Tell Me Again My Love - Chapter 592
Jeremy paid for the meal while Ryn waited outside. When he was done, he took her hand and both crossed the road.
Even though there were so many people waiting at the elevator when they saw Jeremy, they quickly gave way for him to use it first, forgetting that Jeremy actually has a special lift for him as the big boss. They greeted him and Ryn politely. Those who did not recognize Ryn also greeted her just because she was being held by Jeremy openly and she even wore a working ID.
The couple reached the top floor and walked straight into Jeremy’s office.
Jeremy pulled her to sit on the sofa, still holding her close.
“Are you going to stay here until 6?” he asked.
“No. I need to leave later. I have a show tonight,” she replied. She checked the time and decided she still have a few more minutes with him before she must leave.
“Do you want me to send you or the driver?” he asked.
“I can-”
“Either I drive you or the driver,” he gave her a look. He would not accept any other answer than the choice he gave.
She gave a puppy-eyed look at him, trying to melt his heart.
His reaction?
He squeezed her cheeks and her nose before he kissed her lips.
“You…”
“Please,” she blinked her eyes adoringly.
“The driver or me. I give you choices so you can pick either of us,” he started seriously. He would not allow her to leave alone when he could be her driver. And he also trusted his driver. Only his driver or himself could make sure of her safety.
“J-” Why was he being difficult? She could take a cab to go home. She did not want to disturb him from his work. She also did not want to use the family’s driver when she was not one of the Longs.
“Choose or you can’t go,” he said firmly.
She pinched between her brows as she tried to control her temper. He was starting to drive her crazy with his worry.
What next? Would he stop her from driving her car?
“Jeremy, stop being difficult, please. You have a very short time before we have to leave for the concert. You should focus on finishing your work and I am doing the same, completing all my jobs before the tour,” she sighed heavily. She tried to make him understand why she did not want to choose both.
He crossed his arms and ċȯċked an eyebrow. He would not change his mind. Until he was sure of her being safe, he would not stay calm. She was everything for him.
“Fine. You can send me home. We can use the time to discuss the meetings I will help you during the tour,” she said finally.
He smiled willingly after he kissed her forehead gently. “Remember, all I care about is your safety.”
She rolled her eyes and murmured, “Childish.”
He pinched her nose again playfully.
“Let’s go. I need to take a shower before I leave for the show,” she stood up. As he would bring her back, there was no point for them to stay in the office any longer.
“I’ll get my key,” he said as he went to his table to open the top drawer and took the key. “Let’s go.”
They used the special elevator again to go down after Jeremy informed Jacob he was sending Ryn home.
He helped her with the safety belt before he started the engine. He drove the car once he was satisfied with the temperature and the music.
She crossed her arms and pursed her lips. She refused to look at him or she would get mad for this silly… Reason. She did not understand why was he so paranoid all of the sudden.
She is an ȧduŀt who is used to flying to so many countries alone to do her jobs. She could manage to do everything by herself.
But it seemed like he has forgotten that fact when he thought either he or his driver the only ones who could keep her safe.
But she was giving him a cold shoulder.
He did not like this at all. He would prefer her to scold him than treat him as if he was air.
“Fine. I’m sorry,” he said finally. He could no longer stand in this tense atmosphere.
She looked at him, ċȯċking an eyebrow.
“I’m worried about your safety, love. While crossing the road I have the thought what if you’ve been kidnapped by a kidnapper? Last time you’re safe but my love, you don’t have any martial art skill. You don’t know how to fight. What if next time the kidnapper use a gun or hurt you? I can’t lose you again,” he explained.
She frowned. He had that elaborate thought just when they were crossing the road? It did not take long for them from the restaurant to the office but he actually thought that much. Sigh. He should just become a drama writer or something with his silly idea.
“Ryn, can you understand my worry?” he asked.
“You’re just being silly. After what happened last time, didn’t I improve my method when I take a taxi? I always take a picture of the taxi, the plat and the driver’s face and send them to Mei Li. If I didn’t arrive on time, she will call me first and if she cannot be through me, all the photos will go straight to the police. So don’t worry.”
“But I…”
She put a hand on his ŀȧp to calm him down. “Don’t worry. I always take care of my safety very seriously.”
He gripped the steering firmly. He understood her but at the same time, it was hard for him right now to let go of his worry.
“Even if one day we get married, I don’t want you to think that I cannot drive a car myself and need a driver to bring me around. I am not that fragile. Even Mika can drive her car however she wants,” Ryn pointed out dryly.
He did not speak for a while. He did have the thought of ȧssigning a driver for her once their engagement was official. But with her already saying that, does this mean he has to cancel his plan?
She sank her upper teeth to her bottom lip, wondering how their conversation ended this way. Does this mean they’re heading toward another quarrel over a silly reason… Again?
“You know what? I don’t want to argue with you. Let’s just agree to disagree. I’m taking a nap,” she said finally and quickly adjusted her seating so she could be more comfortable. Then, she closed her eyes.
It was better to sleep than to argue with him.
He glanced at her silently. He was not satisfied with the way she ended their conversation. It did not seem that they have reached any decision. But he could not do anything when she already sleeping.
He sighed heavily.
