Terrarium Adventure - Chapter 47
I woke up from the sound of falling stones.
There were piles of diamonds in the place where the giant worm-shaped fire was. It was sorrowful to think that all of those were from the victims in this terrarium.
Right, the fire had swallowed this terrarium entirely.
Unlike me, Elder’s full attention was lost to the piles of diamonds. He would go crazy if he found out about the number of diamonds I spent to revive the branches of the World Tree. I need to keep it a secret for his mental health.
And those piles. It’s a ridiculously small amount compared to the diamonds I have, but there would be a backlash if I gave it away to Seedling. I should claim ownership.
The battle that seemed difficult ended in vain due to the blessing of the World Tree, and the quest I received from the 26th terrarium was finally over.
Now, I just have to report back, and I should be done with the quest. It was awful for a first quest. Still… it was fun. Looking back, I learned a lot and gained a lot.
“We meet again. I managed to live, thanks to your Elder Flower. Just a few minutes ago, I was seeing hallucinations of my people waving their hands on the other side of the World Tree. I really thought I was dying. How did the branch of the World Tree, that was thought to be dead, revive again? Do you know?”
Belladonna spoke while approaching me. It wouldn’t be weird for her to turn her attention to the piles of diamonds like Elder, but she came directly to me.
Even though everything turned out well, I was slightly annoyed since it was Seedling’s dryad, who made me break the connection with my dryads.
Yes, it’s only okay because it turned out well! I wanted to say something, but my anger had diluted a lot, and I didn’t want to curse them out like how I wanted to in the beginning.
“Yeah… I’m not sure.”
Still, I didn’t want to put effort into sounding courteous to them. I didn’t even want to make eye contact, so I tapped on the screen of my phone instead. I pushed the Stonehenge mode to the side and the screen appeared.
Guys, let’s do some counting. How much did you use? The number of diamonds is still going down. Wow, this tree is really taking all of my money.
The dwarves were divided into two groups. One was pouring diamonds into the fountain, and the other was filling carts with diamonds from the mine. The diamond value recovered when I touched the cart but soon fell down again.
The dwarves won’t bug me about using diamonds for a while, I guess.
“I’m so glad that you and your dryads are safe. Normally, my master wouldn’t blindly jump into a battle like this. Seedling saw your Daisy dryad alone and decided that you were in trouble since dryads don’t leave their druid’s side.”
Your owner really should mind his own business. I know he had good intentions, but what if I couldn’t revive the branches of the World Tree? I wouldn’t be sane if my dryads had serious injuries.
“In addition to the branch of the World Tree being restored, I can feel a foreign power. This… yes! It feels like a druid declaring their realm! Although I can’t determine where exactly it is. You must be the owner of it, right? The more I learn about you, the more I realize how great you are! Just like when you made it rain diamonds. What kind of force is this? We have seen countless druids, but you’re the first one to be like this!”
Rosewood snuck up and started chatting. His face had a reddish color, reminding me of how excited he was, and his voice trembled even though he tried to remain calm. The tone of his voice also fluctuated a lot.
I was happy about their compliments, but still felt kind of annoyed. Anyway, Mesquite said similar things to what Rosewood just said. Did I unconsciously extract the power of my terrarium artifacts? I really have no idea.
“She doesn’t look happy… It’s probably because we acted hastily… and separated her dryads from her…”
Mellow added on from a distance. At his words, Belladonna sighed and said, “of course…” Soon after, Seedling, who was staring this way with burning eyes, strode over.
However, unlike the force with which he came with, he kept his mouth shut. He looks like he has a lot to say, which is unusual.
Of course, he acted out of ignorance of my situation, so I didn’t need an apology. I honestly didn’t want one, either. I thought he was going to say something annoying, like, “you came all the way to 28th terrarium without any fear?”
“What are you looking at?”
If you don’t have anything to say, get out of here. I shot at him with a question that abbreviated my thoughts. For some reason, Seedling’s eyes became darker. Rosewood anxiously looked at me, then back at Seedling. Seeing his mouth flickering, it looks like he’s trying to say something.
Beep.
I suddenly heard a notification sound from my phone. Why all of a sudden?
On the screen, there was a familiar letter envelope.
Is the quest completed already? The envelope didn’t have a sealing wax on it, which was unusual. I touched it anyway.
Information on the transfer of administrative authority of the 28th terrarium of the World Tree
Druid Name: Jay
Due to the absence of the administrative officer position and the high stake in the terrarium, this druid was appointed as the temporary administrative officer of the 28th terrarium.
The 28th terrarium is temporarily attached to the druid’s terrarium artifact.
The druid’s wallet will manage all administration of the terrarium until a new orchard manager and the commercial power in charge of supply is restored. If you give up the transfer of administrative power, the 28th terrarium will be changed to unmanaged status.
When unmanaged, terrariums are more likely to be threatened by fire.
Achievement Conditions: 80% or higher ownership of terrarium. Current Achievement: 100%
★You will be revered as a wonder among the villagers.
Your position in the World Tree’s 28th terrarium: Class 1 Gardener (Administrative Officer).
(From class 4 or higher, you will be able to own a certain share of the terrarium.)
(From class 9 or lower, admission becomes impossible due to hostile relationship with the terrarium).
Your terrarium privileges are as follows:
-Tax adjustment right in the 28th terrarium of the World Tree
-Orchard personnel management right in the 28th terrarium of the World Tree
-Right to manage access to the 28th terrarium inhabitants and visitors of the World Tree
Please visit the 18th terrarium to officially confirm the temporary authorization.
The World Tree’s first Central Administration and Orchards certify this certificate.
Uh… what is this? I’m what? I’m the administrative officer?
It’s just temporary I guess, but it seems like I became something very important! Did I get the ownership by pouring diamonds into the branch? Was this a world where I could do anything if I had money? Can other dryads see this? I want to show off!
This is even more amazing than when I got a letter saying that I became a 5th class gardener in the 26th terrarium! If I think in terms of civil servants, what would be first class? Anyway, it’s a very high-ranking status!
I was beyond excited at this fact. I closed my mouth shut to keep myself from screaming in joy. Firecrackers burst in my head one after another from excitement.
I finely folded the letter and placed it next to the message I had received at the 26th terrarium. Then, another screen appeared on my phone.
I could return to the Stonehenge mode with the left arrow and the 28th administration management mode with the right arrow.
Wow, I can see everything with this little screen. I could see the percentage of ownership, as well as how much diamonds the World Tree was consuming, the condition of the terrarium (it was judged unsuitable for humans to live), the number of fires outside the terrarium, and who was currently living in the terrarium.
It’s as if I am seeing version of . The game managed the dwarves’ world similarly.
“Wow… this is crazy…” Is this game now a management game as well as a card game?
“Master druid…” When I touched the visitor menu in the terrarium, a small list came up. Seedling was there. He was currently 7th class and there was also a sign that he was a special visitor. When I touched Seedling’s name, there were up and down arrows in the area that indicated his class. Is this what I think it is? “I’m sorry… but do you remember what you told Seedling before?” “Huh? What?” I felt better, so I felt it was okay to talk to Seedling now. The resentment was resolved because of this reward. As I smiled with a better expression, Belladonna’s restless expression turned bright. “Remember last time when you told Seedling not to speak unless you first allowed him to? He is not speaking because of that…” Oh, that. Now that I think about it, I think I said that since he annoyed me every time he opened his mouth. I see that he is surprisingly keeping those words. “Oh yeah, well, he can speak now.” Although it is temporary, I am the administrative office of the 28th terrarium now. I am feeling very generous, so I have room to endure about three annoying sentences from you. “I was worried.” “Yes, yes.” What else can I manipulate with this screen? I can’t see Seedling’s personal information. What about dryads… ah, I can see the ones that are out right now. Belladonna, Blue Mellow, etc… I already know about them. “I was reckless. I shouldn’t have separated the dryads from you.” “Say it right. It was unavoidable back then and Daisy had decided to return to me soon. The reason I was disconnected from them was because you went into battle mode with the boss.” “Why did you enter this terrarium? If you were thinking correctly, you shouldn’t have blindly entered such a dangerous place. Your actions were dangerous enough to create an inferno here. If Mesquite was struck…” That’s about three sentences, I think. Maybe more. As my expression darkened, Belladonna sighed. Keep talking. I have something I want to test on you anyway. I went back to the screen which showed Seedling’s class in the 28th terrarium. I pressed the down button couple of times, and he fell from class 7 to class 10. Is this it? A pop-up window asked if I wanted to apply the changes, and I clicked OK without hesitation. There was a new button next to Seedling’s name [Deport]. This is the shit, really. I am so excited. “Seedling, have you ever been deported from a terrarium?” Belladonna answered instead. She was concerned about him making me feel worse if he continued the conversation, so she cut him off. “Yes, he has, from a bad fight… Of course, the root cause was with Seedling… but it wasn’t with malicious intent.” “If your class in the terrarium falls below level 9, access is restricted. But I just found out there is also class 10.” My subtle laughter made everyone confused. While they were trying to figure out the meaning of what I said, I touched the [Deport] button. Soon after, Seedling and his dryads became swept in gold and disappeared. He was deported from this terrarium. This is fun! It’s exciting! The diamonds I poured into the World Tree are paying me back like this! I want to get rid of this temporary position and become a permanent administrative officer. That would be so cool! “Jay, what happened?” Mesquite, who was suddenly standing next to me, asked with a surprised face. “I deported him. I’m now the administrative officer of the 28th terrarium! Although it is temporary. Let’s go back to the 26th terrarium and finish the quest. Our destination after that will be the 18th terrarium!” I pointed to the piles of diamonds that Elder was looking at, like a dog waiting to eat its food. When I told him to take everything, he ran towards it with an excited face. Does he like diamonds that much…? I eagerly explained about the whole situation of becoming the administrative officer to Mesquite. Daisy, too, followed us and listened to my explanation. Elder wasn’t around, which made it convenient for me to explain that the inevitable reason I became an administrative officer was because of the infinite amount of diamonds I had. I told them I had used an unimaginable quantity, maybe a few million. Daisy’s face turned white when she heard that.
“Wow… this is crazy…”
