- Chapter 220: Mission Completed: Netherlanders' Safety
“Why don’t we go all out?”, was what Jay asked Arcane.
‘Ding’
[ Are you sure about using the demon mode? ]
[ -> Yes/ No ]
Such notifications always popped up whenever he tried to use the demon mode during training earlier.
‘Yes.’, Jay agreed to it without any hesitation.
‘Zoom’
Right after he did that, a lot of clouds started to gather in the sky.
It was weird, way too weird because not once were there signs of any clouds in Hell, at least, not after Diablo vanished.
It was not as if the demons required water to live. They had the fire-drink which served as water for them.
Since no one had seen such clouds for ages, they were shocked when they appeared.
Of course, some were extremely smart and knew about the clouds from the books which had their mention. They recalled while looking at the bizarre lightning from the clouds.
The atmosphere changed completely. The aura which was just a little dominating to Arcane was now freaking and frightening.
He could hardly move a muscle despite the fact that he still had the strength to spare.
“What’s going on?”
The reddish sky changed to black and the lightning sounds were continuously being heard throughout the Netherland.
*gulp*
‘This sound…’
‘So it was this sound that I had heard that day…’, was what Alon said to himself.
Jay had practiced the demon mode so it was obvious that the similar sounds and noises would have been heard by someone or the other earlier.
Make no mistake, Jay wasn’t using all of his powers during practicing. He was just testing to see if his body could handle it and what exactly that mode was.
Dark clouds surrounded Jay right after he activated the demon mode. There were signs of thundering in those tiny clouds too which seemed no more than some smoke or dust particles.
Whatever, the bottom line was that Jay was undergoing a transformation.
*gulp*
None, there was no one who could take even a single step in this traumatizing power and aura.
Arcane may have been the strongest demon in the Netherworld and his powers were far off when compared to that of Jay, but he was a scardy cat and nothing else.
Deep inside, he had locked his fears while pretending to be strong on the outside, but those fears just kept on piling just to burst at the right moment.
What moment would be right if it wasn’t this?
Jay opened his eyes which gave off a bright purple shiny light.
Since the clouds surrounding him were dark, the light spread evenly and became visible to everyone.
It was as if they were observing some extra-terrestrial species making its appearance.
“He…”
“He is definitely the Dark Overlord!”, said some of them while bowing down to him.
Their reasoning was that the aura that they were feeling was much more different than that of what any demon could generate. Also, the unknown cloud formation came as a shock to them.
Regardless, now the blinding purple light gave them the final blow that Jay was thinking about.
If he had revealed his hammer, then the match would have been over even before it had started, however, Jay wanted to do this in a grand way.
Also, he wasn’t sure if just flashing a hammer would let them surrender since many would claim that the hammer would be fake.
In any case, the blinding light soon subsided and the cloud that was blocking their views vanished too.
Now Jay was completely visible to them and his new appearance was more than enough to bring tears in their eyes.
“A demon?”
“The Dark Overlord is a demon too?” – while some said this without knowing a thing about the form which Jay took, others remained speechless.
Arcane, who was holding the sword in his hand, had no strength to even stand after seeing the transformation.
“What do you say…?”
“Should we start the battle from the start?”, Jay asked.
His voice was too edgy and sounded like some demon king. Yes, it was deep enough to bring chills down everyone’s spines.
*tap tap*
Jay then started to walk forward which only caused the ground to tremor.
He had to confront the Arcane after all.
Well, he was just showing off his body at this point. The demonic body into which he transformed and had the consciousness to control that body – due to that body, all knelt on the ground.
The Dark Overlord or not, no one cared about it.
What they bowed to was the demonic body and nothing else.
Why?
The answer was simple, they were witnessing a real Demon King in front of them.
A demon king? No!
That was just an understatement. What they saw was a Demon God, the supreme being who was believed to have created the Demons!
Yes, despite the fact that the demons and Gods lived at the same place earlier, the one who created the demons was a God too – referred to as one of the 5 strongest Gods of all time.
He was the Demon God – the one who created the demons.
The dark-purple-colored body with stiffened and hardened ripe muscles displayed a demon’s might.
That was not all, his body had become gigantic. He was thrice as tall as himself earlier.
Horns? There were none, but the fierce look was more than enough to portray his demonic form.
“Diablo…” – said one of them.
“Diablo?” – asked another.
Yes, Jay looked exactly like Diablo, their supposedly first demon King.
None of them had seen the Demon God so they just assumed him to be one, however now that a few seniors recognized and found some similarities between Diablo in the portraits and Jay, they didn’t hesitate to call him that.
Jay was confused. He knew not why they started calling him that. Of course, he knew about Diablo and had heard his name and read it many times as it was displayed in the titles and texts, but he never knew that they would call him that.
Whatever the case, maybe, he was being praised now.
The so-called battle between Arcane and him was long over – at least, it was over when he assumed this supernatural demonic form.
Arcane was kneeling too at the moment because of the fear which had totally overwhelmed him.
‘Who is he?’
Everyone started to assume that he wasn’t the Dark Overlord, however that didn’t mean that he was any weak.
*gulp*
‘Unbelievable…’, the demon generals under Jay were surprised by this too.
‘It might have been our best decision until now – not attacking him that is…’
The generals had stopped earlier after looking at the hammer. Now they were relieved that Jay hadn’t used all of his power because even for Demons, the sight was terrifying.
“Do you accept your defeat?”, Jay asked in a heavy tone.
Arcane, after hearing that, mumbled – “Yes.”
And that concluded the battle between two fearsome demons of the era.
It took no more than a few hours for Jay to get crowned as the new Demon King.
Acron returned from the earth with heavy wounds in the next hour and found out about what had happened.
Initially, he wanted to rebel and wanted to oppose Jay, but after seeing Jay sitting on the throne gallantly, he had no choice but to respect and fear.
‘Sheesh, I expected Arcane to have some balls and put up a fight…’
‘However, he gave up without doing anything…’
When he checked their stats, he found that they were quite normal. The only reason they were faster, stronger, or much more dominating earlier was because of the ‘Territory Boost’ which had boosted their status by a thousand times.
No wonder they seemed way too strong. But after Jay got his demon form, the boost was activated for him too and even if Arcane had gone full power mode, he would still not be close enough to defeat him and that’s why all surrendered immediately.
The Netherlanders were now safe since he soon made laws – in just one hour!
Of course, laws were made earlier, but they were implemented soon enough and finally, the notification that Jay had been waiting for, appeared.
