Taming The General’s Daughter - Chapter 9 His Family
Yohan requested some time off to see his family in the Empire. The Lim household was one of the prominent households in the entire imperial and hold great importance in all sectors in the government.
Yohan was born in the farthest branch of Lim’s. His parents were ordinary except for his father that was a proud member of the family. He was the youngest of the eight siblings but he was not the one who was doted by his grandfather. In the contrary, he was the loathed one.
His father, was a military man but he was not an outstanding officer and did not retire with flying colors. He was rather forced by his higher ups to retire early due to various reasons, as the say.
Yohan was the only male in their small family because his mother was more dominant than his father. Thus, he was born in the last and before him was his five elder sisters which one hell of a force.
He was forced to enter in the service by his father but he fell inlove with it. He upheld his occupation more than anyone in the family aside from his own father.
Their small family lived in a town next to the Empire’s capital. He drove towards his home with a heavy heart. As much as he wanted to, he did not want to step into their house because it could only mean, C-H-A-O-S.
As Yohan neared his home, he had that urge to turn back before it will be too late.
Yohan parked his car outside their house. It was a simple and traditional house that’s often found in the city. It’s just that, their home was covered with brick walls and landscapes. It was the most simplest house the Lim household gifted to his father when he married his mother.
He got out from his car and then he found out that he was being carried by her elder sisters towards their home.
While at it, he could not complain, even though he found it annoying. Instead, he began asking the women who carried her.
“How’s grandfather?” his tone carried a slight worry in it but instead of answering him, the women who dragged him to the inside did not utter any single word and he found it alarming.
“Hey! Agatha! Hows grandfather?” he asked the woman who is slightly plump and had a beautiful face on th right. But then again, she did not answer him as they dragged him forcefully.
Now, he found it odd.
“Carmina! You answer me!” but then his other sister did not answer him but only matched her elder sister on marching as they continually dragged him to the inside.
They halted on the living room as they unceremoniously dropped Yohan to the ground and made a military salute to the old man who was actually sitting like an emperor in the head seat.
As his eyes landed on the man, he gulped down a mouthful of saliva before he abruptly stood up and made a salute to the man.
The man had made a piercing gaze towards him and eyed him head to foot but he dared not to voice out his dissatisfaction towards the man.
The man is in his forties but he had a beautiful build like those military men in the 80’s and it’s a wonder how he maintained such physic in this age.
“Stand at ease!” the man shouted at him before he let his hands down and dared not to look at his own father’s face.
He switched his face into more relaxing stance while facing his own father. The man looked at him with his piercing eyes, devoid of any warmth like a father have. His face had seemed suffered facial paralysis because he did not have smiled after seeing his son that was away for 16 years.
“Report.” the man said like a commanding general. He did not raise Yohan to be such a sentimental and weakling like a woman and even women can toughen up like a man with the intense training he had.
“Sir yes sir!” as he recounted his near death experiences in Iraq but he left out the information about his new job.
“What are you doing Bernard?” a woman’s voice rang behind him and it actually made him shiver with fear.
