Tell Me Again My Love - Chapter 591
Ryn smiled when she noticed him.
“Is it lunch?” she asked cheerfully as she stood up.
Jacob gulped as he looked at his boss nervously. Uh oh… He’s doomed. Was he too close to Miss Catherine until his boss gave him that warning stare?
Oh no… What should he do? Was he going to be fired today?
Unaware of the awkwardness in the air, Ryn grabbed her backpack and went to her boyfriend. She was hungry anyway so even if it was not the time for lunch yet, she still wanted to have a meal.
“I’m hungry. Can we go somewhere close by? I don’t think my stomach can hold it anymore,” she said shamelessly. She had a busy morning and did not eat anything but the breakfast the helpers brought from the mansion.
Jeremy was distracted by Ryn’s words that he forgot to punish Jacob for ‘stealing’ her attention again.
The couple left the office hand in hand.
Jacob blew out a relieved sigh. He was so scared just now until he felt like he would lose control of his bladder. His boss was so scary.
Jeremy pressed the buŧŧon to go downstairs. He looked as she rubbed her stomach unhappily.
“What do you want to eat?” he asked.
“Carbohydrate. Rice,” she answered without thinking. She needed all the energy to survive until tonight.
“The one we always go?” he suggested.
She frowned when she remembered the restaurant they frequently go-to for a meal. She calculated the time they would take to arrive in this heavy traffic. Then she shook her head.
“How about the restaurant just across the street? I’m starving.”
She spent the time they were in the elevator to change his mind and once the door opened, both of them walked toward the huge sliding door. She was smiling as she squeezed his hand happily while he just chuckled to see the smile on her face.
Anything for her.
He held her hand as both crossed the busy road. They ignored the look from those who recognized Jeremy as a singer as well as the big boss of the company.
The restaurant has no door so the couple simply entered it and looked for an empty table.
They found one but the waiter hasn’t managed to wipe it clean yet.
“I feel like we’re back to our school year,” Ryn giggled.
It had been years for them to go to this kind of shop. Well, actually Ryn was the one who introduced the siblings for this kind of restaurant. They have never gone to one that has no Micchiline star or somewhere unique, chic and hɨps.
He looked at the dirty table with his lips pursed a bit. He looked at her but she did not seem uncomfortable at all. Instead, she waved her hand at the helper and asked the teenage boy to clean the table.
“Stop with that look. I bet the food here is good. Can’t you see how many customers they have?” she pinched his cheek playfully.
“Can we have two of those roasted chicken rice? And an iced coffee for me. What do you want?” Ryn asked Jeremy.
“Just a plate of roasted chicken and a hot coffee for me.” Although he did not like to eat in such a small and stuffy shop, he was hungry too and he knew Ryn would not agree if he suggested going to another restaurant for his meal after this.
The waiter blinked his eyes a few times. So the two plates of rice were for the woman? Or were they waiting for another person to have a meal with?
“Is there anything else?” Ryn asked with a smile when she noticed the waiter still standing beside them.
Jeremy turned to look at the boy and ċȯċked an eyebrow. Was this boy trying to woo his Ryn right in front of him? He dared?
“J, stop scaring him,” Ryn said when the boy left them. “He must be new to this or he just recognizes you and is too starstruck.”
He hmphed unhappily but did not continue his glare.
“Here, let us take a picture together and send it to Mika,” Ryn suggested. She tried to distract Jeremy so he would no longer mind having their meal here. Besides, what was wrong with having a meal here? By looking at how busy the shop was, she bet this place serves delicious food at a cheaper price than what Jeremy used to pay. Besides, if this place is suitable for her palate, she decided to keep having her lunch here whenever she came to the office.
The waiter brought their drinks first. He went to a counter and carried three plates of roasted chicken rice. He arranged them neatly and like another waiter who did not know how big Ryn’s appetite was, placed one of the sets to the empty seat, thinking that their friend would arrive soon. He did not question why the couple only ordered two drinks for three sets of food. He thought the friend who would arrive would order the drink once he arrives.
Their big boss actually wiped the utensil for another woman? The devil actually turned into a… A loving man?
They have long dismissed his persona as a singer once they received the glare and temper from him. Only Lily who was still blind to think what she saw on the television (Jeremy the singer) was the same as in the office.
“Is the chilli too spicy for you?” Jeremy asked.
She shook her head. So far she was liking what she tasted. She ate more happily and even accepted the chicken meat from him. Being a besotted boyfriend, he naturally took care of all the vegetables in both of plates. He placed them into his own and even carefully separated the meat from the bone before he handed it to Ryn.
“Do you want more drink?” he asked when he noticed her glass was empty except for the ice cubes.
“More coffee please,” she asked.
“No more caffeine for you. I’ll order juice?”
“No.”
Jeremy called for the waiter and told him to bring a bottle of mineral water.
“J~” she ġrȯȧnėd.
“Behave. You’ve drunk too much caffeine and cannot drink more,” he coaxed.
She narrowed her eyes but no longer argue with him. Instead, she took his cup of coffee and poured it into her glass.
A glass of iced coffee is done.
“Catherine,” he sighed heavily when she brought the glass away from him.
“You drink your mineral water while I drink my coffee,” she said winningly.
“Fine. You win. But this is the last one. No more caffeine for you, my love,” he reminded as he wiggled his finger.
“Fine.”
