THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR - Chapter 362
“This is going to become a habit, I am sure.” When I wake up, I am in the same place as before. A long corridor with statues of dragons here and there between the pillars. “Well, let’s search for my own.”
I run through the corridor, looking for my statue but this time, I can’t find it. I come back and go forward again but I don’t see anything. Somehow, I even reach the end of the corridor but still, nothing.
“The fuck?” This is not the time to play around, you fuckers! Farner is in danger! “I ain’t got time for this!!”
I touch a statue then another one but nothing happens. What do they want me to do now? This isn’t the time for riddles dammit!
“Dammit!!” Why is it always so complicated?! Can’t they be more straightforward?!
“Find my statue.”
“Cissa?! Wait, Cissa!! You are back!!” Finally, a voice I have been missing. I don’t know why but her voice sounds even more lovely now. “But where are you?”
There is no answer after that, though. Why? Anyway, she said to find her statue so let’s start with that. I look at the statue while walking around and then I spot one that looks a lot like her. But when I touch it, nothing happens.
“That’s not her?” Have I forgotten Cissa’s face? I am pretty sure this is her. Or… “AH, the horns are different.”
This one has a different face but the same horns, this one has a slightly larger face. This one is completely different. Hey!! I am not here to establish an encyclopedia of dragons, where is that statue, dammit!
***
I walk around some and finally, I find it.
“You better react, you hear me.”
“I did.” The statue’s mouth moves and words come out of it. Damn, that almost scared me.
After that, everything turns white and I am forced to kneel on one leg, lowering my head like I am facing something too great for me to see.
The scenery changes and under my feet appears stone tiles. But those stone tiles are shining like polished steel. On the sides, I can see pillars shining like gold, there are people here as well now. Thirteen people: six on each of my sides and one in front of me.
“It seems you didn’t manage to do it in the end.” The person in front of me speaks first. His voice is powerful and yet, somehow, it makes me feel at ease. How is that?
“I told you that task was too great for a human soul. We should have sacrificed him from the beginning.” Then another voice from the right comes. This time, it is a rather normal one.
“He is right. Schamerin is a world of weak mind people who know nothing of the threat Longinus pose. And even you know of how their goddess’s laziness, my lord.”
“Hm…” The guy at the center doesn’t say anything. Who is he anyway? What are they all talking about?
I try to open my mouth but I can’t make any sounds. What is happening?
“My lord, we have sacrificed two of our brethren for this, sacrificing a human soul doesn’t seem like much to me.”
“I agree!!”
“Yes, his soul isn’t worth much compared to what is at stake.”
“Hm…I understand your opinions but let’s not jump to conclusions so quickly, shall we? It may be a single soul but it is still one. He has the right to voice his opinion as well.”
As the person in front of me said that, I feel like a weight has been lifted on me. Even the posture that I was keeping until now. I feel like my body can move now. I raise my head and see dragons everywhere on my sides, standing up while looking at me.
They are all wearing the same clothes but in different colors, going from black to belgium, with yellow, indigo, blue, red, and other colors in the mix. At the center, the human is wearing a white gown with gold and silver ornaments on his hands and head. He is sitting like the hammer hands; with his left hand supporting his head. But unlike him, he doesn’t look bored.
“So, Kevin Koersombre. What do you think? Are they right or wrong?”
“I don’t care.”
“Eh?”
“Prosperous!!” The dragon wearing black clothes releases his aura and I am strangled out of nowhere. My throat feels like it is burning.
“Ack!”
“How dare you address our lord like this!”
“Enough.”
But with a single word of the human guy, it stops. My body feels like it is floating in happiness now. The burning sensation from earlier is completely gone. No, actually, it’s like it never existed.
“Kevin, you said you don’t care. Why is that?”
“No, first things first. You are a god, right?”
“Was it not obvi-”
“I said enough.”
“I am sorry, my lord.” This guy in black is rather hostile. I should punch his face when I get the chance.
“Puahaha!! That would be funny, indeed.”
They are suddenly all looking at me with different expressions. Wait, don’t tell me…
“Yes. It is exactly as you think. We can hear everything you are thinking.”
I look at the guy in black and his horns have changed color. They were brown earlier but now, they are all white.
“Huh…Sorry?” Though I don’t think I should…Ah, well, he can hear it anyway so…
“Anyway, as you said earlier, Kevin, I am a god. The god of absolute victory to be more precise.”
“That’s quite the name you have.”
“Our lord is the only one to have eradicated the Longinus on his planet to this day. His name couldn’t have been anything else.” Blacky comments like the number one fan he seems to be.
“What he said.” This god isn’t as like what I thought gods would be. He is way too relaxed. He almost looks li…I should stop there before I get killed.
