Tell Me Again My Love - Chapter 593
“We’re here, Miss,” the driver announced as he looked through the mirror to look at Ryn.
“Thank you,” Ryn said as she took her backpack and opened the door before the driver could open the door for her. “You can tell him you’ve sent me safely.”
“As you wish,” the driver said. He waited until she went into the house before he drove the car away.
Ryn locked the door with a heavy sigh. Even though she did not want to disturb the driver from his work but she wanted to ‘run’ from Jeremy. She saw that Jeremy still wanted to ‘discuss’ about that but she did not want so they would not end up arguing. She hated it when they argued. She hated the feeling of helplessness and hurt. She did not want to experience it again and again.
It took her almost five minutes to calm down. She shook her head to stop thinking about it and walked into the closet to put her backpack away. Then, she went into the bathroom to wash the makeup off her face and the hair product off her hair.
She quickly dried her hair with the hairdryer before she jumped onto the bed. Before she let herself sleep, she set her alarm. She planned to have a short nap before she drove to the event.
It was a very short nap. Just two hours.
Her hand smashed the alarm to quiet the ringing. She sat up with bleary eyes and started at the wall.
“Oh, God…” she ġrȯȧnėd as she rubbed her face sleepily. She buried her face on the pillow as she tried to steal several minutes for a nap.
It took her half an hour to get ready. She checked her backpack and took out whatever she did not think she need. She included a new pack of tissue and wet tissue. She did not bring her wallet, just her mobile phone and ID. She did not bring any money at all.
She checked herself in the mirror before going to grab a bottle of water. She was still full from the lunch she had earlier so she did not have any plan to eat yet. But maybe she would eat after the event.
At the thought of eating after the event, she realized that she needed to bring some money to pay for her food.
She returned to the closet to get some money from her wallet and slipped them into one of the pockets in her backpack. She still did not bring her wallet along.
She grabbed her car key once she was satisfied with everything she carried. She slipped the water bottle into the side pocket of the backpack and walked to the door.
She drove the car carefully toward the hotel where the event would be held. It was funny when she thought about it again.
She looked for an empty parking lot in the basement after taking a ticket. She found one just across the elevator. She grabbed her backpack and took the elevator to the hall where the event would be. She went straight to backstage to meet the others. She exchanged air kisses with them before she sat on a chair for makeup and hairstyle. She took out her phone and sent a text to Mei Li to inform the manager that she has arrived.
It was chaotic backstage but Ryn was already in her nap mood as she closed her eyes while the makeup artist and hairstylist were busy prepping her up.
She woke up when they were done. She thanked both of them before she rushed to change into her dress and shoes.
She was the one who was going to open the show so once everything was done, she waited for her turn.
She put on her model look and walked along the runway once she received the signal from the floor manager.
It was almost midnight when she prepared to go home. Her stomach was already growling in hunger.
She said goodbyes to everyone and even that took time because some of them wanted to take pictures with her.
With the traffic so clear, it did not take her long to reach the drive-through of the fast-food restaurant.
She ordered double the portion, thinking that if she took the usual portions, she was had to wait longer to digest the food before she could go to sleep. She was too sleepy to wait longer.
When she reached home, she was surprised to see another car was parked there. She recognized the car. It was Jeremy’s.
What was he doing here at this time?
She went into the house with her backpack and her food. She looked around but there was no one in the kitchen or the living room.
“Jeremy?” she called as she went to look for him in the bedroom. Just a feeling that she would find him there.
Just as she expected, she found him in the bedroom. She crossed her arms and ċȯċked an eyebrow as she leaned against the wall.
“Welcome home,” he greeted cheekily as he made exaggerated movements to push off the blanket off him. He was bȧrė-chested so it would not be a shock if he was bȧrė down there as well.
“You’re not nȧkėd so stop pretending,” she scowled. She turned to walk back to the kitchen. She was too starving to entertain his silly striptease.
She took out her purchase and put them on two plates. Burgers on one plate and the French fries on another plate. She replaced the drink from the paper containers with proper glasses.
“You should see me,” Jeremy said while he watched her. When he realized she did not want to see his ‘show’ and walked away, he quickly jumped onto his feet and followed behind her.
“I’ve seen you,” she replied. She carried both plates to the dining table. He carried both glasses to the dining table, following behind her.
“Why are you here this late?” she asked when he took the seat in front of her.
“Why can’t I?” he asked her back.
She opened her mouth to answer but decided not to. She shook her head and took a burger. She unwrapped it and started to chew the burger slowly. It was better to eat than talk. She did not want to lose her appetite when the conversation went bad.. She was too starving to skip any meal.
