THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR - Chapter 206
“Y-you are still using your Angas. How?”
“Why would I not use it?”
It’s true that with those shackles on me, I can’t muster as much strength as I want, but now more than ever, I can feel the difference due to the dragon heart. I can feel it beating faster, regulating Angas through my body and preventing the shackles from dissipating all of my power. To think that it would have such an amazing effect. It was amazing to feel Angas still vibrating through my body when William puts the shackles on me earlier.
“This is impossible.” William stands back up and holds his sword with both hands. Now that I take a good look. It is as long as Farner’s greatsword. The one he had before was smaller.
“Like I thought from the beginning, you must die..” William stands back up and raises his sword and even the knights on his side do the same. I guess it’s one versus all of them now.
“Then kill me instead of barking.” William raises his other hand in the direction of his soldiers who sheathe their weapons back. You want a one vs one? So you still have a bit of honor left, Father.
“Ahhh!!”
Full of rage, William attacks me with a wide overhead strike. You should have directly use a script instead if you wanted to defeat me. I dodge it and evade his next slash as well. Doing such a wide attack creates an opening. I take advantage of it and kick his chin. Blood spurts from his nose while he backs away.
“It’s over.” I raise my leg and just when I am about to strike his head, I see a sword passing by and stopping on my neck.
“I think you should calm down.” Dilt has moved over to our position. I didn’t even notice him approaching. It seems I still need to learn how to focus more. Especially if i want to reach this guy’s level one day.
“Cough…cough…high commander! I…I can still…” It seems my kick was really effective. William seems really stunned. That’s what you get for underestimating me, dumbass. All this because you wanted to play the cool guy in front of your wife.
“Calm down. This is not a matter that can be resolved through violence.”
“What do you mean?!!” I hear Rebecca shouting again. The building doesn’t vibrate as much though.
“What I mean, Saintess, is that this guy could be a great advantage if used correctly.”
“I am not a pawn for you to use, guide.”
“Guide?”
“Is this not what you are?” Cissa said the other dragon gave me a part of his soul so that he may guide me to him. Doesn’t he know that himself? Or is he just playing dumb?
“Hm…Well, in a sense, the high commander is a guide indeed. Though I never truly saw myself as one.”
He doesn’t understand what I mean, it seems. Anyway…
“High commander Dilt. Could you please explain yourself for everyone here? We are confused.”
The pope now intervenes as well. In his voice, I can see he has calmed down. Dilt removes his sword from my neck and as I turn around. I can see the perplexed look on the heroes’ faces as well as the Saintess. It seems the fact that I can still use my aura really surprised them.
Dilt sheathe back his sword then with a single jump, he goes back to his seat. He actually jumps over ten meters in a single jump with only his strength. This guy is still on another level compared to me. He sits back comfortably and looks at me with his irritating smile. This guy is planning something, I am sure of it.
“Before that, Kevin Dragonroad. I would like to ask you something.”
“Haven’t you asked enough already?”
“What do you think love is?”
“Love?”
“Yes. Love.”
“I don’t understand. What do you mean what is love?”
“Okay, in a simpler way, you are in love with Farner Saint Axelandria, right?”
“Yes.” Whispers from the knights resound when I answer.
“Then what would you do for her?”
“Everything.”
“Oh…Would you even kill your parents?”
“Just because they gave birth to me doesn’t mean they are good parents.”
“You disgusting monster.” Rebecca comments immediately after me. Her face distorts as she looks at me with disdain. You do well to call your son disgusting, mother. It just shows that you are shit yourself.
“Saintess, please-”
“What do you mean, please!!! Did you hear the outrage he just spoke. He should be flailed for that.
“Maybe but this is not the subject. Please, calm down for now.”
“This is outrageous.”
She pierces Dilt with her stare then looks at me again, without saying anything else.
“So, you are saying you would do anything for her, correct.”
“Yes, for her and those I care about, I would do whatever is necessary.”
“Even if you were asked to kill innocents, even if you-”
“Even if I have to walk through hell for them, I would do it smiling.”
“Is that so? Then this will be simple. Put an end to the war against the Longinus.”
“What?!!”
“What are saying?!!!”
“High commander!!!”
The pope, the Saintess, the heroes…Everyone looks at him with stupor. Why are they reacting like that? Is it something so crazy to say?
“I was planning to do so anyway.”
Now, just like Dilt, everyone is looking at me. It’s a mix of disbelief from Roxcia, confusion from Excia and Farner, disdain from the pope and the Saintess, and joy from Dilt that strikes my eyes.
“Then we just made faster then. That’s good.”
“However, I won’t join the eternal army. Being in the same place as this guy disgusts me.” I look at doggy but he shrugs while showing an haughty attitude.
“I wasn’t planning on doing so. You are still young and need to be educated, besides you are a noble. I can’t just enroll you like we were doing before.”
“You were enrolling people by force before?”
“Oh, you didn’t know? Before your headmaster took over the academy and change its rules with his board of teachers, the omega class you are part of was made of students that were destined to be captains in the eternal army.”
“I see.” Well, thanks, Frankher.
“What do you say about my proposition?”
Dilt looks at the Saintess and the pope. The pope just silently nods while Rebecca’s face turns bloody red.
“This is an insult to us, high commander. To be asking a mere human to do something generations of Saintess and heroes haven’t been able to. I cannot believe you would really-”
“Don’t worry Saintess. He barely knows the extent of the task he just accepts. By the time he realizes what is happening, he will certainly be broken and desperate.”
“Even so…It makes us looks weak. But I understand, I agree with your proposition as well.”
“And so, Kevin Dragonroad.”
The three of them stand up and Dilt brings out his sword then launches it at me. It lands right before my right foot while breaking the table and the chains restraining me. Now, only the shackles remain.
“We have decided as the highest authorities of the church, you are charged as of today with the task of defeating Longinus whenever and wherever we asked. Until you put an end to Longinus on Schamerin, your relationship will the hero FARNER SAINT AXELANDRIA shan’t be acknowledged and made public.”
After the trial, the pope and Saintess leave. Dilt comes down with another jump and takes his sword back.
“Just in case you would have misunderstood, I didn’t do this for you.”
“I would be crazy if I did.” I already know that you bear hatred towards me. Your eyes aren’t hiding it enough.
He leaves, followed by William and the other knights. Farner rushes to me and places her hand on my ear. She opens the shackles with her other hand while my ear.
“Kevin, I am so sorry. I didn’t-”
“Why are you apologizing?”
“Because I…I should have…”
“No matter what you would have done. I would have still told them about it.”
Roxcia also comes, followed by Excia. The others gather around me as well.
“I see that you are adamant about protecting your sister. Or maybe you just hate me?” I have noticed a while ago. Roxcia doesn’t like me even one bit. Though I didn’t think she actually hated me.
“It is not a matter of whether I hate you or not. It’s-”
“Then what is it?!”
Farner turns to her after healing my ear and faces her. Not only her, Lanuvel advances as well and faces her as well. Roxcia is facing both of them with a serene face. She really believes she hasn’t done anything wrong.
“You guys won’t hear my explanation anyway.”
“Because you don’t have one!” Farner raises her hand and tries to slap her but I hold her hand before.
“Stop it.”
