energy and destroy them!”
*FWIP!* *SNAP!*
Hekate let the whip in her hand slap the ground, creating a crisp sound that gathered all the demons’ attention instantly.
Everyone that was within viewing distance turned to face Hekate, staring at her blankly for a moment before they started to return to their senses and roared loudly as they attacked.
“[Fleeting Dream’s Embrace]!” The initial posting of this chapter occurred via N0v3l.B1(j)n.
However, they were a step too late. Hekate activated her domain as a glittery, silver light flashed once, reaching as far as the eyes could see. All the demons that saw the flash directly stood in place, as if their souls were pulled out, and stopped moving.
“Now!”
With a crisp shout, Hekate called for Minerva, the one to deliver the finishing blow.
“[Crystal Prison]!”
And in one swift motion, all the demons that were caught in Hekate’s domain were enclosed in a semi-transparent blue “cage.”
Before the demons could return to their senses, the cages suddenly shattered… together with the demons enclosed within.
Seeing the clean execution, not leaving even a shard of the enemies behind, Hekate smiled as she turned to Minerva.
“See? Easy.”
